Chapter 1 ~ p4
Amidst the shocked cries that came from the girls around her, Carmen's eyes landed on the storybook, dropped to the floor in the chaos. She had just enough time before the brightness blinded her to see that every inch of the book’s interior was glowing from end to end, its pages flipping rapidly with a force that seemed it would rip them apart. And she had no time to alert everyone to this fact, or even time to ponder it herself, before a freezing wind blasted her face and turned the world to black.

Chapter 1 ~ p3 Sage ran her finger down the table of contents, reading some of the titles aloud. “Peter Pan, The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, and -- Zootopia? Moana--? I…” her words abruptly faltered as she opened and closed her mouth repeatedly. “Aren't these two like, pretty recent?” “Very recent,” Carmen said quietly. “No way that lines up with how old this storybook looks.” Hannah continued to scan the contents. “It doesn't stop there. Coco is even more recent and it's in here too. In fact, there's a lot of movies in here that came out just last year.” She raised her head from the book to give them a questioning look, her dark brown eyes clouded. “That's....weird...” was finally the word Alexa settled on. Kelsea began flipping through the book carefully, afraid it might fall apart. However, it wasn't long before something else unusual struck her. “These pages aren't yellow,” she said in surprise. She turned the book's open face for all to see; and indeed, though the title pages had appeared nearly antique, the clean white pages she displayed now looked as though they had been printed yesterday. A chill ran down Gwen’s spine. “This keeps getting weirder,” she murmured. She exchanged a confused glance with her sister, who asked, “How is that even possible?” Kelsea let out a deep breath, blowing her short brown hair out of her eyes. “I have no idea, Carmen.” “Whoa,” came a soft whisper from beside them. They looked over to see Sage, who now held the book, leaning over it with Hannah and Alexa on either side. “I've never seen anything like this,” Hannah breathed. “These illustrations are really...vibrant. Really...no, not vibrant, what's the word--” “Magical.” Alexa's eyes locked with hers. No sooner had the word left her mouth than a bright flash of light erupted into the garage, spilling into every corner of the room, blinding them all. In an odd twist of fate, the magic word is "magical."

Chapter 2 Gwen's head swam, her vision nothing but darkness. Was she awake? She let out a small, sleepy grunt as she forced open her eyes and a wave of new sensations swept over her. She could feel sunlight on her back and see a plain of vibrant green grass stretching before her, a sure indication that they were outside. Birds sang happily from somewhere nearby. Where are we? Sitting up slowly, Gwen squinted into their bright new surroundings. She could make out a row of small trees, and multiple manicured flower beds which filled the air with a sweet fragrance -- and then, a silhouette ahead, something strangely familiar. She shielded her eyes from the sun and did a double take, but it wasn't real. It couldn't be. “Kelsea,” Gwen hissed, reaching out to shake the person closest to her. Her eyes were still glued to the shape ahead, her voice growing more urgent by the second as overwhelming shock continued to flood her. “Alexa, Sage, Hannah, Carmen!” Within a second, all five were awake, all disconcerted and all quickly drawn to the colossal object that Gwen’s paralyzed arm was pointing to. There was a breathtaking quiet as they took it in. “Cinderella Castle!” squeaked Hannah, at last. Her eyes sparkled with awe. “Just like the one in Magic Kingdom.” The only words anyone could seem to find were murmurs of wonder and surprise, still dazed from the rather abrupt occurrence in the garage. Kelsea’s eyes narrowed into slits. She nibbled absentmindedly at her thumbnail, turning the whole thing over in her mind. Suddenly her head snapped up, and she quickly stood. “The book!” she exclaimed, gesturing to the castle and back to the group. “We opened it, and the pages started to glow--! It has to be,” she murmured, her voice falling as she twisted a short strand of hair around her finger. “But it can’t. Can it?” She finally looked to the others for consultancy. SS: Orchestral "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" or "It's a Small World." (Piano is fine, but full orchestra goes the extra mile :3) This totally slipped my mind yesterday; apologies. You should probably get used to me being off schedule. XD

Chapter 2 ~ p2 “The storybook? Yeah.” Carmen glanced up from where she sat. “I saw that thing light up in the garage -- my eyes still kind of hurt, to tell you the truth. But there’s no doubt that’s what sent us here.” “If we even knew where ‘here’ was,” Hannah added, as she wandered around the small circular area they had landed in. She gave a light tug on the fringed hem of her tank top and began to hop up and down, trying to see over the neatly trimmed landscaping. “A-are we in Disney World?” Alexa’s mouth was hanging slightly open. “I don’t think so.” They looked over to the area Gwen and Sage had been searching, where the latter had now strayed from her friend and was staring at something through a gap she had discovered in the bushes. Sage turned around with a large grin on her face. She shrugged innocently, a hint of mischief in her hazel eyes. “I mean, I’ve never been to Disney World, but I’m pretty sure they don’t have one of those.” Gathering around her, the rest of the girls could now clearly see what she was looking at -- and, with it, a better view of just what they had gotten themselves into. Before them now was the grand white castle in all its splendor, the sun washing its smooth stone and striking its blue turrets in a bright cerulean glow. Stretching toward them from the gate was a gray pathway, lined by delicate silver fences. The gardens surrounding the castle, one of which they stood in, were all circles of different sizes, aligned in a way which would likely create the shapes of Mickey heads when seen from above. All the gardens were overflowing with vibrant flower beds and bushes, every plant lush and green, as well as huge marble fountains which bubbled and offered their cool water through the summer heat. But what Sage had been pointing out was something else, engraved on a silver plaque which stood in front of them at the head of the path.

Chapter 2 ~ p3
For a moment, they were all speechless, looking back and forth to each other as though asking whether anyone else had a logical answer. Hannah finally spoke, her voice bubbling with almost hysterical laughter she fought to contain. “J-just to confirm, no, they don’t have that in Disney World.” “Then what...in the...” Kelsea’s hands were shaking of their own accord, her heart thumping excitedly in her chest. “I-- that-- no one can explain that, right?” She glanced over at her friends, eyes wide. “‘Cause if you can, now would be a great time.” “It’s impossible.” Alexa pressed her hands to her mouth even as her eyes lit up. “It’s impossible. It’s impossible. It’s imp-- what am I saying is impossible?!” she squealed, turning to Carmen, who returned her grin. “Well, you, of all people, shouldn’t be saying anything is impossible,” Carmen said with a smile, casting a glance at Alexa's mushroom-dotted Wonderland shirt. “But it is.” Gwen was standing beside them and slowly shaking her head. “I don't want to be the rain on the parade, guys, but you do realize this is insane? I mean, what, you think we're in some sort of fifth dimension where this castle belongs to the actual Cinderella?” She gave a half-hearted laugh and brushed her golden-auburn hair out of her face. “We can only dream that up.” “Well, whether you believe that much or not, you can't very well deny the fact that we just got transported through a book.” Hannah gave her a sly sidelong look. “So, if we're admitting that much, wouldn't it be easiest to admit we're in some sort of fifth dimension where Cinderella is real and all the characters actu--” Her sentence was cut off with a sharp gasp. After keeping her hands clapped over her mouth for a second, she whipped back to the others. “Do you think all the characters actually exist?” A smile lit up Alexa's face. “There's only one way to find out!” Sage peered around the gardens, spotting a road that wrapped around the castle and gardens in what seemed to be a giant circle. “I bet that'll lead us to some towns. Or houses. Wherever all the people are!”

Chapter 2 ~ p4
Amidst their giggles, Gwen again spoke up, “Before you guys plan out the whole trip, is anyone else still not concerned about this? This, entire--” she waved a hand at the castle, “thing?” “Gwen. Come onnn,” Carmen groaned, finally stepping over to join the group. She slung both arms over her sister's back and pretended to jump on her. “Just because you're the oldest, it doesn't mean you have to be boring.” Kelsea exchanged a curious look with Gwen, hoping to prompt her. “It can't hurt, right?” Gwen sighed. Faced with the five hopeful faces of her best friends, she finally relented and let her curiosity get the best of her. “Okay, okay fine, let's go,” she laughed, giving a light shrug of defeat. Carmen grinned and squeezed her shoulders before releasing her. The girls’ theory about the road had been right, and they were soon led into a bright, bustling town. Full of so many intricate details, it was almost too much to take in at once. It was as though Main Street had come to life, but in a whole new way. Lining the streets were many small shops with names like Fairy Cakery Bakery and Authentic Seashells from Atlantica. Street vendors with brightly colored carts stood on the sidewalk, selling popcorn, various kinds of candy and other snacks. Cheerful orchestrations of Disney music floated over the speakers on the top of each lamppost. People of all ages filled the town, all dressed in modern clothes, yet there was something curious about the majority of them that still distinguished them as clear citizens. For starters, not one person in the town seemed anything but happy, all talking and laughing in warm, cheerful tones. The town was instantly an image of pure welcoming. “This is amazing,” Alexa exclaimed softly. “If any of you pinch me, I'll never forgive you,” Hannah murmured, her eyes huge with excitement. On the nearest corner, Gwen spotted a small, round building, on which hung a circular blue sign reading “Visitors’ Center.”

Chapter 2 ~ p5
By unanimous decision, they moved toward the building, and were saved from the humidity by a blast of cool air as they stepped inside. Still blinking as their eyes adjusted to the new lighting, they were quickly given a proper greeting. “Welcome, welcome, come right in! What can I do for you dears today?” The voice, it turned out, belonged to a middle-aged woman sitting behind the counter to their left. She wore a cheerful smile on her round face, her graying hair tucked in a bun and her small glasses perched precariously on her nose. A name tag pinned to her powder pink sweater read Betty. Kelsea approached the counter, resting her elbows on the marble top and returning Betty's smile. “Hello. We're new, and we-- well, actually, we're--” she glanced back at the others, suddenly realizing she was unsure of what they actually needed to ask. Hannah took a step forward to help, adjusting her glasses and giving the attendant a friendly nod. “Hi. Uh, yeah, we were just wondering…um…” But she, too, found she couldn't exactly put their bizarre experience into words. Betty's smile seemed to suggest she'd seen this sort of thing many times before. She gave them a reassuring wink as she reached into a drawer behind the counter. “Don’t say any more, darlin's, I've got you covered.” She pulled out a folded paper and laid it on the countertop. Upon being unfolded, the paper was revealed to be a large map, similar to a Disney park map -- but the locations were hardly the same. “This is a map of the entire Disney realm,” Betty informed them. She pointed her pencil to the center of the map at a circle containing an image of the castle. “We, at the moment, are in Center Square here. I’ll admit it would have been more sensible to call it Center Circle,” she remarked with a laugh. “But this is the place tourists often hit, with Cinderella Castle, the shops and whatnot.” “So, question,” Sage chimed in. “The castle, isn’t that the same one as in Walt Disney World?”
