No one knows how the Rock got there. It was assumed it crashed from the heavens, but no one really knows. The tribe that lived there had struggled with crops. They refused to grow. They were going to starve. Then it came. The crops began to grow better, the weather changed from hostile to welcoming, and it was generally a better place to be.
They found the Rock. It was in a small crater, but the land around it was astonishing. This was one of the more barren parts of the planet. Now it was a lush paradise, filled with plant life. Back to the Rock. It was small, and red. Anyone who went to touch it was destroyed almost immediately. They, over a period of time, built a temple around it. The Temple of the Rock of Power, they called it. They worshiped the Rock like a deity. That was the closest they could come for an explanation of its immense power.
The Rock was the most valuable thing in that sector of the Galaxy. It was sought after, but no one knew where to find it. Bounty hunters searched far and wide for it, without knowing what it was, only that it was worth a lot of Units. Until a few found it......
Rocket was bored. He had spent all day trying to fix his Anti-Mass Decharger, but to no avail. Maybe it was unwise to challenge the Nova Corps so boldly. Oh well. “I am Groot.” he heard a familiar voice say. ”Yes I know it wasn’t my best idea.” Rocket replied. ”I am Groot.” Groot continued. ”Yeah. And?” Rocket said, exasperated. ”I... am... Groot?” Groot said. ”NO! No that is a horrible idea! We can’t ask them to fix it!” Rocket screamed. He sighed. “Let’s look for some new bountys.” Rocket went over to his computer and searched through. He went through some on the heads of gangsters, then he found an interesting one. “The Rock... small red stone... found in the Arebazzi sector, hey! That’s where we are! What’s the price... 5,000,000 units!” he exclaimed. ”I AM GROOT!” Groot cried with joy. ”We’re gonna be rich! Let’s go find this Rock!” Rocket then went to the ship controls and started to pilot the ship.
A Ravager B-Ship flew through space. It was blue, and orange, the usual colours of a Ravager ship. The interior was a mess. Tools lying everywhere. There was something to stand on at every turn. “Come And Get Your Love” was playing. A somewhat famous song from Terra, or Earth as the inhabitants called it. A man danced around. He was young, handsome, wearing a Ravager coat. He was Peter Quill, or Star-Lord as he called himself. He was the owner of this ship, upon which he had bestowed the name “The Milano” after his childhood crush, a famous Terran named “Alyssa Milano”.
Quill had been given a mission by his Ravager Clan, and it’s leader, Yondu Udonta. In the Arebazzi sector, a precious stone had a bounty on it. 5,000,000 units, for this one stone. The Ravagers wanted it, so they could collect the bounty. Quill, a trusted associate of Yondu’s, was tasked with finding it. No one knew what planet it was on, only it was in this sector. I can't get that image out of my head. My teacher played that song a few weeks ago, and I started dancing like Peter.
Ronan The Accuser. A Kree warlord. He was extremely powerful. He had an army of loyal soldiers, a fleet of ships, and he had Gamora and Nebula. The two daughters of Thanos. He had lended them to Ronan for his schemes. Ronan may have been powerful, but he wanted more. More power. He had heard the old tales, of a special rock. A Rock that held untapped power. Who knows what he could do with such a powerful item.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t easy to find. No one knew the exact location, only that it was in the Arebazzi sector. There was a bounty on it, some 5,000,000 units. But Ronan didn’t want money. He wanted the Rock. He planned to send a task force to retrieve the Rock. Then Gamora had come to him. “Don’t send a team. Send me, alone.” Gamora said. ”And why would I do that?” Ronan replied. ”Because I’m your greatest asset. I can get it done.” she told him. Ronan thought about this for a second. “Fine. I’ll send you alone.” he conceded. “But do not fail me.” Gamora smiled. “Have I ever?” she asked.
Drax The Destroyer had nothing. Nothing, except for a pair of trousers, two knives, and a small fighter he stole from a Nova Corps Officer. All because of Ronan The Accuser. And Thanos. They killed his family, devastated his homeworld. And he wanted vengeance. But they had armies. They were powerful. Drax was one person. There was no chance he could take them all on on his own. Unless he was as powerful as them...
He had recently heard of a Rock. Small, red. They said it contained unlimited power. But no one knew where it was. Drax was going to be the one to find out. And when he had it, he would devastate Ronan and Thanos’ forces. Then he would smash them. But first he needed the Rock. There was a bounty on it, 5,000,000 units. But money did not interest Drax. Revenge interested Drax. All that anyone knew was it was located in the Arebazzi sector. There weren’t many planets there, it wouldn’t take long to find it.
Kosomani was a small world. Had some jungles, some forests. A native people resided there. They weren’t very advanced, but could grow crops, and build structures. However, they still worshipped a deity. One of ultimate power. It even took a physical form, that they could look at.
It was a small rock.
Times were tough. The weather was bad, and crops didn’t grow. Some even began to doubt the future of the species. Some observed an object fall from the sky. A meteorite. The next day, crops were fine. The weather took a turn for the better. The natives assumed it was this meteorite’s falling that had ushered the change. They sought it out. Eventually, they came to an area filled with plant life. There was not a similar area on the planet. In the centre of it, in a small crater, they found the Rock. They knew the significance almost immediately, and bowed down to it.
They couldn’t touch it, however. The one who touched it, was disintegrated almost immediately. They built a temple around this rock. The Temple of the Rock of Power. At least, that’s what the rough translation was. They regularly went to the temple, and worshipped it. They prayed to it, that their crops would grow, that there would be no storms. All was good, and they assumed it was all down to their rock-god.
