I don't see why not. Besides the fact they lived in 1985, they seem like they could fit into the modern world without causing any serious damage to reality.
Of course, I only read a basic online summary, so if there is anything significant like a reality-warp of inter-dimensional travel, let me know.
But as long as no one objects, the Watchmen are DC Comics canon. They can be permitted.
