Angela Sweetcrazy snapped her fingers and immediately after, three servants were at the side of her makeshift bed, fanning her down with large leaves.
“Come on,” she prodded with her thick British accent, “put some muscle into it, the heat is killing me here.” The air, in reality, was cool and crisp, like a spring morning after a rainy night. She simply enjoyed watching her servants go to great pains for her sake.
She had grown up the daughter of a very wealthy couple. A Count and Countess, actually, so she was practically royalty. From the day she was born she was an international star simply because of who she was. Her parents being very busy people, she was raised by a library of holographic films and virtual schooling. And of course, there were the butlers. Always nearby ready to fetch her anything she needed. She was always on the cover of some magazine somewhere in the New UK and couldn’t walk the streets without being swarmed by the paparazzi. She was an idol. When she heard of an interstellar voyage to discover a suitable replacement for Earth, she just had to join. Not only for the possibility of becoming the new planet’s ruler, and having it named in her honor, but also because the proposed planet was nearby the colony moon of BrickBook-5, a place she had always wanted to travel to for it’s fabled oceans, which were supposedly so beautiful, no words could capture them. She was certain the captain would be willing to make a stop at the planet for her. After all, she was Mrs. Angela Sweetcrazy, international idol. Then the unthinkable happened. Lady Luck no longer smiled down upon her, and the cruise vessel Lunar Dawn crashed into…this place. She hated it here. All the bugs, all the dirt. No videogames, internet, Holo-Films, VR. No clean water. No luxurious carpeting, or mattresses as soft as clouds, or five course royal meals fit for the Queen she was. None of that. Just bugs, dirt, hideous vegetation and horrible animals. Essa glared in distaste at all of it. “Jeremy,” she said. Another servant stepped forward. “Fetch me a glass of water would you? I’m absolutely parched.”
“Yes ma’am,” he said with a small bow, and walked over to the fire where a small pot of boiling water sat, along with a few tin cans they had scrounged up for cups. Sweetcrazy continued to stare distastefully around her. Nature. What an awful place. Jeremy returned with a can of water Sweetcrazy peered into it. It was tinted brown, with small flecks of dirt in it.
“Jeremy, is this clean? Does this look clean to you?” she chastised.
“It was boiled ma’am.”
“Well clearly not enough,” she said, tossing it away with disgust and handing the can back to the servant. “Go boil it some more.”
Jeremy lowered his head sheepishly. “Yes ma’am,” he said in a small voice, and hurried away.
Sweetcrazy gave an exasperated sigh. Sometimes the life of royalty was hard. “Are you deaf?!” she yelled at the servants with the fans, “I said fan harder! Put some muscle into it for brick’s sake!”
The servants began fanning harder their arms burning from the strain.
“When did you wake up?” Con asked in disbelief while releasing his hold on Essa, unsure of how he had missed the event.
“Just a few minutes ago. Boomer went off to find you. I saw you climbing down the tree over here. I wanted to surprise you,” Essa explained, then paused. “Boomer said you saved me.”
“Well, I mean…I- um…I guess- “ Con stammered. Essa grabbed him in another tight embrace. Con was filled with warmth.
“Thank you…” she said in a small voice.
“You woulda done the same thing for me…” Con replied. Essa released him, then, upon noticing that N-81 was watching, awkwardly punched Con in the shoulder. N-81 noted this and spoke up.
“Ah. Am I making things…’awkward’? I can depart if you- “
“It’s fine Nate…” Essa said, crossing her arms and turning away from Con with a small blush. An awkward silence followed.
“Soooo…” Con’s voice trailed off, “Nate, was there something you wanted to talk to me about?”
“Affirmative. It is my suggestion that we move camp.”
“What?! Why?! Shouldn’t we stay close to the ship?”
“The area is no longer safe. Last night’s attack proved that. Not to mention I managed to pull some data off of what was left of the ship’s computers, which revealed that the ship’s fusion drives are in a very unstable state. Detonation is almost certain.”
“Where would we go?”
“Terrain scans were corrupted, but enough was intact to make a rough map of the planet. There is a biome consisting mostly of grassy plains not far from here, and scans also indicate a structure, Terran in design.”
“You mean there’s other people here?!”
“Possibly.”
“We’re not alone here!” Essa piped up with excitement.
“I said possibly.”
“Did someone say there are other people here?” One of Sweetcrazy’s servants was running over. Essa nodded with joy.
“I said ‘possibly’!” N-81 was boiling with virtual frustration now. But no one was listening to him anymore.
“I must go tell Mrs. Sweetcrazy!” the servant cried, running off to his master.
“Alright, alright,” Con said, trying to calm down, “Nate! You have the map! As soon as everyone is here, you’ll lead the way!” Con darted off, Essa hot on his heels.

***************
The journey was long, and everyone was losing their patience. Andrew kept wandering off. Tad and Stan kept fighting. Sweetcrazy kept, well, being Sweetcrazy, and Con was beginning to argue with Boomer. Again. For Essa it was almost too much. They had been wandering through the forest for about 3 days now, she guessed. She was beginning to wonder about N-81. Behind them, Sweetcrazy’s servants dragged the metal husks that were the last two engineering model bodies that somewhat intact. She had figured out by now (with some explanation) that N-81, or, Nate, as she had grown to call him, taking it from Con, could transfer his AI to another shell, should his current one be damaged beyond repair. The downside was that, being an engineering droid, his AI would only be accepted by an engineering model shell. So when the last two were destroyed…well…no more Nate. The thought saddened and scared her, as, despite her annoyance with the bot when they had first met, she had developed a friendship now with their robotic companion. He was quirky, a trait she had not seen in any other android she had ever met. In fact, the fact that he had personality at all astonished her. Most androids were programmed to be lifeless, simply taking orders and blindly following them. Nate was different. Clearly his handler wanted a companion, not another servant. She wondered if Federation Law allowed for something like Nate to exist. She stored that in the back of her brain to ask him later. He was always going on about Federation Law this, Federation Law that. Nate suddenly froze. The rest of the group stopped behind them, doing their best not to pile into each other, as exhausted as they were.
“What’s the holdup?” Stan called from somewhere in the back.
“My sensors are detecting something. An odd fluctuation in the planet’s magnetic field. Temperatures appear to be dropping rapidly. Pressure is decreasing. Wind speeds are at…that’s not right…” N-81’s voice lowered to a mutter.
Essa shivered. “Could we keep moving? It’s freezing!” More voices from the crowd agreed with her.
“Come on, let’s move!”
“Why is it suddenly so cold?”
“Let’s go already! Your sensor reading can wait, I’m freezing here!”
“Gravity Anomaly detected. Hold onto something,” N-81 commanded in an icy voice. The group watched bewildered as small stones, twigs, and other bits and pieces began to float up from the ground. “Hold onto something right now!” N-81 threw his hand into a tree, creating an artificial hand hold. The next few seconds were a blur as people frantically wrapped themselves around tree trunks counted down.
“5…4…3…2…1…” he paused, “Event.”
The world was thrown upside down and the contents of Essa’s stomach rushed into her throat as dirt and stone and foliage hurtled into the air. Gravity was reversed. Essa could feel herself falling towards what was now considered “down” by the laws of physics. Her arms scraped against bark as she began to slip. One of Sweetcrazy’s servants lost his grip and fell upward, screaming with horror. Essa shut her eyes to the dizzying sight and tried to convince herself that he would be okay, and that she would live through this. Then she lost her grip.
“NO!!” Con cried with terror. Her heart froze with terror as she fell, clutching desperately at nothing. Then a metal hand caught her wrist, and relief flooded her as N-81 latched onto a tree branch. But the relief was short lived. The tree branch began to squeak and moan from the weight. All was silent now, the only sound was the failing tree branch. A harsh crack shattered the air as the branch gave away a little bit. Icy terror paralyzed Essa. This is it, she thought, I’m gonna die. The painful silence continued as the cracks resounded in intervals. No one dared to even breathe.

Aaaaaannnnnddd....CLIFFHANGER!!!!! That’s the end of chapter 7 guys! Before I leave to go write chapter 8 in yet another 3 hour writing session (no joke!) I wanted to leave a few messages and thanks. First, the message. You might be wondering, what happened to The Rogue Chronicles? Well, I just want to inform you that I am still working on it! Lately I’ve just had some issues coming up with material for the story, so I haven’t been devoting as much time to it as I have with this one. Do not worrry though! I will continue to occasionally post new story parts to it, just not nearly as often as i do with this story. We will see it through to the end! Once this story is finished, I will revert to devoting large amounts of time to finishing the story! Next, I want to ask, how are you enjoying “No Gravity” so far? I sincerely would love to hear the reviews of all of my readers. Anything you want to see in this story? A new character? A new creature? A sudden plot twist? Please, please tell me! I will take all suggestions into consideration! I take audience feedback seriously! Also, given how the story is going so far, would you like to see, if possible, a sequel? I’m not sure how it will work, but I’m sure I could make it happen should you so desire it!
Now, I would like to thank some people! The Mods, of course, I would like to thank for being willing to moderate my large story dumps on here! I would like to thank my readers for all of your continuing support! You have no idea how much it means to me!
Speacial thanks, of course, to: Essa & Con! Thanks for putting up with this story despite all the shipping craze right now!
I doubt it. At least don't lose any sleep. It's not like it's true, at least that I know of. Besides, I have a feeling that Sweetcrazy will show up anyday now and the blitz will begin. It's should end up lighthearted and amusing. At least that's what I guess will happen.
*loses tons of sleep* Oof, let’s hope Sweetcrazy doesn’t see her character in my story... XD Let’s hope.
Amazing. You just did everything exactly the opposite of what I said to do. You didn't even try to sleep! Don't worry about it. If she finds it, just make sure you don't think she's really like that at all.
Ik, that's really why I only silent read on Ninjago a little bit. XD Well Nycole was generally the aggressive one. but yes jaya was obviously right Eh, I really don't care what people ship as long as there's no hurt going around. Write away with no convictions.
It’s not still a thing is it? I thought they were all aggressive... (obviously) Yeah, same here. My main concern is Sweetcrazy. I don’t want her to take her character the wrong way... XD I’m not writing her character as a snob because I think she is one (and I don’t, for the record), but it was kinda just a random pick thing. Just the first user that came to mind. My characters don’t usually reflect my opinions of the users who play them.
………sure. From what I saw yes-ish. Just make it "inescapably clear" what you just told me. Totally makes sense. Same thing for mine (though I do try to put them into the character for realistic….ness, e.i. Dumbles is not really in his late thirties with rage issues. ) Alllll good.

*NOOOOOOO!!! Passes out from the strain of such a massive cliffhanger*
Cool! Looking forward to it. Loven it! Yes. All of the above. XD I have to say, the title of the story makes so much more sense now. XD
Yay for da moddies!!
No prob. XD I'll just sit here, enjoy the awesome story, and bit back insane comments. XD
Crack! Snap! Squeak! The sounds seemed deafeningly loud to Essa as she held her breath and waited for death, shutting her eyes tight against impending doom, hoping it would flee her life and leave her be. The silence was worse. Emptiness. Emptiness that would inevitably lead to her doom. She was in peril, and nothing, not even Con, could save her now. Gravity returned suddenly, as if the planet had exhaled after holding it’s breath. Essa slipped from N-81’s grasp, plummeting to the forest floor 13 feet below her. The undergrowth broke her falls, saving her from broken bones. N-81 dropped to the ground, his metal frame slamming onto the jungle floor with a harsh thud that created a small crater around his feet.
“Gravity Event concluded. Temperature and pressure returning to normal. Wind speeds picking up. Gravity Event lasted approximately 7 seconds,” N-81 reported.
7 seconds?! It felt like an eternity!! Thought Essa, shocked.
“The Anomaly has not concluded. The planet’s gravity field is still fluctuating oddly, indicating that the Events will only get increasingly worse at an alarming rate.”
“Wonderful,” said Sweetcrazy with bitter sarcasm.
“Andrew?!” Stan’s frantic voice called out, “Andrew?! Where are you?!” All was silent now was the desperate older brother began calling out into the forest.
“Stan- “ Tad’s voice broke before he could finish.
“What? Did you see him?”
“Yeah…just before the ‘event’ happened…I caught a glimpse of him…running into…into…” Tad began to break down sobbing, simply pointing out into the woods now.
“You saw him wandering off while we were all preparing for that…that…thing to happen?! And you didn’t bother to stop him?”
“I was!! I was about to! And then…and then…it…it just…brick man, he was just gone!”
“He…he…” Stan’s voice broke with grief. Tad could only shrug. Stan’s face became twisted with rage and grief as he threw himself at his younger brother, pinning him against a tree. “This is your fault!! This is all your fault!!” Tad, who was just as tall and strong as his older brother, pushed Stan off, now affected by the same emotions that affected his older brother.
“Don’t you pin this on me! I told you we could have left him with our uncle! If you had just listened to me for once in your life he would be back on CC-76 safe and warm, so don’t you pin this on me!!” Stan got up and threw himself once more at Tad, and an intense fight followed, both wrestling on the ground.
It was too much for Essa to watch. She bolted over to where the two wrested on the ground while the rest of the group circled around and watched with wide eyes.
“Stop it!” Essa screamed, “Stop it! Nate! Do something for brick’s sake!” N-81 stepped into the fight, pulling Stan off Tad while planting his foot on Tad’s chest to prevent him from getting up and continuing the fight. Stan struggled against N-81’s iron grip but did not escape.
“Stop it!” N-81 looked up at Essa, confused. But Essa hadn’t spoken. The group turned surprised eyes to see Andrew standing before them, his hair ragged and unkempt, his face smudged with dirt and covered with small cuts and bruises.
“Andrew!!” Stan yelled, tearing himself free of N-81’s grasp and darting forward to hug his youngest brother.
“I told you to call me-“ Andrew started between coughs.
“Agent Ultra, yeah I know,” Stan said smiling as he embraced his brother. “What happened to you?”
“I found this little cave and crawled inside of it. I heard something in there. It was like a low…growling. Suddenly I saw theses two yellow eyes looking at me. They were glowing…like the trees were that one night. I panicked and started to crawl outta there, when suddenly it was like I was floating, then fell up against the ceiling of the cave. I was really scared,” Andrew stammered, tears streaming down his face.
“It’s alright now…” Tad said softly, stepping forward.
“No!” Stan yelled, shoving Tad back, “You get away! He could be gone right now because of you!”
Tad staggered back, wide eyed. Then his face contorted with grief and he darted off into the woods.
“Wait!” Essa yelled, starting after him, but Con caught her arm.
“Leave him be. He’ll be fine.”
“But there’s something else out there! You heard the kid!”
“There’s always something else out there, Essa! Besides, the kid could have imagined it, as scared as he was! He’ll be just fine!” Con said soothingly. Essa lowered her head.
“You’re right…you’re right…” she said, waving the subject away with her hand, “I’m just still a little worked up, I guess. He’ll be okay…”
The group continued on their way. A few hours later, Tad rejoined them. It was a few more hours until they reached the plains, running out into the brown grassy fields with joy. Essa flung herself down into the tall grass that reached up her waist. She watched another Tree-Crawler scamper past her. This one was slightly wider and a tan, golden color that made it blend in with the grass.
