But only because I haven't read the books. If I read them I'd like them.
oh shoot now im gonna be forced to read another series on top of the thirty other books i have eek
In case you are wondering, Mockery-boi, Halt is like a mix of Sensei Garmadon and the TFA version of Han Solo. and matilda ravencroft I think you'd like him.
A very loud and obnoxious voice is heard through a speaker at the end of the hallway. "ATTENTION VACATIONERS! I the fantabulous Jay, am pleased to announce the hotels new library. Why a library you may ask? Because I have space and money. Stop asking dumb questions." *Click*
Standing in the tunnels, Tigress hears the intercom and cocks her head, listening. Once it ends, she mutters. "A library? Cool. I'll check it out once I'm through with these tunnels. Maybe it has my missing Ranger's Apprentice book."
Hey, it's all cool. I'm just glad everything turned out alright.
Leaf notices that almost everyone has run to the tunnels. She shudders at the thought of closing walls and darkness and decides to turn her attention to the security cameras instead. "Hmm, there must be a surveillance room somewhere. Finding it would definitely shed more light to the situation...and bring more scoops!" She takes out her little notebook and pen then travels up-n-down to each deserted floor. "Alright. Time to get to work."
*dramatically sips tea* For courage.
On his way to the cafe, the chivalrous Steve just so happens to chance upon Tigress. He waves his rubber chicken named George at her. "Why hello there good sir! I'm on my way to the cafe. Care to join me madam?" He twirls his rubber chicken and immediately smacks himself in the face with it. "GEORGE. WE'VE TALKED ABOUT THIS." Continues twirling it. Smacks himself in the face again. "GEORGE STOP THIS AT ONCE!" He throws the unfortunate George violently onto the floor and kicks it across the hallway. "Ahemhem." He straightens his unruly hair. "Sorry about all that. NOW. Where were we friend?" Blanks out. "AH! Oh yes! Supper! Care to join me?"
Tigress watches blankly as George is kicked across the hallway. Then, blinking repeatedly, bites back a smile and replies. "Eh -- maybe later, Mister --?" She bites her lip in thought, trying to remember the dude's name, then continues. "--Steve! You're Steve, right? Yeah, but maybe I'll come down in a few minutes. I'm. . . checking out something." The last bit she mumbles evasively, though gives a small, casual smile.
As you continue arguing in the dark, stuffy, cramped tunnels of depression you see a small door slowly creaking open, casting an elongated rectangle of light across the dusty floorboards.
Will you investigate the matter? Or will you fight to the DEATH?
if you opt for fiting to le death I have my popcorn waiting
Your choice.
[I'm, defiantly not going to fight to the death... I wanna see where that light is coming from. ]
"Hold up. Whats that?" Bear asks, suddenly distracted by a ray golden light, streaming onto the dusty ground. She crawled towards it, the walls of the narrowing passageway rubbing up against her. Finally reaching her destination, Bear peered through the opening. "By golly, it's a secret room!"
Tigress, on the verge of spouting about half a dozen logical fallacies at Emarcee's hostile accusations, stops when Bear orders them to "Hold up". "What is it?" Tigress turns, and realizes that a small door is slowly creaking open, casting a dim ray of light across the dusty, gritty floorboards of the tunnels. She catches sight of a small figure crawling toward the door, and with a start she realizes Bear is already making her way to the enigmatic entrance. "Hey, wait up!" Tigress calls as she follows eagerly. She turns off her flashlight with a click, seeing that the light, dim as it was, was enough for them to see by. She hears Emarcee give an irritated grunt behind them. For a split second, Tigress wonders what happened to Mock, who had told her he would join her in the tunnels. Welp, you snooze, you lose. Pushing aside the thoughts of her brother, Tigress joins Bear at the threshold and peers in. Her eyes widen with interest, and she breathes. "Oh, my bricks. . ."
*stutters whilst being shaken* I-I-I w-w-ould if y-you w-would j-j-just l-le-let go-go!
Holy cow, you're a fan, too!? Awesome!! I've only just started the series (I'm going to read Book 4 as soon as I'm done with John Carter of Mars), but thus far my favorite character is Halt -- his cleverness and dry wit know no bounds! Who's your favorite character -- if I know them yet?
Tigress blinks when she realizes someone is addressing her, then relaxes when she sees it's her brother. She gives as shrug, but replies. "I dunno about you and the rest of the gang, but I wanna check out those tunnels." At this a mischievous glint comes to her eyes. "If I were a smasher, I'd totally use those tunnels as a way to get around to my victims and escape quickly. Maybe the culprit left a clue." She pauses, then adds. "Plus, I want to find out where my stuff has gone. Some of it is missing from my suitcase. I was reading one of those Ranger's Apprentice books, and I was totally left at a cliffhanger when I lost it!"
[Beats me. That's why I asked.]
Mock grimaced. "You want to explore the tunnels where you think the killer was?!" He re-stated in shock. Taking a moment to think over his option, he thought and looked back at Tigress. "I guess I'm behind you." He declares. "Just don't expect me to lead the way."
[Well, others are doing it, too, so. . . When in Rome. . .]
Tigress grins at Mockingbird's disgusted expression. At his announcement of following her into the tunnels, she replies. "Fine. But if you get lost, I'm not going back to look for you." With that, she turns and heads for the entrance in his room, swinging a leather satchel over her shoulder.
"Defending myself from and aggressing against whoever the murderer is, obviously. Also: you have no excuse. I came from that direction."
Emarcee says, pointing behind him.
"There's a series of tunneles with an entrance in Mock's room! which means that whoever the murderer is, they're likely on the other side of the tunnel. The fact remains: you have no alibi, and your name is reminiscent of a deadly animal. Give me one good reason why I should trust you."
Just because you came from that direction means nothing.
BearSoliloquyEmarcee Tigress yelps and jumps back, staring wildly at the spear pointed at her and the hissing electricity lighting up the dark tunnels. She snaps. "Hey, cool it, man! I'm not the bad guy--!" She gives a brief gesture to Bear, frozen stiff with terror beside her. "--And I'm pretty sure she's not, either! You're the one with the spear." At this thought, Tigress blinks, then narrows her eyes at Emarcee, a glint of suspicion flickering. "Say. . . what are you doing in here with that thing, anyway?"
As you explore the darkening hallways and rooms, you notice something peculiar in the old elevator. No button to press to take you to Floor 1.
Floor 1 is inaccessible.
Will the spoopy set of stairs in the lobby take you there? Or will you continue investigating elsewhere?
Your choice.
*Breaks down elevator wall O:<*
Leaf takes note of that then enters the lobby. Upon seeing the spoopy stairs, she decides to begin the great descend into the unknown. She explores the darkness with a mini flashlight installed in her trusty pen. Her heart pounds loudly as she finally reaches the bottom. "Well, here we go."
You enter a dark spooky hallway that seems to go on forever in the pitch black. Picture frames line it's dusty walls. You shine your flashlight into the unknown, squinting. The light shines upon a crumpled object further down the hall. As you trek forward into the musty passage of depression, you notice the poor condition of the walls.
"Looks like this place hasn't been used in awhile." You say, poking at a piece of crumbling mortar.
You reach the end of the hallway. A broken down security camera smashed on the floor. A clue? Or just the result of someone with a strong dislike towards camera's?
A note is stuck to the camera.
You read it.
To see through me you'll have to be somewhere safe and hidden. Where secrets hide and darkness bides where noises are forbidden.
YES I love Rangers Apprentice! I LOVE IT. ^_^ Haha, Yes! Halt is by far, THE BEST CHARACTER TO EVER EXIST. ( he really reminds me of my grandpa )
I'm new to the fandom, and I already love it!! When it comes to characters, Halt's pretty hard to beat. (Ha ha, that's awesome! Don't tell me your grandpa is skilled in archery, too! ) How long have you been a fan?
Haha sweet! ^_^ How can anyone not love it? Halt's the hardest person to beat. ( He's not skilled in archery (Although admittedly that would be pretty sweet) But their personalities are very similar. It makes it way more fun to read when Halt is being Halt, and I think, "Hey! Grandpa would totally do that too." ) Hmm... About three years. I've collected nearly all of the books and I've reread the series 3 times. I LOVE IT TOO BITS. I even got my dad to love it. (Thanks to Halt and his lovely personality)
But only because I haven't read the books. If I read them I'd like them.
