Here are my thoughts on calendar events: I like deliveries from the motherland, which would include money, materials, and what else? As for weather and seasons, I definitely think there should be weather and seasons. Seasons should be easy, just rotate them every couple of months. As for weather, I have a way of randomizing it, but what weather do you guys want? So far I have:
Clear Windy Stormy Hurricane
How often do you all want weather rotated, and what chance should each one have of appearing? What I'm thinking is:
Clear, 1/2 Windy, 1/4 Storm, 1/6 Hurricane, 1/12
We also need to consider how powerful the storms are, like if a hurricane can destroy every ship in the area. I'd say the weather should be changed maybe once a day, or every few days. The storms would become disruptive if on for to long. The rotation looks good to me.
Alright, we seem to be forming lots of ways to make money. Here's a complicated one. What about ransoms?
As we have seemed to have decided, a defeated fighter goes to jail. But what if, for example, Pirate Legobuilder DOES kidnap the daughter in Shamrock's group? Would she go to jail, or could Legobuilder run off with her and do as he pleases? If the latter, are ransoms allowed? This would create a way to make a load of cash, if the target is willing to pay. Any thoughts on if this would work or not? I'm not sure, thanks to the jail topic, but I thought it could still be brought up.

Yeah, what I'm thinking is clear does nothing, wind just causes slightly rougher seas and slows travel time, stormy causes a certain amount of damage to a ship, and a hurricane immediately sinks all ships. I agree with weather being rotated daily, as it would be annoying if there was a hurricane for a week and you basically wouldn't be able to do anything. As for announcing the daily weather, how does it sound if I had a topic where I'd post the weather daily? And if I can't be on that day I'll try my best to post ahead of time and the weather would automatically be clear.
Yes, you did. I've done that kind of stuff before, but I never knew how to join LMB ones; they always seemed strict enough that I couldn't just hop in. Can I only join a RP if I'm part of the planning?
you can join anytime, partaking in this will get you a better place but isn't necessary .
Use the five powers that were actually relevant at the time of the Golden Age of Piracy and have the others join up with them. Russia would have never been involved in the Americas. Same with Prussia. America didn't exist yet.
I'm playing as the sole Pirate captain. Anyone else want to semi-join me? At least provide some piratical competition? Also, I'll make a merchant-trader sort of guy as well to dominate the economy of the Caribbean.

Ok we have decided there will be 5 main powers, or six I think Russia is one. everyone else will be Pirates, if someone joins say the Brits they should be a Captain for starters and get a ship, every leader needs a flagship, they can become Admirals and all of that stuff. everyone makes money by how many ports they have. you buy soldiers and weapons, mostly swords, muskets and cannons, you can trade with others, we all need rare materials in our lands, weather is being discussed.

I think we should make it a Pirates RP. The theme, forum, and roleplay is called Pirates, not European Warfare.

Yeah, Pirate characters should start with their own (small) ship and European characters start with whatever ship their king gives them.
Money is made by selling goods to Europe, other colonies, and *shudder* pirates if necessary.
Yeah. Soldiers should be bought, not earned with Army Points. That's how it was handled in the old Pirates RP.
