Maicyn continues, rapidly swinging her blade into his shield.
He continues blocking her blows, clumsy though his movements may be. At one point, he finally attempts a swing at her; from the side, at her torso.
Using her shield, Maicyn catches the blow and pushes his arm to the side, leaving her with an opening. She swings her sword at the right side of Azril's head.

Nearly panicking, he yanks the shield up in front of his head against her blow.

Wearied from the repeated attacks, Azril is not quite quick enough, and Maicyn's sword skims off of the upraised rim of his shield to land a glancing blow to the top part of his head. Turning the blade carefully, Maicyn manages to only hit him with the flat. "You alright?"

He staggers back a step, feeling his head ring faintly. He gasps, "Y-- yeah. I'm all right."

Maicyn sheathes her sword, breathing a little heavily. "Good. Let's be done for now."
Robin pads up and sits by Azril, who rubs him on the head. He looks surprised by Maicyn's comment and responds with a little smile. "Uh, thanks."
Maicyn nods. "So, you're not trained in combat and you don't have a Companion. Why are you here?"
Robin voices a small bark, as if in protest. Azril ignores him except for continuing to pat him. He answers Maicyn's question readily. "Well, I've always wanted to meet the Riders. My father told me stories about them when I was young. I though the idea of actually joining them would be too good to be true, so when I left home I meant to just look for work somewhere, like becoming an apprentice or servant. But. . ." He gives another little smile. ". . . here I am."

"Well. . ." Azril's brown-eyed gaze roves over the settings, taking in the towers, the grassy training area, and the fellow Riders. "No, but that's a good thing. It's better."
