Jadyn slowly moved the knife away from the warrior and Nathan and Moe let him go. " Are you alright Nu? " Asked the warrior behind Jadyn. " I'm fine now Ara, thank you. " " You know what we need to do. " Said Ara, Jadyn could almost tell she was grinning from her tone and he didn't like the sound of that. Suddenly both Nu and Ara started to make inhuman howling sounds that echoed throughout the stone structure. Jadyn knew other warriors would come for them within seconds. He quickly slashed his own knife at Ara's hand that was holding her knife and within that small moment that Ara was to shocked to react he did spinjizu and knocked her down. Then he, Nathan and Moe made a run for it.
Zephyr was trying hard to focus on coming up with an escape plan, however it wasn't easy considering her thoughts kept wondering back to everything Alpha had told her. Was she really descended from a race of wolves? It explained her wolf dreams sort of. Then there was the story about her parents, why would her father or mother not tell her or her siblings? Why were those elemental masters so cruel? The master of fire at the time lead it, Jadyn's ancestor? It was possible. Then again that was so long ago it was hard to say. How could her ancestors think smashing people with powers was justifiable? Did the balance really work that way? Was that her ligitament wolf form in her dreams? Focus! She screamed at herself in her head. What had she already tried?
She had tried opening the door, she figured it was worth a try. She had tried pulling the bars off the window, the bars were new and strong, it would take years to be able to get them off by normal human force. Of course her powers didn't work on the vengestone bars. She tried seeing if her head would fit through the bars, it obviously didn't work. She checked the room for secret passageways, nothing, not even in the wardrobe or under the bed. There was one of those portable toilet thingys under the bed though. She had searched the room to see if she could find any small metal objects she could pick the lock with. Her knife was to big, plus there was nothing other than the screws keeping the bed together, which she would have to find a way to demolish the bed if she wanted to get to those, which seemed a shame considering the bed looked well built and in nice shape. What was she thinking?! It didn't matter if she destroyed the furniture, even if it did look expensive. She remembered all the work everyone went through to build a new bed or other piece of furniture in the jungle back home. It usually took a long time... It was against her better nature but destroying the furniture seemed to be the way to go. She could do so using her element. What if she tried breaking the door down with the wardrobe? She had tried raming herself against the door earlier, that had hurt... She focussed on the gravity around the wardrobe and lifted it into the air. She slowly and carefully turned it so it was on it's side and brought it front of the door. Now what? She was sure how to use force. Maybe if she brought it back and then positioned the gravity so that it would be like she was dropping the wardrobe on the door maybe that would work. However she realized the bed was in the way, so she put down the wardrobe and lifted and moved the bed in front of the window. Then she lifted the wardrobe again and brought it all the way to the opposite wall of the door.
Three, two, one... She shifted the pull of gravity to the door. The wardrobe dropped onto the door making the door make a cracking sound. Splinters from the wardrobe flew across the room, one hit Zephyr in the face. " Ouch! " She didn't stop though, she brought the wardrobe back and made it do it again, the wooden door cracked down the middle. She did it again and this time the door gave way and flew off it's hinges. Zephyr rushed for the exit she had just made, climbing over the damaged wardrobe and door. Two pack members were in the hallway, they looked dumbstruck as she glanced at them. She couldn't help but grin at them mischievously right before she rushed away down the hallway. She didn't look back, her one focus at the moment was getting out. Everyone needed to know what she knew. Suddenly she heard howling coming from the hallway in front of her, and shortly after she heard it behind her too. They're onto me! She realized. But she kept going nonetheless. She then saw some people coming at her she braced herself to run past them, getting herself ready to use her element if she had to. There were three of them, she tried to slip between them but accidentally bumped into them instead. She was dazed for a second, but then set her gravity at them to try and push them out of the way. Suddenly the dark hallway lit up in blinding orange light. An orange and blue flame that seemed circular. To Zephyr's shock she saw Jadyn, Moe and Nathan in the light of the flame. At the sight of each other Zephyr and Jadyn immediately stopped using thier elements. Sending them all into pitch darkness. " Zephyr is that you? " Asked Jadyn. " Yes! How did you guys find this place? " Repiled Zephyr. " We'll have to tell you later, we need to get out of here. " Said Nathan. " He's right, we can catch up later. " Said Jadyn. She reached out her hand and touched what must have been Jadyn's shoulder. "Just making sure you guys are real and I haven't gone crazy or something. " Said Zephyr smiling and removing her hand. Although she couldn't see their expressions she could tell they were glad to see her too.
" Come on, let's go this way. " Said Moe. Zephyr followed them, she realized there was sound of many footsteps behind them. They went the way Zephyr had just came from. They ran past the room Zephyr was just in, the warriors were gone. They continued down the hall. A group of warriors confronted them, attempting to block thier way, the pack members behind them were coming close. They would be srouunded soon. Moe punched a warrior with his speed and then another. Nathan took out a small knife and slashed at one. Zephyr kicked one in the gut. Jadyn took a tapestry off the wall, set it on fire and placed it on the floor where they just came from so the flames would block anyone chasing them from behind. One of thier foes punched Nathan in the nose, he staggered backwards as it began to bleed. Moe did spinjizu and so did Zephyr right after creating a temporary gape for them to get by. The four of them rushed past the warriors who remained standing. They then took a right and went down some stairs and past another hallway. Now they were in the big room and more pack members attacked, including the ones who had followed them. They were srouunded in no time. Many pack members seemed to enjoying this according to the thrilled looks the faces of those with their hoods off. There were more pack members here then Zephyr had ever seen ever, there were maybe fifty she guessed. " We've got 'em now! " Shouted one girl joyfully. " What do we do with these three do you suppose? " Asked another pack member to his companion nearby. A pack member stepped forward and said. " I say we at least have a little fun with them since they're here! " Her hair was a mixture of purple, blue and pink, and she had a nasty scar that went through her right eye, however her eye itself seemed unharmed. " You will do no such thing Omicron, as long as Alpha's granddaughter is there. " Kent stepped forward. " It was just a suggestion. " Omicron shrugged, " Besides, we've been growing hungry for action, to see results of our work. " " Says the mechanic. " said another pack member. " No one asked you Rex "
Some pack members were talking to each other, while others were still howling for the joy of it. " Everyone be quiet and calm down. " Said Kent. Moe leaned over and asked. " Do you think you could use gravity to get us out through the skylights? " Zephyr didn't know, it was a brilliant idea, but could she do It? She'd never tried using it on more than one person. Unless she just modified the gravity on spot they were standing on. It would take focus, but it wasn't impossible. " I can try. " She replied. The pack had quieted down now, and were now all paying attention as Kent informed them that they would only capture them for now and figure out what to do with them once they were contained and Alpha had decided what was best. It was now or never Zephyr realized. She concentrated on tampering with the gravity around herself and her friends. She felt the power working as they all lifted off the ground and up to the nearest skylight. The pack members below made remakes of surprise and some even of anger. She ignored them though as they went up through the skylight and onto the roof. Once she was pretty sure everyone had their footing she released them all to the normal gravity. Zephyr was exhausted from doing that, but they had to still get out of the area. They made thier way across the roof until they reached a slope in the rock, which they half slid and half climbed down. They then made a beeline for the forest. Jadyn stopped and pulled a backpack out from under a bush and then they all started running into the forest. Zephyr wasn't sure if any of them had a plan about where they were going, they just ran. Even though all they wanted was to do anything but run.
They eventually came to a road and crossed it. Just before they ran into the forest on the other side though Jadyn said. " Wait. " " What is it? " Asked Zephyr. " I have a cumication device in my bag, if we follow this road and figure out where we are I can call Copic to come pick us up and drive us home. " repiled Jadyn. Zephyr, Nathan and Moe agreed to this and they followed the road. However they stayed under the cover of the dark forest to avoid being followed. They eventually reached a road sign after a long while that told them where they were. Jadyn called Copic and after explaining everything he could she agreed to help them. But now they had to wait. Zephyr wondered if the pack was hunting them right now. She wasn't worried for herself because she knew they'd probably just lock her up again. But she was concerned about Jadyn, Moe and Nathan. The pack had seemed all to delighted to get their hands on them. What they had in mind Zephyr didn't dare imagine, especially after what Alpha had told her... " So... Are you really Alpha's granddaughter? " Asked Jadyn Suddenly. " Yes. " She replied. " Did you know? " " No... "
Oh, how cool. no pun intended Ice really is a coo-- an awesome element. I think I was actually a little surprised you chose gravity as the element of your main character, when I first began reading Gravitation.
i'm still gonna cook up wild theories tho
Yeah I suppose gravity isn't exactly one the main or better known elements, which is why I'm glad it is her element.
Go for it
Me, too. It's unique and unexpected. I like it when writers play on the underrated characters and elements. :3
*cackles as steaming Pot O' Wild Fan Theories bubbles and broils over open fire*
Ah, thanks. (No worries.) I wanted to know so that I could add the scar to the comic book version of the scene I drew for you, but then Christmas came rolling.
I had a feeling it was urgent, that's what I get for not listening to my instincts.
Let's say that the way I drew Jadyn's hair hid the scar from view.
The warrior had short black hair with a few white tips and streaks, although he seemed young, maybe in his early thirties. He was skinny and physically he didn't stand a chance against the three of them. There was a gray tattoo shaped like an upside down triangle under his left eye and his cape was white. He sneered in disgust at them said. " Eh, what do you filthy intruders want? It's only a matter of time before someone finds you here anyway and you all smash. " " Where's Zephyr? " Jadyn was the one to ask this time. " Oh, you mean Alpha's granddaughter? " " You're not making any sense. " Said Jadyn. " Ah well you wouldn't know anyway I guess... Your friend is Alpha's granddaughter, she's one of us. " Said the warrior. " Who is Alpha? " Asked Moe. " The leader of the pack of course. " Repiled the warrior, he showed a distaste for telling them all this. " Wait what?! " Exclaimed Moe, Jadyn was just as surprised as Moe, however he wasn't sure he trusted this guy's word. " Where is she? " He asked again getting a little aggravated. He didn't want to question this warrior all night, any one of his buddies could come down either hallway at any time and then anything could happen, plus he wanted find Zephyr as soon as was possible. " Clam down, she's fine, she's got a room of her own here. " Said the warrior uninterested. " Could you show us to the room? " Asked Nathan. " Eh I only know the general area the room's in, not the actual room. Besides, I've helped you way more then I'm comfortable with. I'm only doing this because my life is at stake. " Suddenly Jadyn felt cold metal on his neck and a female voice behind him said. " Let him go or I'll give you the fate you are threatening him with... "
SUCCESS! And ha ha, yes, they found each other! Now escape, little ninja!
