The teaser for the new installment March of the Oni just got released, and like I predicted, it doesn't show that much from the new movie...or Season 10, as it's called for some reason.
The main focus is this mysterious cloud of darkness devouring everything, so I guess that warning from Garmadon was meant to be taken literally. If you pay attention, you'll notice that the Realm Crystal is actually in this trailer, so it looks like the Oni will be using that to escape. Nice that this movie will acknowledge continuity and not just forget about it like it was never there *Cough*Airjitzu*Cough*Elemental Dragons*Cough*.
The only thing from the Legacy sets that was shown in this teaser was the new suits, so the sets will at least have some relevance to the story. If the Legacy sets really are made for this movie, I'm expecting a second wave of sets with new content and minifigures of the Oni. After all, Hunted teased it, and this teaser actually does give a sneak peek at a new Oni minifigure. One theory I had earlier is that the first half will focus on the Legacy sets, and the second half will focus on the Oni, which does make a lot of sense to me. The second wave could be released in either Spring or Summer.
Finally, this teaser implies that the ninja are going to need help from Garmadon to defeat the Oni, which some people had already predicted. I could see this becoming an arc where Garmadon begins to rediscover his goodness, becomes a hero for Ninjago, and reunite with his family. Hunted did hint at this by having him adress Lloyd as his son again, hesitating to kill the remaining members of the Resistance, caring about Harumi, and the reveal that he was trying to protect Ninjago from the Oni the whole time. This leads me to believe that he'll redeem himself once and for all.
Despite how little it showed off, this was definitely an interesting teaser. It managed to give a good idea of where the story is going without spoiling too much. The creators have hyped it up quite a bit, but personally, I'll keep my expectations low this time. I don't want to end up disappointed.
The new teaser is cool but disappointing. It almost seems like we won't actually see any Oni. There are some interesting things, such as the "diamond". There's also the Oni at the end when it shows the title, and it appears to be wearing the Mask of Vengeance. I'm assuming the screen at the end (after the title reveal) is going to be the release date, which they'll probably reveal slowly. (The next trailer will probably just say 2019. The next will probably reveal the month. And the next teaser will probably reveal the day).

What? Why would this not have any Oni? Hunted teased us with minifigures of them, they've been confirmed to be the villains, and we see one of them at the end. You even mentioned the last one!

Sorry. I just realized my mistake. I meant to say the last Oni (most likely the leader) will probably be the only Oni minifigure we see. I feel like most of the time it will just be the giant cloud of destruction terrorizing everyone. I don't think we'll see a minifigure version until the very end.

Oh, I didn't notice that was the realm crystal! That's kinda... weird. Why didn't the SoG just steal that? It sorta messes with the past couple seasons. Something I forgot to mention is how it seems to take place years after season 9, since Garmadon says "Remember last time we met?". It sounds like its been awhile since the last time Lloyd saw Garmadon. I'm definitely looking forward to it, but, like you said, I'm keeping my expectations low.

Why would he be the only Oni minifigure we get? That would be like Mr E being the only member of the Sons of Garmadon. The other Oni probably weren't revealed to keep things under wraps.

Well, the trailer doesn't make it clear where the Realm Crystal is right now. It's possible that it was moved to a vault with much higher security than the one in Hiroshi's Labyrinth.
Garmadon's just asking Lloyd to remember when he warned him of the Oni. Nothing about that line implies that it was years since Hunted.

Well it is a teaser, like the new Avengers 4 trailer. And which new movie are you talking about? (I'm only up to Sons of Garmadon and seen the LEGO Ninjago Movie so forgive me if I encountered any spoilers).

It might be like Bionicle in 2016, where the entire first half of the year has just one actual villain, and the villain's army arrives in the second half of the year. To me, the dark cloud seems like a stand-in for a villain army.

Watch the new teaser after you've seen season 9: Hunted.
