I'll start with Basa and Heren . . ..
Basa and Heren have been with the Riders for about a month now. They are fairly familiar with Paladeen and the people that reside therein. The first of the Riders they met was Rhyg, an orcish man whose Companion is the male desert dragon, Talon. There is also the dwarven woman Jahna and griffin Companion, Skkyganoer; the Falkrion man Sanstos, who is the longest-serving Rider still active, and his pegasus Companion, Lightspeed; an elven woman named Mara and her female Forest Dragon Companion, Luma; and the human man Dernis Jiwovz, whose companion is the female Mountain Dragon Aretgarlja.
In addition to the active Riders, the compound hosts several retired former Riders. Hithrol Jiwovz, Dernis's father, leads the Riders, alongside his former Companion, Olifin, Aretgarlja's father, who oversees most of the training for the Companions. Hithrol's wife, Tya, is in charge of dealings with foreign powers, and her former Companion, a male Forest Dragon named Kaigan, does much of the bookkeeping for the Riders. A Vampyre woman named Zariana oversees combat training and an elven man named Eldren Mystri trains the Riders in archery and magic. Hithrol and Tya's two daughters, Maicyn and Kira, are younger than Dernis and have not yet joined the Riders.
Finally, Paladeen is also home to a variety of servants, who help with maintenance, cooking, and the forge. A group of farmers lives just off the compound and supplies most of the food for the Riders.
Along with Basa and Heren, there are two other pairs of new recruits. A Lizardfolk man called Giddy and his Frost Dragon Companion Finn have been here for a couple weeks. A human woman named Azar Wolfvalor and her Eurausin Companion Callusthe arrived a little under a week ago
Breakfast has just ended; Basa and Heren, along with Dernis and Aretgarlja, Giddy and Finn, and Azar and Callusthe are on their way to begin combat training on Practice Field A.

Next up, Giddy and Finn . . ..
After two weeks at Paladeen, Giddy and Finn have met all the Riders, but, besides the retired Riders, know only a few, as most have been busy with various missions. They have spent most of their time undergoing combat training and learning about the Riders and what it means to be part of them. The youngest member of the Riders and the leader’s son, Dernis, who has yet to go on his first mission, has been tutoring Giddy and another recruit, a human man named Basa Mortuka, in the language of hand signs that the Riders use to signal orders in battle and sometimes to communicate. He and his Mountain Dragon Companion, Aretgarlja, have also been teaching them about the history of the Riders. Five days ago, the four recruits were joined by a young human woman named Azar Wolfvalor and her Eurausin Companion, Callusthe. Dernis says this is more recruits than they’ve had at any one time since the original group of Dragon Riders.
Having just finished breakfast, Giddy and Finn are on their way to Practice Field A with Basa and Heren, Azar and Callusthe, and Dernis and Aretgarlja. Zariana, a former Rider, will meet them there for combat training, and later Finn will join Heren and Aretgarlja as they attend an aerial maneuvers practice session led by Olifin, Aretgarlja’s father.

I’ll move on to Azar now . . ..
Azar arrived with Callusthe at Paladeen only five days ago. She is still getting used to the routine: breakfast, followed by combat training, which is highly encouraged, though not mandatory, then lunch and lessons or more training, and finally dinner. Like at home, Azar’s meals are prepared for her, but she is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the small house that she, as with the other Riders, has been given to live in. Callusthe stays a short distance away in one of the large pavilions built to allow several Companions to sleep in comfort.
There are four retired Riders in Paladeen, two of whom are still accompanied by their Companions. In addition, there is one active Rider, Dernis Jiwovz, and his companion, Aretgarlja, as well as two pairs of new recruits: the human man named Barsa Mortuka and his dragon Companion, Heren, and the Lizardfolk man called Giddy and his dragon Companion, Finn. Since all the other active Riders have been out on missions, Azar has not yet met any of them.
Right now, Azar, having just finished breakfast, is on her way to the training grounds with Callusthe. As they head to Practice Field A, they are joined by Dernis, Aretgarlja, Barsa, Heren, Giddy, and Finn.

And finally, Azril . . ..
It’s been a couple months since Azril arrived on this new continent. He arrived in a huge city called alternately Atlantia and the City by the Sea, and quickly found work as a servant for a rich merchant, but his efforts to find a position as a blacksmith’s apprentice proved fruitless. After weeks of demanding and unrewarding labor, he decided to set out to see if he could find the Riders. The task did not prove too difficult, and he was soon directed to the southwest, where a week’s journey, a little longer than it should have been thanks to the lack of clear directions, brought him within sight of Paladeen.
He now stands at the foot of the tower, working up the nerve to enter. A group of people – clearly Riders, accompanied as they are by three huge, scaly creatures that must be the dragons his father told him so much about – passes by, but they are gone before Azril is able to say anything.
Eventually, a man opens the door to the tower. Slightly balding, he is wearing what appears to be livery – a black tunic emblazoned in white with the image of a dragon in flight. “Can I help you?”
Okay, today's the day. I'll be posting an introduction to the RP for each character and tagging each of you individually in those posts. I do recommend that you at least skim through each other's introductions, however (at least the ones for Winn, Con, and Neko), as each contains some information that the others don't (Winn's has a breakdown of all the current Riders and other people at Paladeen, Con's has a little bit on the culture of the Riders, and Neko's explains the day-to-day situation and schedule for new recruits like your characters). And now, without further ado, let the RP begin . . ..
Edit: The pages worked out almost perfectly, which is something I thought I'd now mention, since it makes me happy.

Azril takes a deep breath before replying timidly, "I-- I'm here to. . . seek a position." He waits anxiously for the next response.
The man nods. "Very good. Follow me." He enters the tower and begins climbing up a circular staircase. While you walk, he explains. "My name is Unai. I'm in charge of the staff; if you are given a position, you will report to me." Several flights of stairs later, they stop in front of a plain wood door. "Master Jiwovz likes to see any new potential hires for himself. I'm afraid he is occupied right now, but you may wait outside." Unai leaves, heading back down the stairs.
There is no furniture outside the door on which to sit, and the walls are empty save a handful of candles for light. From inside the room comes the sound of voices, loud enough that Azril cannot help but hear them. "We have been over this time and again, Maicyn. Your mother and I decided when your brother was born that 17 was the proper age to join the Riders. That's all there is to it." This first voice seems to be male, and though loud its tone is measured.
"It's not fair! Dernis is a Rider!" The second sounds female, younger, and much angrier.
"Your brother joined the Riders when he turned 17, just as you will. Honestly, Maicyn, it's only a year. You don't even have a Companion!"
When Maicyn replies, there is a bitter note in her voice. "Why is that? Aretgarlja's egg was presented to Dernis years before they joined the Riders! You've never even tried to find me a Companion!"
A little more heated now, the man tries to edge in a response. "That is not true!"
But Maicyn continues, cutting short anything else he might have said. "You're just afraid I'll end up like Aunt Alis! Well, here's some news, Dad: everyone may tell me that I look like her, but I! Am! Not! Her! You can't keep me here forever, and even if you could, it wouldn't bring her back!"
Silence now, a long pause, before the door flies open. Azril catches a glimpse of a young woman, about his age, with pale brown hair, as she charges out of the room and down the stairs. Inside the room, an older man, his hair more silver than blonde, sits at a desk, hands clasped together, face turned down.

Stunned, Azril stands outside the room in silence. Having no idea what the proper thing to do in this situation is, he eventually makes a small, awkward cough. "A-hem."

IC: Giddy tramps along, noticeably not riding Finn, who stays close but not too close. Giddy tries to engage Dernis in conversation. "Hey now, what's up man? We doing anything special today?"

Dernis shrugs. "Same as always. Eat, train, eat, train, eat, sleep, repeat." There is a restless note in his voice. "I don't think so; like I said, the same as always."
OOC: Dernis looks a lot like Hithrol, in case you were wondering, just with Tya's darker complexion and hair.
Stunned, Azril stands outside the room in silence. Having no idea what the proper thing to do in this situation is, he eventually makes a small, awkward cough. "A-hem."
The man looks up. "Ah, come in." He sounds tired, but as Azril enters he sits up straight and gives a friendly smile. "What can I do for you?"
Azril responds with an anxious smile of his own and saying, "Well, sir, I've traveled a long way to-- to join the Riders, if you'll have me."
OOC: Did Robin follow Azril in or is he waiting outside?
OoC: I wasn't sure when you didn't mention him in the intro, but at this moment, I'll say Robin followed him inside.
"Er, umm..." He chuckles awkwardly, running a hand through his mop of sandy blond hair. "...Does a wolf count?" he asks sheepishly.
(OoC: Just to warn you, I may not be active for a couple of days, what with flying and then recovering from jet-lag. Sorry!)
OOC: Yeah, that's my fault. I forgot about him when I was writing it.
IC: "Only if he's a direwolf," he says with a smile. "And," he adds, peering down at Robin, "It appears he is not. Well, that's all right. I can talk to some friends, see if we can't find something for you. In the meantime, though, we can perhaps let you train a little with the proper Riders. They'll be just starting for the day, over in Practice Field A, so if you run you may be able to catch them."
OOC: No worries. I've been moving this chain along a little faster than I would normally, only because I want to get as far as possible before I go out of town later in July.
