Skylor wasn't sure why Kai hadn't chosen her, but she was certain that he must have had similar reasoning. It wasn't an easy choice to begin with. Jadyn had been scarred in his childhood and was extremely wary of fire, although she wondered if that's why he had chosen him... It had surprised everyone when Jadyn had actually agreed to take the element of fire. Even though he was uneasy about it, he never seemed to want to back out either. It had been just as surprising when Lloyd had brought his students to come visit and Jadyn had said he had unlocked his elemental power. It was a relief really though, Skylor had lost much sleep worrying about his wellbeing. She wondered what had made him finally be ok with using fire. Perhaps his new teammates had had a positive effect on him. Skylor stopped punching the bag and began to calm herself down as she did some simple stretches. Suddenly the door to the training room opened and Pixal came in, a serious expression on her face. "Lloyd and Lisa are here, they've got bad news apparently. I think you are going to want to hear everything..." What had happened? "Of course." Said Skylor as she followed Pixal out of the training room and into the sitting room where all the ninja were awake and sitting in the arm chairs. Lloyd was on one of the couches next to Lisa. Pixal sat down next to Lisa and Skylor stood next to Kai's chair. She couldn't make herself sit, not when she was uneasy. "What happened?" Asked Skylor as calmly as she could. "It's kinda a long story, isn't it Sensei?" Said Lisa as she fingered at her braided hair. "We will listen for however long it takes to explain." said Zane. Although Zane didn't need to recover in the same way as the other ninja, resting helped his system repair itself faster and with less issues. "Do you think it has anything to do with your vision Zane?" Asked Cole. "We shall see... " said Zane. "He had another vision!?" said Jay, " You have to remember to tell us this stuff man!" "Yeah, I thought we agreed a long time ago not to hide stuff like that!" said Kai. "Good to see that you are nearly back to your good old selves." said Lloyd smirking slightly.
"I'll tell you about it if it's relevant to what Lloyd and Lisa have to tell us." said Zane. "Where do we even start Sensei?" Asked Lisa. "I think it's best if we explain starting with the night of Day of the Departed... We were attacked out nowhere by these warriors who we've encountered twice before but knew next to nothing about besides the fact that they were mining for arorea minerals. They took Zephyr. Later that night the boys went to look for her while Lisa stayed with me since I was in rough shape. "Well, they did find her and they all escaped. Zephyr later told us the real reasons the pack attacked us and went after her. The leader of the pack, Alpha, is actually her grandfather and her family went into hiding twenty years ago so they wouldn't be found by the pack. The pack as they are now known to us, is a secret group that supposedly originated from a wolf race that helped my grandfather the First Spinjizu Master." "Wolf race?!" Exclaimed Zane. "There were wolves, in my vision... My vision was warning me about what you are telling us." There was a moment of silence until Jay said. "Of course, nothing new here... Continue Lloyd." "He gave them the ability to turn human at will. Their home was destroyed in the battle against the Overlord so they began to study the balance and as result they become convinced that to much power is dangerous. So they tried to convince the elemental masters of the day of their view. It didn't go well so they released a monster to prove a point and then some of the elemental masters wanted revenge. They wiped out almost all of the wolf people. "Those that remained started the current pack with their families and allowed humans to join them. Over time their bloodline became more and more human and they eventually lost the ability to turn wolf. They took it upon themselves to rid the world of power, so they started doing assassinations. Apparently Zephyr's father was supposed to do one of those assassination attempts but decided not to. He eventually fell for Gravis' younger sister." "So that's how Zephyr is related to Gravis. I wondered." said Cole.
Lloyd continued. "When the pack found out, Gravis tried to stop them, but met his end... Which made the rest of Zephyr's family go into hiding in Hiroshi's Labyrinth." "Hiroshi's Labyrinth huh?" said Kai. " Considering they lived there for two decades, I'm impressed." Lloyd continued again. "Turns out he was looking for them so we made a plan to rescue Zephyr's family. However, it didn't go quite as planned..." Lisa spoke. "Zephyr, me and Nathan went to a different location to throw the pack off in case the pack followed. Jadyn and Moe went to recuse Zephyr's family. The pack did follow us using travelers tea and was able to find both locations. Zephyr unlocked her true potential when some jungle creatures came to close and we all made it out. Meanwhile Jadyn and Moe did manage to get everyone but Zechariah, Zephyr's father, to safety. However..." Lisa went quiet and glanced anxiously at Skylor and Kai. Lloyd looked at Lisa in understanding and said as he glanced at Skylor and Kai as well. "Jadyn was taken by the pack, and he has still not returned to us." Skylor wasn't sure what to think of what she had just been told. It seemed so unreal and horrible that it didn't seem to be connected to reality. The other ninja seemed surprised and concerned as well. She tried to speak but all she could manage was a gasp. Her eyes met Kai's, he had a look of grim concern written on his face. Kai turned to look in Lloyd and Lisa's direction again and said. "Tell us more."
Lloyd repiled. "We got Zephyr's family to a hiding place and began to really search for him the day after that, which was yesterday I believe. The days blur together... Zephyr found the den and Jadyn, she contacted us shortly after. We made it to the den but then noticed that some of the pack members were leaving. My gut told me to follow them and it's a good thing we did because for reasons we don't know yet they attacked a village. "Anyway long story short we helped the villagers the best we could. During that time Zephyr was looking for survivors and came across Jadyn again. He told her that Alpha had broken Zechariah's legs and that Jadyn is now part of the pack in the role of fox rank because of a prophecy." "Is why they haven't, well, ya know, yet?" Asked Jay. "Yes, that's why Jadyn isn't smashed yet." Repiled Lloyd. "He returned back to the pack last night. Zephyr said they made a plan to meet up tonight." Why was Zephyr the only one he had spoken to since his capture? Skylor wondered. She needed to know more about all of this. Cole spoke. "We need to recover as soon as possible. You guys are going to need all the help you can get. " "Is there any way to speed up our recovery?" Asked Jay. Pixal repiled. "I just did a search in my database. There is a plant in the Toxic Bogs that may help." "Good." said Lloyd. "Let's make a plan to get some of that and then figure out what we intend to do after that."

Zephyr, Nathan and Copic walked through the streets of Ninjago City. Sensei Lloyd and Lisa had dropped them off before going to where the ninja were hiding. They had changed into casual clothes so Zephyr wore her blue jacket with a white t shirt and dark gray pants. Nathan was in his green jacket and his ripped old clothing he had wore when Zephyr and the team had met him. Copic was in the cat sweater Zephyr had seen her wearing in the framed picture. Instead of her goggles and lab coat she was wearing sunglasses and a multi colored scarf. She had let her auburn hair down and wore a cocky expression you might see a movie star make as she walked confidently. "I thought we were laying low?" Asked Nathan. "We ARE laying low, I'm just playing the part." said Copic lowering her sunglasses a little and winking. "How would I know the difference?" said Nathan as they reached one of the entrances that went down into New Ouroboros. The ancient style buildings around them went high enough to support the ground As Copic and Zephyr followed Nathan's lead through the underground city Zephyr caught sight of aurora minerals lighting the sides of the streets and around buildings along with other light sources. In front of one building some young serpentine played near and around the glowing stones without a care. They had no idea what danger they could be in. Zephyr now understood better why Nathan had been so shook by the idea of a giant asteroid possibly destroying New Ouroboros and Ninjago City... The prophecy still made little sense to her and she wasn't sure if she believed it. The serpentine and humans around them didn't pay them any mind other then those who had small shops who were trying desperately to get any potential customers attention. The three of them stood on the thin dirt road that stretched throughout the city, staying clear of bikers to skateboarders that zoomed past.

They came to a road and tunnel by a skate park that Zephyr realized was the same one where her and the team had faced the gang of teens, learned spinjizu, and met Nathan for the first time. It was odd being back, odder still, this time she was with different people. She instinctively felt a little paranoid though. Were those teens still around? Would she come across them again? "Hey Nathan, is there a chance we might bump into that gang again?" asked Zephyr. "There's always that possibility. To them, you'd probably be a great target without Lisa, Moe, and Jadyn around, so try not to draw to much attention to yourself. Word spreads fast around here..." repiled Nathan. Zephyr put the hood of her jacket up and glanced around warily. "What about you, street boy?" asked Copic. "Surely you've made some enemies around here too." Nathan repiled grimly. "You have no idea... At least I've also made some, sort of friends, down here. They've helped me out of some tough spots." They continued on not encountering any trouble. When Sage's house came into view Zephyr felt relieved. Nathan though, began to tense up. "What's wrong?" Asked Zephyr starting to feel her own paranoia returning. "Something isn't right... it's the middle of the day and no one on the street is outside. That only happens when-" Nathan stopped talking and ran towards Sage's home. He halted in front of the door with a horrified expression on his face. Zephyr and Copic followed him and looked at the door too. A red spray painted symbol was on the door, it looked like a serpentine skull. "No no, not them!" said Nathan in near panic as he grabbed his black hair with his hands. "Who?" Asked Zephyr. Nathan didn't answer, instead, he opened the door and a cruel voice greeted them. "Nathan, long time no see..."

Chapter 8 Old Friends and New Faces
Inside there was an entire gang of rough looking teens and young adults. Backed into one of the corners of the main room was Sage, Magenta, Squiggle, Slyder, and a male with white hair and a sliver body wearing street clothes who appeared to be an android. The group in the corner seemed to be trapped there by the gang. The person who had spoken stood in the center of the room on top of the table. He had long black hair and wore a decorative black and red oni style mask that covered his entire face. "Thorax!" Nathan exclaimed in anger and disgust. "Come on in and join the party. I heard you were in town so I took the gamble that you'd be stopping by. I see you brought with one of your tornado making friends, and someone else, which one is your girlfriend?" said Thorax. After he had finished speaking several strong gang members came forward and grabbed the three of them roughly. Zephyr attempted to fight back but they were surprisingly strong. Nathan was glaring at Thorax as they pulled him inside. Copic just grinned smugly and said. "Hey, take it easy, no need to be so rough, we're all reasonable people here." When they were all inside they closed the door and several gang members blocked the exit. Zephyr tried to get out of the grip of the gang members that held her. Using her element came to mind. As far as she knew they didn't know about her power of gravity. She looked around her, trying to figure out what to do. The room was extremely crowded and smelled strongly of horrible body oders. She caught sight of some of the hostages in the corner looking at her. Slyder shouted. "Sssave us again!"

Zephyr glared up at one of the gang members who was holding her tightly on the arm. He grinned at her in a way that made Zephyr furious. Copic was seemingly unfazed and looked bored. Nathan shouted at Thorax angerly. "You son of a half-brained snail! What in Ninjago are you doing here?! I told you and your serpentine hating scum to stay away!" "You talk big for someone who still has a lot to lose. Besides, you don't have that fool Jet to save you this time." said Thorax tauntingly. "What you did to him is unforgivable! No wonder he left the city." Spat Nathan. Zephyr had never seen him more angry. She glanced at the table Thorax was standing on. Maybe it was time to make her move. She was about to activate her elemental power on the table when Thorax looked in her direction. She froze, not daring to use her powers quite yet so that she still had the element of surprise on her side. "Oh, and you spinjizu master, I know someone who's been waiting to see you again." said Thorax, "Brock, as we agreed, you may do what you like to her for your revenge." A fumilar big teen stepped through the crowd toward her, his nose was busted out of shape. This was the leader of the small gang Zephyr and the team had faced. The last time she saw him Jadyn had punched him hard in the face. It looked like his nose hadn't been the same after that. Brock grinned as he said. "It's a shame I can't have revenge on the guy who broke my nose, but you'll have to do. Who knows, maybe if I mess you up enough he'll come to me." "Make Nathan watch this." said Thorax. The hostages and Nathan looked horrified. Copic winked at Zephyr. There was still the two guys holding her arms which were starting to grow numb. She focused on the table, how Ninjago's natural gravity pulled it down where it touched the floor. Too much more weight on top would destroy it, too much more gravity could demolish it. But less could send it floating upwards, along with the man who stood on it. If Nathan and Copic could be quiet it could be enough of a distraction...
Brock walked up to her, he lifted her chin up examining her for a moment. Zephyr gritted her teeth and glared at him as her skin crawled in disgust from his touch. She had to focus, she had to stay calm. Like Jadyn would... Brock let go of her roughly and made one of his hands into a fist. It was now or never. She pulled a mental trigger to use her element and the table began to lift off the ground. Gasps and shouts of surprise came from the gang members as they all turned to look at the floating table. Brock also turned to see what was going on. Thorax was looking down at the table he stood on as it began to rise to the reasonably high ceiling. His expression and reaction was hidden under his oni style mask. This was Zephyr's chance. She spun into a blur of blue and green energy as she knocked the two guys who were holding her away. The moment she had done spinjizu the table crashed to the floor smashing into pieces. Zephyr stopped doing spinjizu and rose into the air above the crowd. "She's- an elemental master!" Someone exclaimed. All eyes were on her, except for Thorax's who were hidden because his face was buried in the pile of wood that was once the table. His mask had shattered and broken, so when he lifted his cut up face from the floor Zephyr could see his angered expression. Zephyr then proceeded to lift Sage, Magenta, Slyder, Squiggle and the android off the ground and into the air, along with Nathan and Copic. "Impossible! Master of gravity disappeared!" Said Thorax as he got to his feet. She set them down on the upper part of the stairs leading to the second floor, she then set herself down lower on the stairs so that she was between the gang members and her friends. She shouted up the stairs. "Do you have a fire escape up stairs?" Sage's voice repiled. "Yes." "Use it, Nathan will protect you. Find somewhere safe. I'll hold them off as long as I can." said Zephyr as she pushed back a group of gang members who had tried to go up the stairs with her gravity which sent them crashing to the floor. "But Zephyr-" Nathan protested. "Protect them! And get help, please!" Insisted Zephyr. Nathan nodded, probably seeing there was no other way at the moment.
* But what got to Skylor the most was that Copic was very similar to Chen in certain ways. It had shocked her again and again when Copic would do or say something that almost completely mirrored Skylor's father. Even her expressions from time to time would make Skylor recall memories of her father. She knew it wasn't fair to be wary of Copic because of things she didn't even know she was doing. But the nagging fear that Copic might one day become like Chen kept coming back to her. Not to mention, Skylor worried what crazy life threatening expirements Copic would try if she had access to elemental powers. Because Copic herself had actually said that's exactly what she would do with the element of amber.
Oh my gosh, how did I miss these parts, I have this bookmarked!! OmO'
*snip* "What happened?" Asked Skylor as calmly as she could. "It's kinda a long story, isn't it Sensei?" Said Lisa as she fingered at her braided hair. I think I'd like to see a picture of what the ninja look like ion their older ages. That'd be really neat to see. :3 Also, aw, nostalgia. xD
