Just as they stepped in the tunnel there was a huge tremor and very large rocks fell from the ceiling. Dust was everywhere and they were soon in the darkness. A flashlight turned on to reveal Lisa's face. Relief, followed by panic. Where was Zephyr? He didn't have to ask, Sensei did.
" Lisa, where is Zephyr? " Lisa looked horrified.
" I don't know! She was right next me seconds ago! " Another tremor.
" We have to get out of here, there's a chance she could get out the other way. There's no point in saying here, we're only putting ourselves in danger." said Sensei. Jadyn knew he was right, but he wasn't ready to believe it yet.
" We can't leave her! Can't we do anything? " he asked desperately.
" I do have a plan. But we must get out of here first. Trust me. " replied Sensei.
" But Sensei- "
" Jadyn, trust me. "
" Yes Sensei... "
The group looked back at the rock pile and then walked away into the tunnel, hopeing to escape, and hopeing the possible future gravity ninja was alive...

Chapter 11 Edge of Survival 


Zephyr coughed, it was completely dark all around her, actually not completely dark, there was a dim glow under some rocks and dirt. Zephyr dug it up, it was an aurora mineral, it glowed watery blue light into the space Zephyr was trapped in. It's liquid like touch felt strange yet appealing in the dry and dusty air. She did get a headache from touching it, but it was hardly noticeable at the moment. 
I have to get out of here. Thought Zephyr. 
She and Lisa were running to the exit when one of the injured miners had grabbed her foot and tripped her, then the cavern collapsed... Zephyr had no clue what the fate of Lisa or Jadyn or Moe or Sensei or any of the miners was, not even the one who tripped her. She had to hope they were all alive though, the thought of even one of them smashing was to horrible to think about. Zephyr tried to think about it how to get out. She touched and tested the rocks around her to feel how lose they were and how much of the rocks and dirt above her they held up. She realized digging her way out could be fatal, everything above her could fall. Unless... Could she go up? A crazy idea began to form in her head. Zephyr started to pick up rocks and scrap them against each other, trying to find out which was the hardest. After finding what she figured must be the hardest rock she glanced over at the aurora mineral. 
I wonder...
She scraped the rock across the aurora mineral's surface, there seemed to be a vibration within the aurora mineral itself, the rock flaked off like powder, the aurora mineral unharmed. So the aurora mineral was hardest. She then felt the rock ceiling, it was very low so it was easy. She eventually found a spot that was loser then the rest. Time to put her plan into action, she picked up the aurora mineral, it was surprisingly light. Zephyr had no idea what the limits of spinjizu were, but this seemed to be her only option. She then spun into a spinjizu vortex while holding the aurora mineral above her head and propelled upwards at the rock and dirt above her. She could see through the energy around her that rocks cracked and dirt flew as she broke out into the open air.

Suddenly out of nowhere something, no someone, jumped on her back and they both tumbled down the incline. Zephyr fought to gain control over her opponent as they both slide and rolled out of control, the rocks bruising and cutting them. They finally came to somewhat level ground and Zephyr could finally clearly see her opponent. Zephyr was pretty sure these weren't just miners now... Her opponent had put a hood on before attacking her so she could only see their eyes and now opon closer examination she saw that the miner's outfit much like that of a ninja's. Plus her opponent had a small cape draped over their shoulder with a symbol of some kind on it. What was really shocking though, was when her opponent took a knife out of a pouch on their side and attempted to stab her with it! Luckily they missed because of stumbling from moving to fast. Zephyr grabbed for their arm that was holding the knife and tried to overpower them. Some gravel shifted and the two of them stumbled again. Dirty, bruised and battered Zephyr wouldn't let her enemy go, she was sweating and breathing hard, making her ninja hood wet, hot and uncomfortable. She wasn't sure how much longer she could keep this up. She broke away from her opponent and jumped out of the way, however she tripped as she did so. Her opponent regained their balance and lunged at her, pining Zephyr to the ground. 
" Gotcha fox. " said her opponent in a female voice. She razed her knife with the intent to smash. It was in that moment she remembered her father's knife. She hastily pulled it out just as her enemy brought down the knife. The knife stopped less then an inch away from Zephyr's chest, a look of horror was in the eyes of her opponent. 

" Zephyr!" Shouted a voice from above and behind her. She turned around to see Sensei Lloyd, Lisa, Moe, and relaveingly, Jadyn, on the back of a huge green dragon made of energy. It flew down and landed next to Zephyr. Jadyn and Lisa jumped off the dragon and embraced her, Zephyr more then gladly hugged them back. Before she wasn't sure if she'd see them again and apparently they must have felt the same. Seeing their faces made her momentarily forget about the wounds she'd gotten in the heat of battle.
"Come on, we should leave. " said Sensei. They climbed onto the dragon and flew over to where the jet was parked, they then got into the jet and flew home in mostly silence. Once they arrived back at the dojo Sensei examined Moe's leg again everyone else bandage up any cuts they had.
" You should be back to normal in about week Moe. " said Sensei Lloyd calmly.
Lisa came over to Zephyr as she bandaged up a cut and said
" I'm so sorry Zephyr, one second you were right next to me and the next you were gone, I should have done something. "
" Lisa, it's ok, there's nothing you could have done better, besides, I escaped, didn't I? " said Zephyr picking up and packaging that had held the bandages in it.
" I guess... Wait, how did you escape?" asked Lisa. " We thought you were buried in the rocks... "
Zephyr explained her side of the story the best she could, however she was very brief about the knife fight with the miner. Jadyn, Moe and Sensei listened too.
"Zephyr... I don't think a normal person would have survived that, even with spinjizu. " said Lisa.
" What do you mean? " asked Zephyr.
" I mean... Maybe you used your element without knowing it. "
" Really?" Said Zephyr hopeful.
" It's possible. " said Sensei.
