Suddenly it felt like the air around him had forced him to come to a stop, no, the ground too. It was as if the planet itself had paused, no, not the planet, gravity... He could sense her presence not far behind him. Jadyn asked. "Would you really be willing to hold me against my will?" "No... But please at least say a proper goodbye." Zephyr replied. "Alright." he said. She instantly released him. He turned back to her. She stood in the snow, the cold appeared to be getting to her again. This would have to be really quick. She walked up to him, slightly hesitant, to hopefully reassure her that they were on good terms he gave her a hug and they embraced each other much like they had the other night. Jadyn still didn't know what to think of the feelings that came with it, but it felt- good, to put it the most simply. "Goodbye until next time." He said quietly. "You too." She replied holding him tighter before, reluctantly it seemed, letting go. Before more could be said or further delay could be caused he slipped away into the night as Zephyr looked on after him, but not in pursuit this time. As he drove the motorcycle back to the den he contemplated everything that had been discussed between himself and Zephyr. He couldn't remember if he'd ever opened up to anyone about when Alpha had tried to kill him as a child and how he had gotten his scar from the flames. There was so much else too. The flirting on his part at least, his and Zephyr's raw determination to protect each other from Alpha and the pack, the prophecy, the rules, family, friends, enemies, and elemental powers. This was new territory. If he decided to take things even one step further with his friendship with Zephyr nothing would be the same ever again and there was no telling the potential consequences. Yet it was one of the things that continued to resurface in his mind as he rode down the empty path alone in the dark.
Hidden within the trees surrounding the now burned and abandoned village, Skylor thought carefully about what she had just witnessed. Although she could not hear Jadyn and Zephyr's conversation, she could see it. "Interesting..." she whispered.
*snip* Jadyn understood where she was coming from, and he felt bad that she had to carry the guilt of him getting hurt by the pack. But how could he make her understand that he wanted her to stay away from the pack, and particularly Alpha because he cared for her? And how could he make it not sound like a confession? For now, he figured it was just best to change the subject to other matters. * "Fine. I can always find the den again on my own anyway..." "Please, don't..." he said in desperation, and then added "Besides, didn't they kick you out?" "Twice. But I don't care, I'm going to try, I have to." said Zephyr.
AAAWWWWWWWW~!
Um, I'd listen to Jadyn if I were you. You wouldn't be able to help the team or anybody else if you got caught, too.
*snip* "Yeah, I belive so. There's a spell I found, it's not completely figured out yet though and there was only a few details. But some of the ingredients include aurora minerals, the heart of the asteroid, and essence from Alpha. " He replied. "Interesting. The other stuff is really bad of course... But can you imagine? Being able to turn into a wolf for real would be so cool." said Zephyr. "Why?" asked Jadyn, curious as to why she would find that so appealing, especially when they were in the middle of discussing serious stuff. *
*snip* He couldn't tell if she was blushing or if it was just the cold, probably more likely the cold. Jadyn grinned, touched that she saw him that way. His heart was racing in that moment. He replied, jokingly. "Are you sure it wasn't because of the red fur on the fox?" asked Jadyn winking at her as he ran his hand through his red hair. Zephyr laughed a little, something he hadn't seen her do in what felt like a long time. "Oh, I don't know, maybe, could be the captivating amber eyes too." She replied with a smug smirk. Wait, are we both flirting?! Jadyn thought with a start as the realization hit him. He remembered what Alpha had said about him and Zephyr again. How he had warned him that if he did try to make any moves, it would end in heartbreak... He continued anyway though despite that. "So tell me, does your wolf form have your stunning green eyes?" "It does actually! I mean, I don't know I'd say stunning though..." she replied.
He wanted to get closer to comfort her, but he wasn't sure if she needed space. He inched just a little closer. To his astonishment she moved closer to him as well, their shoulders were nearly touching. "Those filthy gangs..." Jadyn muttered. He gave her a side hug, as he was about to pull away Zephyr leaned in. She touched his hand that was around her. What unspoken thing it meant, he couldn't say for sure. "You okay?" he asked. "I think, I'll get over it eventually, I don't know when though..." she said, still closer to him than he knew for sure how to react to in the moment. She continued, "It was also really weird. Thorax suggested that I be his girlfriend..." "What?!" Jadyn exclaimed before he could stop himself, then he added, "that rat..." *
*air sirens go off while I bang pots and pans together* PRE-MARITAL HUGGING ALERT, PRE-MARITAL HUGGING!!! THE FRIENDZONE'S DESTRUCTION IS BEGINNING, I REPEAT, THEY ARE HUGGING!!!
Also good reaction, Jadyn, just what I wanted out of you. U-U
*snip* "I'm afraid I can't allow that. I'm leaving now..." Zephyr grabbed his arm as she said. "It hurts so much to see you leave. What am I to do about that?" A stupid but effective idea suddenly came to mind. She looked mildly confused as he grabbed her hands and put them over her eyes. "Then don't watch." he said. * "Don't leave yet, not like this!" It pained him, it really did. She would probably get mad at him, and understandably so if she did. Also, this felt like a horrible pattern they were getting into. It felt like he was always running away from her in some way. But despite all that he kept going.

Pffft- Love how Skylor just hid back there and watched everything go down. I wonder if she approves... Jadyn and Zephyr's interaction is so adorable! x3

Jadyn and Zephyr: *committing pre-marital hand-holding, shoulder-touching, and hugging*
Me, hiding in the trees with Skylor: JUST KISS ALREADY!
HAHAHA.
Do you have any idea how many times I had to edit this chapter because I felt like they were taking it too far? XD
Me in my head: This is a slow burn, need to keep it realistic and pure enough for the circumstances- but I SHIP IT AND WANT TO SEE SHIPY SCENES TOO, no no, slow burn better, more ship scenes when time is right.
