Chapter 2 ~ p6 “Exactly. When Walt Disney visited the realm,” Betty explained, rolling her chair forward, “he was first welcomed by Queen Cinderella. She was happy to share our history with another realm who wanted to hear it, and she was quite influential in convincing her own kingdom and many others to allow him into the realm unreservedly. They became good friends, and while Walt traveled through many of the kingdoms, she always held a special place in his heart. In 1962, he had Cinderella Castle built as a monument to honor her, and to welcome any others from his world who might be so lucky to discover the realm.” Betty smiled, recounting the story that was only a common history lesson to every citizen of the Disney realm. “I believe sometime later, the castle was replicated and built in the Otherworld.” “What about Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland?” Hannah asked. “That one was built almost twenty years before Cinderella’s.” “Ah, that made it to the Otherworld, did it?” Betty nodded. “Walt had plans to build monuments to Queen Aurora and Queen Snow White as well, although they were never carried out. I suppose he thought Sleeping Beauty Castle was the best choice to share first with his own world.” The girls all nodded and exchanged shrugs with each other, prompting Betty to return to the map. “Anyhoo, Cinderella Castle isn't actually owned by the queen herself, although she has much of the say about what goes on there. She and the king rule over Charming Kingdom, several miles to the south,” she said, tapping another section of the map. “However, the castle is often used as a meeting hall for all the monarchs, and some balls and parties from time to time. People far and wide show up to them.” Her face scrunched in a smile, and she continued touring them around the map. hang in there, not much longer... xD This chapter has like, a lot of explanatory stuff, so it's long.

Chapter 2 ~ p7
“There's a few cities and colonies and what have you. Zootopia, the Jungle, places that don't qualify as a kingdom for lack of a monarch. And then there are certain places much akin to those in your world, like Mexico and Paris, where the border between our realm and yours is thought to be the thinnest. But most of the map,” she turned it slightly toward herself, “is covered by the kingdoms.” “How many are there?” asked Alexa, leaning over the desk. “Oh, plenty, I'd say,” Betty chuckled. She traced each kingdom on the map as she spoke. “Nearest to Center Square, there's the Charming Kingdom to the south, the Fairy Kingdom to the east, and the Jewel Kingdom to the west. Farther north from the center is the Rose Kingdom and the kingdom of Arendelle. To the west is Agrabah, the kingdom of Corona, and the Pride Lands. A little more south, there's the tribe of Motunui -- on those islands here. To the east, near the Fairy Kingdom is Wonderland and the underwater kingdom of Atlantica, which is just off the coast there and is linked to the Seaside Kingdom.” Betty peered at the map for a moment, apparently oblivious to how overwhelmed the girls were by this new world before them. “There's more besides that, but those are just the largest kingdoms. If you'd like me to show you the provinces--” “No,” Kelsea cut in, a little too quickly. She took a moment to calm her racing heart and shook her head. “To be honest, what you've shown us is already more of a world than we could possibly explore in a day, or even a week.” Betty nodded understandingly. “There are train stations in almost every kingdom and territory, and the trains run non-stop through all of them.” She glanced at a gray line which ran the perimeter of the circular realm and weaved in and out of kingdoms here and there. “No guarantees on how long you’ll have to wait, but if you get to a station, you'll be picked up soon enough.” “Thank you so much,” Gwen said, carefully folding the map and slipping it in her pocket. “You've been a big help.”

Chapter 2 ~ p8
“Happy to do it, love. Oh!” Betty's eyes widened, and she maneuvered her tiny spectacles down her nose to see something in a bin behind the desk. “I almost forgot. Should you decide to split up -- which I imagine, sooner or later you will -- you might be needing these.” She placed on the counter six identical objects resembling walkie-talkies, with a row of three blue buttons in the middle. Typing something into the computer as she spoke, Betty added, “These will give you the ability to have a group chat no matter where any of you are in the realm. Whenever you're finished with them, just return them here; but keep them as long as you need.” “Sweet,” Carmen mused, examining one before tucking it in her back pocket. “Thanks so much.” “You're most welcome!” Betty chirped. She waved a hand at them as if to shoo them away. “Now, don't just stand there, go off and have yourselves an adventure!” The six girls stepped back out into the sizzling summer weather and the cheery atmosphere of the town. Carmen squinted through the sun, shielding her eyes with her hand. “Where are we going first?” “I have no idea,” Gwen replied as they began to walk down the street. She laughed. “It's not like we're all really going to agree on a place.” “I saw on the map that there's several train stations all around Center Square. Let's just board the first one we find, and see where it takes us,” Kelsea suggested eagerly. “Oooh, good idea!” Alexa piped in. Kelsea glanced around. “Sage? Hannah? You guys okay with that?” As they walked, the two in question were staring at the ground and into space, respectively, clearly not paying attention to the discussion. “Corona exists,” Sage murmured, seemingly to herself, her eyes wide. “Rapunzel, and Eugene...it all actually exists…” Next to her, Hannah was in her own world as well. “She said the Pride Lands,” she whispered again and again, a huge smile of disbelief on her face.

Chapter 2 ~ p9
Kelsea shook her head with a smirk at her twin. “Come on, let's go. I don't think they'd mind either way, just so long as they stay with us.” After passing through the jovial faces and friendly greetings of the crowd in the Center Square, they reached a train station at what must have been the edge of the town. Stepping through the glass doors into the small station, they joined a crowd on the platform. Their wait wasn't long before a sleek silver train zipped to a stop in front of them, opening its doors to let the previous crowd off and usher the new one inside. Looking around in awe as they did, the six girls boarded the train. The interior was filled with turquoise carpet and smooth, silver leather seats. They took seats two by two, sitting one row behind the other. The doors of the train closed with a loud whoosh, and in a moment, they were moving again. A thrill of excitement ran through each member of the group as they exchanged excited looks. Not one of them knew how to explain this dream they'd gotten caught into -- but whether it was imagination, reality, or somewhere in between, they were about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime.

Chapter 2 ~ p4 Amidst their giggles, Gwen again spoke up, “Before you guys plan out the whole trip, is anyone else still not concerned about this? This, entire--” she waved a hand at the castle, “thing?” “Gwen. Come onnn,” Carmen groaned, finally stepping over to join the group. She slung both arms over her sister's back and pretended to jump on her. “Just because you're the oldest, it doesn't mean you have to be boring.”
*** I'm having trouble trying to decide whether I'd be more like Gwen or Carmen if I found myself in this situation.

Awesome chapter, Bun!! The Disney universe you and your gallery friends have imagined is so creative and so peaceful. It really makes me wonder what kind of conflict can happen for this story.

Chapter 3 About twenty minutes later, the train neared another station. This one possessed a more elegant structure and was etched with colorful carvings. As they approached, they glided over a narrow bridge, slicing through vast bays of water on both sides. The bridge curved gently into the station at the end, which clearly led into some sort of village around the widening corner. The train ride had been pleasant enough, with plenty to see, though nothing that anyone recognized immediately from any Disney movies. Upon exiting the train, the girls were greeted by the quaint interior of the station, much different from the one in Center Square. The stone walls were draped with dark green and gold banners, as well as sporadic stones adorned with colorful symbols of flowers. Two large, olive green doors stood in the middle of the far wall. They were flanked on either side by what seemed to be a royal guard, both wearing long teal overcoats. The atmosphere produced by all the symbols and decorations was already inciting a suspicion among the group as to where they might have landed -- and then they caught sight of a familiar green-and-purple flag, hanging proudly over the door frame, and there was no doubt. “Welcome to Arendelle,” one of the guards announced. He and his companion pulled open the doors together with a loud creak, inviting all passengers of the train inside. The six girls exchanged wide-eyed looks; the most surprised of all came from Kelsea, whose legs seemed to suddenly be rooted to the spot. Kelsea's nerves were rattling at the sight of the bright Arendelle banner. Through those doors was a kingdom she had wished to visit for years, but known perfectly well she couldn’t -- and yet, here they were, with the real life kingdom before them. Sage was the first to take notice of Kelsea's hesitance. She reached back to take hold of her twin's hand, offering a comforting smile. Kelsea returned it, and, squeezing her eyes shut for a moment, seemed to find her confidence. With a deep breath, she was the first one to step through the gates of Arendelle. SS: "Coronation Day" score, Frozen.

Chapter 3 ~ p2
Sunlight streamed through the clouds, illuminating the familiar colors of Arendelle's culture. Cozy houses with sloping roofs nestled together along the streets, and an open-air marketplace busied the far end of the street. The cobblestone road was filled with people walking to and fro, most of them dressed in traditional Norwegian attire, though others were set apart as possible visitors from other kingdoms. As they wandered down the street, Kelsea's eye was caught by an oddly familiar sleigh parked outside a small building on the corner. “Hey, guys! Guys!!” She tapped her friends’ shoulders insistently, wondering why on earth they weren't paying attention. “Is that Kristoff's sled? I think it is!” Finally, Carmen turned to her, seeming to be struck speechless. She gave the sled a quick, dismissive glance and nodded unsurely before taking hold of Kelsea's arm and turning her around. “Hey Kel, you think that's something, you might wanna check this out.” “What--” Kelsea's jaw dropped open in amazement, all questions about the sleigh forgotten. In front of them now, captivating everyone's attention as it stretched regally toward the colossal mountains behind it, was Arendelle's grand castle. They stood at the edge of the cobblestone bridge, taking it all in eagerly. Everything, from the green turrets of the castle to the flags on the lamp posts along the bridge, was exactly the way it appeared in the movie. The resemblance was impeccable. “If only we could go inside,” mused Alexa, breaking the silence and voicing the idea everyone had been thinking about. “Why can't we?” Carmen suggested, receiving a few surprised looks. “There are people going inside right now.” “They're probably dignitaries or something who have a right to go in,” Gwen said, sounding disappointed. She tilted her head. “Although, some of them look a little young to be dignitaries…” “No, look! She's right, the gate's open.” Sage pointed, excitement building in her chest, not only for herself but her sister as well.

Chapter 3 ~ p3
Kelsea’s eyes lit up, and she instinctively clutched the arm of the person closest to her. “Oh, Sage, you think so? You really think we could-- could see Elsa and Anna?!” “I don’t see why we can’t try!” Hannah smiled and placed a hand over Kelsea’s. “Now let me go, you’re squeezing my arm in half.” They drifted with the crowd through the gates, nervous and amazed at the same time. The interior of the castle was as beautiful as the exterior. The balcony of the second floor above wrapped the perimeter of the room, stemming from a forked stairway at the far side of the room. The wooden floor was so polished, it could likely have been used as a mirror; a strip of deep green carpet spread before them, stretching to the landing of the stairs and disappearing along with the stairways. Glancing around, Kelsea spotted a few more royal guards posted at intervals throughout the room. She couldn’t help but notice that some of the visitors looked a little surprised at this as they passed, as if the guards had only been instated there recently for some reason. Approaching a nearby man who appeared to be an Arendelle citizen, Kelsea summoned her adrenaline-fueled courage and spoke up. “Excuse me, sir, is the castle open to the public?” “Why, certainly, miss.” He put a hand to his chin in thought. “The gates were locked for the longest time, you know -- never opened once in over ten years; it was downright eerie. But they haven't closed for so much as a second in the last two years, or at least as long as I've been here. Curious, I'd say, but travelers are more than welcome.” His mustache twitched in a smile. “Very curious,” Kelsea replied with a knowing smile. Meanwhile, the rest of the group was milling around the entry hall. “Should we ask if we can see Elsa and Anna…?” Carmen murmured.

Chapter 3 ~ p4
“Somehow I don't think they'd just let a bunch of strangers walk right up to the queen,” said Sage. Alexa shrugged. “Then again, it is the Disney realm, so maybe they have differ--” “Whoawhoawhoawhoa!” The outcry was accompanied by the rattling sound of glass and wood. A small table against the wall rocked back and forth on its legs, the ornate vase on top of it wobbling dangerously. Kelsea clutched one side of the table in a desperate attempt to steady it; and yet, with all the commotion, she was certain the exclamation a few moments ago had not come from her own mouth. As she swiftly reached for the top of the vase to settle it down, her hand came down on top of another hand already resting there. Letting out a slow breath of relief, Kelsea cautiously removed her hand as she glanced up -- and met a pair of blue eyes, their familiarity sending a chill down her spine. “Anna!” she sputtered. “I mean, Princess Anna, I--” She performed a hasty half-curtsy as she took a step back. “I'm so sorry!” “No, nono, it's fine!” the princess laughed, her face flushing slightly. “It's not you, it's me. I-- well, I'm a klutz to begin with, and when I wasn't looking where I was going coming around the corner, it's bound to be a disaster.” Anna smiled sheepishly, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “It's fine.” “Well, still. I feel like it's partially my fault.” Kelsea's arms disappeared behind her back as she shifted nervously. Still in awe, she took another step back and gazed at Anna, amazed by how much she looked just the way they knew her to appear. Her ginger hair fell to her side in mildly unkempt waves, tied loosely in the back, bangs sweeping across her forehead above the freckles that dusted her cheeks. She wore a casual green dress decorated with pink flowers, sleeves pushed up to her elbows. A pair of scuffed boots peeked out beneath her skirt. “Nah, it's cool, really.” Anna shrugged. “Just that if I broke one more antique heirloom in the castle my sister would probably kill me.”

Chapter 3 ~ p5
Her gaze drifted to the other five girls, who were standing around somewhat awkwardly and watching them. “Hi! Are y’all together?” “Yes.” Kelsea gestured to each of the girls, who waved and smiled nervously. “This is my sister Sage, and my friends Gwen, Hannah, Carmen, and Alexa.” “Nice to meet you. Welcome to Arendelle!” Anna quipped. She glanced back to Kelsea curiously. “Would you all like to come upstairs for a bit? Have some tea, or cookies, or--? I still just feel kind of bad for almost running you over,” she added with a chuckle. Sage shot Kelsea an encouraging look, the rest murmuring in excitement. Kelsea's eyes lit up as she smiled broadly. “That would be amazing! You're sure Elsa doesn't-- she won't mind?” she asked, hoping beyond hope she knew what the answer was. “Psssh.” Anna gave a dismissive wave as she headed up the stairs, gesturing for the others to follow. “My sister's not as unsociable as she pretends. She'll understand.” Anna led them up both flights of stairs in a brisk jog. They emerged in a regal hall lined with huge picture frames and tapestries, the floor covered with thick rugs that seemed to stretch for miles. As the six girls gaped at their surroundings, the princess strode carelessly through two similar halls, occasionally passing a few servants who greeted them with polite nods. Upon reaching a tall white door in the middle of a hallway, Anna suddenly came to a stop. She turned on her heel and cast a quick glance over her shoulder to the group. “This is just one of the parlors. It's kinda stuffy, to be honest. But it's got a great view of the kingdom.” She gave five sharp raps on the door. “I know it's you, Anna,” came a voice from within. The princess grinned back at them and began to giggle as she pushed open the door. “I figured. But look at this, I brought friends!” Anna announced, stepping inside.

Chapter 3 ~ p6
Eagerness and nerves knotting her stomach, Kelsea edged into the room. Her eye was immediately caught by the marble fireplace in the center of the far wall, flanked on both sides by vast windows. Around it stood two armchairs and a small tea table -- and currently, both of these chairs were occupied. “Friends?! New friends? Are they cuddly?” A giggling white blur shot out of the armchair on the right and charged toward them, his spindly arms outstretched. “Olaf!” Kelsea gasped, unable to contain her massive smile. Olaf came to a halt in front of them, miniature flurry floating above his head. His black eyes fell on each of them curiously before he decided the one who had spoken his name must be the most friendly and launched himself at Kelsea for a hug, which she gladly obliged. A soft laugh floated from across the room, along with the sound of a teacup clicking on porcelain. “Easy, Olaf, don't scare them away.” “Right. Sorry,” he giggled. Kelsea's head snapped up from where she knelt, her arms still wrapped around the snowman's frigid body. Gently untangling herself from Olaf's ligneous arms, she stood up, smiling brightly as the queen approached. Elsa's icy blue eyes were piercing, even more so than they appeared in the Otherworld, yet possessed a kind warmth. A thick, messy braid of platinum blonde hair tumbled over her shoulder. Her elegant gown flowed to her ankles in a shimmering wave of ice, delicate frost cape sparkling behind her. Stunned, Kelsea performed the best curtsy she could manage, her mind racing trying to think of something to say. “Thank you.” Elsa dipped her head cordially. “Please, sit down. Make yourselves comfortable.” She flicked a wrist gracefully toward the table, forming six glassy chairs. Anna and Elsa escorted the girls to the tea table as they each claimed a seat, simultaneously thrilled and hesitant to sitting down. Kelsea warily lowered herself into one of the chairs, the icy surface chilling her legs and her back; but, surprisingly, it was quite a welcome sensation in the hot weather.
