Honestly, I think the sets won't tie into the story in any way and will just be there to commemorate 100 episodes. Remember, Lloyd lost his golden power, so the golden dragon can't exist anymore. And yes, the Ultra Dragon is dead, and there is no way Lloyd's power can bring it back. As for the Fire Temple, the ninja will be using the Monestary as their HQ, so I don't see why they would live in the Fire Temple.
Well I think it'd make more sense for the Fire Temple to be the HQ, since the original monastery got completely destroyed. Hopefully this wave won't be another Bionicle Stars situation, with downsized versions of older sets.
A clip shown at SDCC 2018 showed that the Monestary would be coming back in 2019, so that means the ninja will rebuild it. The ninja could settle down at the Fire Temple, but I don't see why.
Oh, and don't worry about these sets being a Ninjago Stars line, because the piece counts and prices make it clear they will be full sized. The exclusion is the Samurai X Mech, which only has 154 pieces. Also, the Monestary is going to have 1070 pieces, so it will be much larger than the original.

New set info has been released! Someone has presumably seen the new sets and have shared some new details. They include:
-The new spinjitzu sets have a new elemental tornado piece. It's hard to tell if they are done in a similar style to the Airjitzu flyers, Spinjitzu Masters, and Dragon Masters. -The ninja seem to have a new type of mask. -The Overlord is coming in set form again. He has a ghost tail from Possession in trans purple and four arms. -There will be a brick-built giant stone warrior similar to Giant Man and Ares from Superheroes. -The giant blade from Street Race of Snake Jaguar will come in gold. -The Earth Driller has a windscreen similar to the one from the Ultra Stealth Raider. -The Ultra Dragon has brick-built heads with printed eyes.
That's all for now! Remember that more info may come.

Leaks are coming in!
So, images of the new ninja masks have been revealed along with new torsos. It seems LEGO has ditched the two-part movie masks, meaning nobody will have to go through the bother of taking off the heads in order to take off the masks. Also, the fact that there are new suits coming makes me wonder if these actually tie into the story at all, which is something I was skeptical of at first.

Alright, so now we have seen the mask and torso of the new golden ninja minifigure! I can't make out the details on his torso, but I'm liking these suits so far. They seem simple, but they just work out nicely for me. Oh, and I guess Cole has ditched black in favour of grey and brown.

More minifigure leaks!
First off, we have confirmation that the ninja will be using the movie designs. The new golden ninja figure was fully leaked, and it has green eyes, meaning the movie designs will be used. A lot of people will be disappointed by this, but you have to remember LEGO is trying to keep brand synergy with the movie, so this makes sense.
Secondly, parts from the new Overlord figure have leaked, including the torso, armour, head and tail. Something interesting is that the armour has golden ribcage printing. Golden armour, anyone? The new figure looks cool, especially the use of trans purple, but I wish it used black instead of grey. Also, if the Overlord is coming back in the story, I think The J won't be happy, since he has said he wants the Overlord to never come back.

A new post! So now, there should be some great new info on the upcoming sets, right?
Well...not really. Recently, it was leaked that 70680 is not a new Fire Temple, but a small set called Monestary Training. I'm sure we can all hope that maybe this is fake, or the temple is coming under a different set number, but unfortunately, I thinks it's safe to say we won't be getting a new Fire Temple in 2019. Sorry for getting your hopes up, everyone. Especially you, LordTigress, since this was the set you were anticipating the most.

Brick.
That's life, I suppose. We can't all get our revamped LEGO Ninjago Fire Temple sets.

On the bright side...
*Wise old man impression*
...legend tells of an upcoming LEGO set known as the Ice Temple, labelled as 70630. It is said that this set does not release until fall 2018.
This is something that has been known about for quite a while now, but I didn't talk about it earlier because it's not really a 2019 set. So anyway, what are your thoughts about this as well as some other news I've shared recently?

Well, a below-ground ancient ice temple built Queen Elsa-style ( ) has a lot of potential to be an interesting build, especially with the chance that we could get a Shard the dragon figure -- really, the same goes for all these upcoming revamped sets. I guess 2019 will be the year for nostalgia for the older fans. All the recent 2018 sets have been undeniably cool, so there's little doubt these new ones will share the same vibe. I don't really like the idea of the Overlord coming back, though. What are your thoughts on that?

I knew you would make a Frozen reference.
I'm honestly wondering what this set is going to be. The closest things we've ever had to an Ice Temple in the show are the Frozen Wasteland (which isn't even an actual temple) and the Hanging Temple (which isn't from the early seasons). I'm thinking it'll be something new, but I honestly can't tell how it ties into the story. Of course, it could be fake, but I doubt it.
Yeah, the Overlord isn't too interesting compared to the villains that followed, but I guess he could be okay. I'm more interested in what The J thinks about it, though.
