Hello! I’m a writer, so I figured this would be a good chatroom to join. My current project is a fan fiction for an obscure LEGO theme called Hero Factory.
Hi! Cool, welcome. Ah yes Hero Factory, I only know a little about it, I remember when it was still an active theme though. What's your Hero Factory fan fiction going to be about?

So the premise of my story is that Hero Factory is worried about running out of quaza (the mineral that Hero Cores are made from), so they develop a prototype suit of Hero armor for humans and recruit a human named Thomas McPherson to give it a test run. He takes the name Blaze and joins Alpha Team on several missions.
(This character is based on a custom set I ordered from LEGO’s Hero Recon Team service.)
At the same time, a new villain is terrorizing the galaxy. And he persuades Mark Surge (one of the canon Heroes) to leave Hero Factory and join him!
I came up with the concept for this story way back in 2011, and I wrote it in 2014. However, I’m now rewriting it from scratch because my writing skills have improved a lot in the last six years, and because I retconned several details of it while working on a sequel.

Hey, that's cool! How long have you been working on it?

I came up with the original concept back in 2011 and wrote the first version of the story in 2014. Last year, I decided to rewrite it from scratch, but I got writer’s block and didn’t make much progress. I got back to it a couple weeks ago and set a goal to write at least one chapter per week, which has been working out well for me.
What, that's amazing!!!!!! I'm sure I would read it!!!! Publishing a book sounds like such a dream!!
Well, this one I'm going to publish as a ebook online that can also have hard copies ordered. So it's not anything too big. But yeah, I guess it is cool!
Well, I would consider publishing a book in any manner or form to be a pretty big accomplishment, so congratulations!

That's great! I find that setting a daily or weekly goal works well for me, too. Do you have a deadline set for yourself as well?

Yes. Since I am anticipating that the story will have 14 chapters, and I’m giving myself two weeks for proofreading and revision, my goal is to be finished before July 13.
Good point. xD I'll have to be careful not to do that. (I did recently though.)
(Whoops.XD) What kind of stories do you typically enjoy creating in your head, if you don't mind sharing? :3
Uh, weird, random stuff. xD One was about a girl who was given a magic violin by an elemental spirit in the form of a wolf. When she played the violin, it called all the foxes of the forest to her and she became the caretaker of the forest and protected the foxes from the evils in the forest. I kinda want to write a story based off of it, but it would need more plot and stuff.

Wow, not too long, nice. Meanwhile my deadlines are more vague, typically "before I go to college".

Ooooh, enchanting. I like. I could definitely see that being a mysterious little fantasy novel. :3

Thanks. Yeah, if I don't get bored with it and quit first, of course. xD
