Project SHaRP
Some stuff I wrote
I have a few new ideas. First is what happens to an RPC when defeated.
Defeated RPC Rules
If an RPC is defeated, one of two things happens. These two things are called House Arrest and IC Arrest.
IC Arrest means that if a Hero, Villain or Variable is defeated in battle, the victor is capable of deciding the loser's fate.
E.g., say Superman loses in a fight to Lex Luthor. Superman is unconscious due to exposure to kryptonite. Lex Luthor transports Superman to LexCorp where he encases Superman within a kryptonite cage. Superman cannot escape and is captured (or possibly killed, but we'll discuss that later).
Superman is imprisoned with no escape. Now he can only escape if he escapes on his own, or if someone else breaks him out.
In short, the winner may imprison the loser if the winner has an adequate holding cell.
There is no time limit to being imprisoned. You stay in your prison until you are logically free.
Now, say you're a Villain. Lex Luthor. You lose to Superman in a fight. You don't really get a fair trial due to the fact everyone saw you destroy Wayne Enterprises. You dirty rat.
Anyway, Superman decides to use IC Arrest and imprison you. You are given a sentence, like four months. You are sent to wherever Superman chooses, such as Pleasent Hill, or Arkham Asylum. Either way, you stay there and live out your sentence until someone breaks you out or until your time is up. No parole.
Now, say Superman puts you in a place like the Phantom Zone, you don't escape unless someone gets you out. Of course, this is only for rare occasions, and f Superman has the Phantom Zone Projector.
Now for House Arrest. Say Superman is defeated by Lex. Again. Lex just leaves Supes there to suffer, so Superman returns to his home base and has to recover for one week. Seven days.
To recap:
IC Arrest: The loser is imprisoned by the winner in an IC prison until the loser escapes or until his sentence is over.
House Arrest: The loser returns to his headquarters and remains there for seven IRL days.
Any questions?
Next, the little matter of starting posts. This is a pet peeve of mine, but I feel it must be spoken for the good of the Roleplay.
A starting post should be clear, informative, and clean. Proper punctuation, accurate details, simple descriptions. Believe me, there's a grey area.
In short, and I'm not saying this because I want to rank up, I would like to post most of the topics.
By myself.
I mean, if that's cool with everyone. I just want to generate clear and informative starting posts to keep the roleplay efficient and easy to play in.
Like I said, I only want this job because I am, admittedly, a neat freak.
So anyway, yeah. There's that. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
Also, if there are any cities, headquarters, locations, or other topics you would like to suggest, please tell me so I can write up some starting posts.
Finally, I propose a new kind of OOC Topic. A Theoretical Outcome Discussion. This is basically where you discuss theories on what would happen in certain situations.
For example, if the Batbot and the Hulk-Buster armor did a rather violent fist bump, would a robotic fist shatter? Could Superman, the embodyment of pure heroics, lift Thor's hammer?
We are crossing over two whole universes, and not everything's going to be peachy clean. I figure this topic would be a good place to put out evidence and resolve complicated events and phenomenon.
That's about it for today. Also, if no one objects to the rules so far, I will officially request a Roleplay Subforum on October 10th (if all goes according to plan).
Thanks for everything! -DC13
Another thing: I know a few of you are bummed about the Crossover Act being abolished, but for the purity of the roleplay, it was the best thing to do.
BUT, if we get enough support, I could request a Super Hero Crossover Roleplay Subforum in addition to the MARVEL and DC RP. Same rules, minus the No Crossover rule.
That's right. Doctor Who, Phineas and Ferb, The LEGO Batman Movie (including Harry Potter, Godzilla, Lord of the Rings), all of those crossovers could be in one just-because-we-can-and-it's-fun roleplay.
State your opinions. Thanks.
Also, I encourage you to tell your friends about the roleplay. If you have IRL friends who like that sort of thing, mention that to them. Tell friends on other websites, or at the least, other roleplay forums on the LMBE. Jus' spread the word.
One more thing! ( <-- TV reference) I encourage everyone to STAY IN CHARACTAH! I encourage heroes to be heroic and go on patrol, I encourage villains to form devious plans and schemes, and I encourage variables to pick a side and stick to it.
A roleplay is only as fun as the villains who plague it.
This was just a brief message. Something that kept popping up in the old RP was the fact the villains just went all willy-nilly doing whatever they wanted. Granted, the heroes (which, in all fairness, were very few) did almost nothing to stop it. But I feel the new RP is going to be a grand upgrade.
One more thing! I just had the idea of a bi-monthly head count. Every two months, all members who do not state their activity will lose their RPCs. Said RPCs will become open to whoever wants them. That way great characters won't be hindered by inactive users.
One more thing! I encourage custom storylines. E.g., the Hulk is on a rampage in Gotham City, and Batman has to take him down. Stuff like that.
Or Wonder Woman vs. Thor. Now, THAT would be epic. of course, that may wipe out western civilization...
P.S. I wrote this before we actually received the subforum, so bear with me.
