Bliston thereafter receives another message from "Erdrik", proposing an alliance between the Eagles and Bats. The Bat King sits in contemplation.
Bliston decides to decline the offer after hearing of the ongoing battle at the Phoenix Islands.
Bliston: “It sounds like allying with the Eagles would now mean making ourselves enemies of the Lions again. That certainly won’t do...”
Coincidentally, a Vulture Sky Scavenger, hit by a blast from the Phoenix Temple’s turrets during the battle to the southeast, spirals toward here and crashes in the sea a few miles away from New Bat Island. The Ice Hunter craft breaks its own fall as it automatically freezes the water, becoming like an iceberg. Lycor and the pilot stumble out onto the ice island formed around the jet.
Vulture: “You’re an Imperial Knight, right? I saw as you fell that you wear the armor.”
Lycor: “Well... yes. Thank you.”
Vulture: “That must be New Bat Island. We can ask for a flight there.”
Lycor follows the pilot, as the vulture walks toward the island, creating an ice path atop the water.
A Bat patrol boat soon comes to them from the island, and brings the two there. The fire chi in the boat and powering various things on the island prevents the vulture from freezing everything he walks across.

Lycor and the vulture are offered a flight off the island, under the condition that Lycor tells Bliston everything happened in the Phoenix temple.
Bat: “I’m sorry, but your tribes don’t know you two are alive, so they wouldn’t know we’re holding you here... if you catch my drift.”
Lycor: “Hmph. It’s alright, I see how it is. Your King wants to be up to date on whatever wars are happening, while still being neutral...”
Lycor considers it, and agrees. He’s escorted to the throne room and talks to Bliston.
Bliston: “...So, this young man posing as Erdrik is a lion-eagle hybrid creature from ancient times, using the Eagle King’s mask and his Phoenix armor to hide his lion body parts. Clever kid... I’m guessing he came from the West Sea, and the Manta Ray Empire conquered his home, or something along those lines.”
Lycor: “Exactly what I was thinking, King Bliston. That would explain his hatred of them. I’m glad I told you about this, your tribe being the ones who encountered and destroyed the Manta scout ship. Now I understand why you didn’t make that public for so long... because of people like Galvanor.”
Bliston: “Correct. Thank you for telling me this, Lycor. The pieces of this puzzle are coming together nicely.”
Lycor: “Of course, I’m going to reveal Galvanor’s identity to the public anyhow. He’ll never see it coming, since he thinks he’s silenced me. His evil and selfish attempt to goad the people of Chima into spending resources and lives attacking the Mantas needs to be squashed.”
Bliston: “Well... everyone in a conflict thinks that their side is just, and that the other side is ‘evil’. But since you’re the one trying to avoid the costly war with the Mantas you described, the Bats will side with you on this, Lycor.”
Lycor: “Thank you, Your Highness.”
Bliston: “Having said that though, Galvanor’s reasoning might not be as selfish as you think. The Mantas we’d intercepted blatantly said to Balthazar that they’d conquer our eastern continent upon discovering it, before Balthazar prevented them from reporting back. Galvanor might be trying to destroy them before they destroy us.”
Lycor: “Mm. Well, I’ll be taking my leave now. Thank you, Your Highness, and goodbye.”

Bliston: “Oh, and I’m sorry about your uncle.”
Lycor nods and leaves. The vulture flies back to the battle at the Phoenix Islands, whilst Lycor is given a flight back to Lion City.
Bliston receives the message from the embassy on Mount Cavora.
Bliston: "...Now this is a surprise indeed."
Bat General: "Your Highness, what should we do?!"
Bliston: "Ready all of our forces except the Navy. We will crush Galvanor's attempt to claim Cavora."
The Bat General grins from ear to ear.
Bat General: "Yes, Your Majesty! We'll get right on that!"
Bliston rubs his chin as the bat excitedly leaves the throne room.
Bliston: "I recognize the irony here, in that the Bats will defend Cavora and its chi against the Eagles. Shows how much times have changed. Of course, my people will get the combat they've been starved of, but it's unfortunate that we must raise arms against our former longtime allies..."
Bliston rises from his throne and snarls: "...But then again, we saved the Eagles back when we first arrived in the inland, and this is how they repay us?! I now realize that this won't just be about Cavora. This is personal..."

A few minutes later, the news reaches Field Marshal Badrar outside the palace. A pained expression crosses his face, before being replacing by an expression of resignation as he goes inside and dons his battle armour.

The Bats power up and gather in an orderly formation in the sky above the island's eastern shores. The iconic Bat Javelin, fully repaired from any of the damage it sustained over time, and now blazing red and gold, is front and center, with King Bliston in one of the cockpits.
The command ship is flanked on either side (three on the left, three on the right) by the elite Gold Squadron; these are the last six fighters remaining from the very first batch of Wing Strikers ever produced. As such, their pilots have become renowned as the best of the best in the Bat Tribe, having fought through the Bat-Raven War, the Chima Alliance-Crawler Empire War, and the Crawler-Ice Hunter War (although some of the pilots and their jets were frozen during the last of those wars, they still managed to avoid destruction in battle). Continually refurbished, and with a special gold icon painted on one wing of each craft (as well as tally marks representing every battle these pilots have fought in etched into the wings), these Wing Strikers had been adorned with gold coloring even before their transformation through fire chi into the mostly red and gold color scheme.

OOC: Ah, so you're on team Galvanor. You cannot control Dr. Benjamin however, since he's my character, and please see my post on your HQ topic before you continue.

He is a named "NPC", yes, but that's actually the reason why we don't use the term "NPC" much anymore on this RP. He is, by all means, still my character who I control, even if he's a minor character. Additionally, even if that weren't the case, you still wouldn't be allowed to control him or the main Bat Tribe (re-read the rules I'd replied to you with on the Lion City topic).
