A bit late posting my report, but here's what I got on LEGO Movie 2:
It's a musical.
LEGO should not have made a musical. That aside, there were a lot of good parts (haha, get my pun? ). Rex and the raptors were great, the portrayal of the humans was good. All of the secondary characters (Benny, MetalBeard, Batman) felt really weak. They threw me through a loop with the ending.

Surprisingly, I haven't gone to a cinema in about a year. I watched Coco on the big screen back in February of last year, and for some reason, I never went to see a movie in cinema afterwards. Maybe it was because there weren't enough movies in the year that actually interested me, since a lot of them were either sequels to movies I hadn't seen yet, or because they didn't look that good, or both. However, after getting into How to Train Your Dragon, I decided to watch the third movie in cinema today.
Movie: How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
Date and Time: February 20th 2019, 15:20
Trailers and Ads: Who cares?
Assessment: I had come with my whole family since they had already seen the first two movies and loved them. We had big buckets of popcorn that we got from the cinema, but we decided get Pepsi from a shop near to it just to save some money. My only complaint with the cinema was the seats. For some reason I can't understand, they folded whenever nobody was sitting on them and couldn't be fixed in one position, making them pretty uncomfortable, though I did get used to it eventually. I only had one toilet break and missed some important stuff early on, but fortunately, I understood the story just fine.
We enjoyed the movie greatly, though I myself couldn't help but feel there was some potential missed out on. I won't specify because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. After we left, the other members of my family started talking about a potential sequel, which prompted me to tell them that it was the final movie in the whole series.
In the end, it was not a wasted experience, and it feels great watching movies on the big screen again.

I gotta see that sometime. Not sure if I wanna go to theaters, though.

Movie: The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part
Theater (optional): Somewhere here in the Philippines
Date and Time: February 16, 2019, 1:00PM
Trailers/previews: Some ads (including a disaster preparedness ad and an ad about our movie rating system ), Shazam! (silence, for the most part. Can't remember if there were laughs or anything), Detective Pikachu (pretty sure there was mostly silence throughout)
Assessment: I know this is extremely late, but here we go! It was at the last second that I saw this as my parents didn't have enough money for us to watch The Lego Movie 2. However, because of a certain situation that occurred at home, my dad gave me money to see The Lego Movie 2 and I went with my brother because, well, we had some sort of math class that day, although it wasn't at school.
The theater was about 80% full, but that's because it's a small theater. As far as I can remember, only one group sat at the front row. There was laughter in only a few scenes (mostly from the adults) but not as loud as the laughter was throughout. The Lego Batman Movie (which I also saw in this same exact theater together with The Lego Ninjago Movie months after TLBM). The audience surprisingly consisted mostly of teens (I, myself included) and young adults, although there were some kids too. After the movie, during the end credits, there was this teen girl who went, "Ugh, I wanna unhear this song already!" You know what song she's referring to. Oh, and I also brought three of my minifigures to the theater for the sake of photography (my President Business minifigure from the TLM minifigure series and two sigfigs or custom minifigures).
The movie was great imo. Not as fresh as the first one (that one is still perfect imo) but still a very well-thought of and very well-written movie. The twists were well-done, except for one that was pretty predictable already (although I saw that twist leaked already about 4 months before its release). The humor was still there to make us older ones laugh more than the younger ones, even if it wasn't laugh-out-loud funny like the first one. Still a bummer we don't have the sets from the movie being sold here tho. Movie is an 8.5/10.

Oh man, HTTYD 3 made me cry a lot in theaters. The last time I cried in theaters before that was GOTG Vol 2. Still can't believe it's over.
And yes, I didn't really cry in Infinity War. I was about to tho.

I'd give it a 7 out of 10.
Eh, the musical scenes were fine imo. Maybe musicals are just not your type (I feel like Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi said that last part in the movie ). Batman imo felt like he was only here for the sake of driving the wedding subplot. I gotta agree about the rest of the secondary characters though. I wanted to see more of them tbh. Oh man, I'm glad they hid the other Chris Pratt references from the trailers. The characterization of Rex was clever imo.
Theater (optional): Somewhere here in the Philippines
Date and Time: March 9, 2019, 7:30PM
Trailers/previews: Avengers: Endgame (teaser trailer; it was already Thor's shot as soon as I got in. I knew I should have went to the bathroom after the trailer to not be late for it! ), Dumbo (silence; was talking to my friend about how Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito reunited here after Batman ), Aladdin (silence; was discussing the Will Smith trailer with my friend)
Assessment: My plan to see this was a mess. I first planned to see it with four of my friends from school somewhere literally near my school, which is quite far from my home btw. However, as soon as I arrived, they told me they can't go. Since I didn't want to see it alone (my family already saw it, minus my mom as she had to take care of our baby), I invited two other friends from school and they agreed to come to my nearest theater to see it at 5:00PM, even if it's far from where they live. They said they'd meet me at 2:30PM then commute with me going there but they came late at around 4:00PM and the traffic was pretty bad. We arrived at 6:00PM and the next screening was at 6:45PM. The thing is, that was same time when they told me they should be home before 9 or 10. I ended up inviting two of my other friends, who are also from school and live near where I live (they used to be my neighbors), to see it, and the tickets are on me. I ended up seeing it at 7:30PM, defo the best time to watch movies.
The theater was full and it was a mixed crowd (some families, couples, teens, etc.). There were some laughs here and there but only two or three big laughs from the crowd ('cause of Goose ). Other than that, it was mostly quiet in the theater. Oh, and about five people left before the mid-credits scene. Shame on you, noobs! (Jk) The mid-credits scene got everyone excited for Endgame.
The movie was just okay imo. Can't remember the last time I felt that way walking out of an MCU movie (I liked Thor 2 and Age of Ultron upon first viewing). The supporting cast stood out more than Brie Larson imo (whom I like btw). Overall, it's a 7/10.

Movie: Pokemon Detective Pikachu
Date and Time: May 26th 2019, 15:00
Trailers and Ads: NOBODY CARES!
Assessment: I actually wanted to see this movie at home, because although I was interested, I'm not really into Pokemon. However, my little brother got interested in Pokemon and wanted to see it, so we went. I decided to eat my whole popcorn in the time it took for the movie to start so that I wouldn't miss anything important in a toilet break. It must have been 40-50 minutes.
I actually enjoyed my time watching the movie, and the ending genuinely shocked me. I'm glad it that it's done well with both the critics1 and audiences, since movies based on video games generally don't do all that well, so maybe this could actually signal a turning point.
1: Rotten Tomatoes counted way more reviews than Metacritic, so I consider the movie to have done well critically.

Movie: Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Theater: Somewhere here in the Philippines
Date and Time: April 24, 2019, 3:15PM
Trailers/previews: Some ads, The Lion King (silence, except for me cause I was all like, "Awww, Simba's so cuteeee!!! <3 ), Aladdin (silence; can't remember if I sang along to "A Whole New World" when it was briefly played ), Toy Story 4 (some chatter towards the end of the trailer, which went on even during the first 30 seconds of the movie )
Assessment: **CONTAINS SPOILERS BUT IT'S BEEN TWO MONTHS ALREADY** This'll go on through two posts. Totally late, but here it is, the end of an era. A famous man once said, "We're in the endgame now," but he ain't as famous as my favorite Marvel hero, Tony Stark aka Iron Man.
As soon as tickets were released in my theater 12 days before Avengers: Endgame were released (at midnight, apparently, and I was still up that time ), I already reserved them and got good seats, and then the next day, I began my MCU movie marathon before Endgame. The hype for this one was insane. The first screenings here started at 6:01AM in some places while other theaters were open for 24 hours just for Endgame. I was lucky to be one of the first to see it, despite it being in the afternoon already, hours after spoilers have already hit the internet (which I was 95% able to avoid).
And what can I say, not only was the theater packed, but this was the most reactive crowd I've ever been to. There were big laughs in (obviously) funny scenes, faint gasps in the opening scene, a sigh of relief when Capt. Marvel showed up, bigger gasps when Tony angrily removed his arc reactor (can't remember if there were gasps too when Thanos was smashed), certain reactions during the elevator scene, "woah's" when Morgan showed up, and yes, a huge round of applause and lots of cheering and other reactions throughout the final battle, especially when Cap wielded Mjolnir, the portals scene, when Cap finally yelled out, "Avengers, assemble!", when all the heroes were charging against Thanos and the Chitauri, and when Tony wielded the Infinity Stones. There were also "nooo's" throughout the final battle when things got intense.
