(No worries, I'z is cool with hyper. ) Mm, by now, six years in total. If I recall correctly, I started off doing a haphazard mixture of western and english, learning the basics of riding in the States alongside children with physical handicaps. Now in Germany, I ride dressage alongside German girls. We don't really do much, depending on the trainer we have, but we're slowly sharpening our skills as riders. I've never competed in any horseback-related activity in my life; sadly, my riding life has been restricted only to the few days we drive to the barn to have our lesson. I wish I could spend more time with horses and just have them in my life constantly. :/ Oh, no way! How fun! What's she like? I've only ever ridden horses with a snarky attitude and a wry sense of humor.
(YAY! XD) Wow awesome! Favorite breed(s)? Ah hah. : D Western for me. Never got a chance at english but I would prob give it a fair try. Okay, now, dressage is hard. XD I respect that skill.
That makes sense. You being an introvert it might be better to avoid the highly competitive areas of horse world. *sighs* don't we all wish more time with horses. I can feel you're longing as currently I'm seperated from my horse by about 15 hours. 3:
Indeed! And lots of responsibility. XD A snarky attitude with a wry sense of humor. XD XD She pretends she hates the world (cause she had a bit of a rough start) but sometimes she forgets and I can see the neediness. : )
Oh, gosh, I don't really know. . . I really love Arabians, mustangs, and Appaloosas -- but I just love horses in general. xD The only difference between riding western and English for me was the different saddles -- but then, my riding education was a little off. Yeah. . . I didn't even know I was doing dressage until it was too late, and then I thought, "oh, snap -- I'm running with the pros here!"
I'm sure -- I mean, trying my hand at some sort of competition sounds interesting and exciting, but the competitiveness of any sport can get really stressful and suck the fun out of the whole thing. Aww. ó.o You must miss her. Surely you'll be back home soon?
Aw, that's sweet. :3 Even snarky horses -- and people -- need some love.
Every week; I take lessons alongside German peers in dressage. I wish I could ride and hang out with horses a lot more, but eh, this is still a pretty good deal.

Lol same. XD My bro owns an Appy! : D Leopard or blanket spots? Lol, I feel like english saddles might be harder to stay in after sitting deep in western ones so long. Still awesome though! I would like to try different areas of skill sets other than pleasure but I don't know if I have the right horse for that. XD
Exactly. I found that (for me at least) halter, color and showmanship were low key enough and simple enough for fun. : D Yea. ( ..) I gotten to visit her a few times thouhg. :3 Hopefully. As soon as we choose a home to get back too.
In a bratty horse way, yes! :3 Very true, and I was rewarded with her becoming pretty much a one person horse.

Aw, sweet! I don't care, they're both so darn cute! xD
Yeah, one does need strong thighs to stay in the saddle, though personally I prefer it, because it gives me more room to wiggle around, and because some of the dressage exercises we do can't cooperate with a big honking saddle horn poking our bellies. Same here -- well, I guess I'm learning different things anyway, but I'm not sure if I ever learned to ride western properly.
Brick, you've been in shows and competitions like that? Wow. How many have you done? Hopefully soon. :3 Ah, I see -- are you in the middle of moving or something?
Gotta love bratty horses. xD Aww, that's awesome. You two must make a pretty great team.

That's cool. What horse do you ride?
I ride. . .
I have no idea, because everything's in German and my language skills aren't advanced enough for me to ask someone the breed of the horse I ride.
