I was thinking of some flashback or something on my part just as the end of my character's tale. I don't have many out-of-the-box ideas if that's the case.

If that's what you'd like to do, that's fine with me. In my opinion, you don't need to do anything huge with him or bring any earth-shattering revelations. Just show up and get involved in the present events.
