Crexar's black mech continued to clash with Lycor's yellow mech. In their epic battle, the mechs smashed through trees, jumping and moving around as they fought. Crexar fired his mech's six small chi laser blasters (three on each wrist), forming the mech's hands into fists as he did so. Lycor's mech was peppered by continuous laser blasts, causing small holes to appear all over the mech's armor. "Enough!!" Lycor roared, willing his mech to jump and tackle the black mech to the ground. Before the other mech could push back, the yellow fist was brought down on it, punching its cockpit repeatedly. Huge cracks appeared in the glass, until it was finally smashed open. Two clawed yellow fingers reached in through the shattered cockpit window to pull Crexar out, only for the yellow mech to be shot by chi pulse blasts from multiple directions. "What's this?" Said Lycor, turning around in his cockpit. The other four bounty hunters were driving between the trees on their speedorz, firing at his mech. Lycor fired back with the huge chi blaster on his mech's left arm, striking the speedorz of Worgon and Rhonux. The two other bounty hunters on speedorz managed to swerve around his blasts, and continued shooting at his mech. The blasts from their handheld weapons did very minimal damage, but they distracted Lycor long enough for Crexar's mech to burst up from beneath, throwing the other mech. Lycor's mech went flying, smashing into a tree before falling back to the ground. The yellow mech stood and picked its sword back up. The two badly battle-damaged mechs charged at each other. Their colossal clash continued as they punched, kicked, and blasted each other. Lycor's mech slashed at Crexar's with its mighty sword, cutting huge slices through the metal. Lycor aimed at the black mech with the chi blaster in place of his mech's left hand, only for the right arm of the black mech to grab it and force it upward, causing blue lasers to shoot up into the sky. Lycor roared and brought his mech's sword down, cutting off the arm of the black mech. "No!" Crexar yelled. The robotic arm landed with a thud on the ground, as the now free left arm of the yellow mech repeatedly shot its target. Crexar's mech was blasted into a rock formation, and was hit with a barrage of new laser blasts before it could get back up.
Meanwhile, in the ruins of the last WRM outpost, Razalac awoke, rubbing his head. After he got up, he rejoined the other ravens there, and observed the current state of both sides. Because of the loss of the outpost's commander, a young raven named Rex had taken up a leadership role among the ravens, and was talking with the lion General Lyrix. The two of them shook hands before each regrouping their remaining troops. "What did I miss?" Asked Razalac. "In the aftermath of the battle, General Lyrix and I made an agreement, and signed a temporary non-aggression pact." Explained Rex. "There will no longer be any battles between the lions and WRM ravens." At the time, Rex and Lyrix made an unofficial treaty. It was legitimized by Rica and Lionel a year later, and the WRM ravens never fought the lions again.
Deeper in the forest, a crocodile bellowed. "AAAUUURRRGGHHH!!!" Roared Crexar, using all his might to force the mech up and make it charge forward despite being pummeled nonstop by a barrage of lasers from Lycor's mech. Crexar's mech tackled Lycor's mech, causing both damaged mechs to tumble downhill through a steep part of the Great Forest. Lycor's mech swung its sword as it fell, cutting trees down by accident. Both mechs smashed into a mud pit at the bottom of the slope. Ss of wrecked, sliced, and burned metal went flying through the air, only to splash into the mud and sink underneath. Lycor's mech, now without its sword, spun and tumbled through the lower part of the forest. Many parts of it were covered in mud, including the glass windshield of the cockpit, cutting off Lycor's vision. The bounty hunters zoomed and ran beneath him, blasting at his mech. "Where are you?!" Roared Lycor. "I can't see you—!" Suddenly, the torso of Lycor's mech was stabbed from behind by its own sword. "What the—?" Said Lycor, looking down at the interior damage. The huge sword was right beneath his seat in the "head" of the mech! The sword was held by the black mech's remaining arm. "Your mech is worthless to me!" Snarled Crexar, pushing the sword further through Lycor's mech. Half of the sword was now sticking out the front of the mech. Crexar's mech moved to the left and smashed the yellow mech into a tree, only for his black mech to fall on its knees, to damaged to keep moving. "You might as well give me the plans!" Crexar said. (The MMSC plans were currently in Lycor's cockpit.) "Oh, I don't think so." Said Lycor quietly. He pressed a button on the control console of his mech. "Self-destruct in 5...4..." Said a robotic voice. "Gah!!" Yelped Crexar, jumping out of his own mech and running as far away as he could get, while the other bounty hunters did the same. "...3...2..." "Checkmate." Said Lycor, pressing another button. The mud-covered windshield quickly popped open, as Lycor's seat was launched out of the cockpit and shot up into the sky. "...1." BOOM!! As a parachute popped out of his ejector seat, Lycor looked down to see both mechs exploding in a burst of fire and unstable chi energy. The members of Crexar's crew were too far from the blast to be consumed by it, but the explosion was so powerful that it scattered the bounty hunters, blasting them and their speedorz across Chima. Lycor drifted down through the sky until his parachute got caught on a tree branch. He unclipped himself from it and landed on his feet in the grass of the Great Forest.

Chapter XII A Widening Gap
After meeting up with Lyrix and the other lions, who'd been searching for him, Lycor departed from the Great Forest. The lions returned to the West Sea encampment with their wounded, and with the MMSC plans. His mission now complete, Lycor moved back into the Lion City. To his surprise, Lyrix had decided to stay at the West Sea encampment for the moment. In the hours that passed, Lycor already started to construct a new mech-tank to replace the original, with help from a crew of devoted lion mechanics. This new mech would have a longer, more durable sword, more armor, and a double-barreled chi blaster arm rather than a single-barreled one. Eventually, Lyrix returned to the Lion City, and entered the large garage where Lycor and the mechanics were constructing the tank. "I thought you'd stayed at the camp." Lycor said, while inflating a tire. "I changed my mind after a couple hours." Lyrix replied. "I've also got a question." "Speak." Said Lycor, handing the wheel over to a mechanic. "Concerning something like the blueprints, would that be a big enough deal for the King or Steward to need to handle it?" "No, it's not that big of a deal." Lycor answered. "I'd say the Field Marshal would handle something military-related of that magnitude." "I see," said Lyrix, nodding, "so what do you think will be done about the MMSC plans?" "Well, hopefully they'll be destroyed." Answered Lycor. "I still disagree about that." Lyrix replied. "I think the lions should use those plans to build our own MMSC and destroy our enemies with." "To each their own, I suppose," replied Lycor, "I'd rather have the plans destroyed, so they wouldn't fall into the wrong hands." "But of course, the Field Marshal would have the power to decide how to deal with the plans." Lyrix said thoughtfully. "But both of us are likely to reach that rank someday." Lycor said. An awkward silence followed that sentence. "Anyhow, thanks for answering my question." Lyrix said, breaking the silence. "I shall return to my home." "Alright, goodbye." Lycor said.
Lyrix had told Lycor the truth; he was indeed returning to his house in the city. What he hadn't told Lycor, was what transpired at the camp after Lycor had left. Lyrix had conspired with Rica via radio to hand the MMSC plans over to his raven allies from the WRM outpost, and he'd done just that. Lyrix had gotten permission from the camp's commander to deliver the retrieved blueprints to Lion City. Lyrix had also told the commander the truth; he was, in fact, going to Lion City on his speedor. What he hadn't stated, was that he gave the plans to Rex, Razalac, and the others on his way there. When Lyrix had inquired about why they hadn't simply called some jets to pick them up and fly the plans to WRM HQ, Rex had explained that they couldn't do that, because the bounty hunters would be able to track them there no matter what, and would therefore inform Rawlin of the location of WRM HQ. Rex had told Lyrix that this small group of ravens needed to make a final stand against Crexar's crew before returning to WRM HQ, to prevent this from happening. Now, as he entered his house, Lyrix began to feel guilty about what he'd done. But he brushed it aside. Rica and Lyrix planned on having the WRM ravens and lions build a co-owned MMSC to destroy Rawlin and the TI ravens (Lyrix would have the power to do this after becoming the Field Marshal). Therefore, their plan would be put into action much faster if the WRM ravens already started developing the battle station, rather than Lyrix having to wait until he reached the necessary rank. However, Lyrix came to the sudden realization that this caused a problem in itself; Lyrix would have to make sure that he became the Field Marshal, and not Lycor.
Love the work, jgread, side note, I dunno if your still reading my story, I usually tell if people are reading based on likes, so are you caught up ? Anyways just a side note, I would love more chapters of seeing the perspective of the ravens and the plot going on from their side, what they think of. I dunno just an idea. It would also be fun to see what the other tribes think of this, well that is if they know of this ofcourse. Anyways love your work keep it up!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm several chapters behind on your story, sorry. But I'm going to catch up. Also, I am indeed planning on writing more Raven-centric chapters, especially with Rex and Radcliffe.
Worgon waded carefully through the murky waters of the crocodile swamp. The old wolf had been there a few times before during his long life, and knew that at any moment, a reptilian guard could burst out of the mud and demand Worgon's reason for coming. But that hadn't happened yet, so Worgon took this time to reflect on the reasons he'd come here after the explosion. Hours ago, the blast had scattered the bounty hunters across Chima. One by one, they were each finding their weapons and speedorz, and regrouping. But not Worgon; he had other plans before finding what he'd lost and returning to the company of his "allies". Worgon had a deal to make with the crocs. A few years back, Worgon had been captured by Rawlin. He, along with Corok, Rhonux, and Rezin, had been imprisoned far longer than they would've preferred. It was only hours ago that they were bailed out to aid Crexar on his new job. Ah, Crexar. After he'd rescued Worgon from a sinking ship, the hunter felt that it was only fair to work for his savior. But a couple hours ago, it took that explosion caused by Crexar for Worgon to finally realize: nothing good had come out of joining Crexar's crew. Not to mention, Worgon had been a bounty hunter his entire life, unlike the others. Surely the most experienced of the bounty hunters should lead the crew, of course! Under Crexar's leadership, they'd all been defeated, captured, and almost blown up! Worgon decided it was time for a change. It was time for the life-long hunter to lead the team. It would be relatively easy to overthrow Crexar. Rezin had stated that she'd follow whoever successfully took over the crew, and Rhonux...well, Rhonux would work for anyone if he was paid enough. Corok on the other hand, was loyal to Crexar till the end, so he had to be dealt with. And that was why Worgon was going to the crocodiles; to secretly make a deal with them so they'd destroy the traitors to their tribe, Crexar and Corok. Worgon would takeover leadership of the crew, immediately filling the power gap. Worgon's thoughts were presently interrupted as he noticed a blurry green shape heading toward him beneath the swamp water. "I was wondering when it'd be time." Worgon said, as a scaly hand grabbed his leg and pulled him into the water. After a few seconds, Worgon was tossed onto an island of mud, and the crocodile jumped out of the water. "Such a warm welcome." Worgon said, standing up and wiping himself off. "Why are you in our swamp, dog?!" Growled the croc, pointing an average-length spear at Worgon. "I'm here to make a deal." Worgon answered. "Will you take me to your leader?" "Hah! Yeah right!" The croc snorted. "As if our king would have time to make little agreements with individual animals. Just tell me what you want, and I'll deliver the message to the king." "'Tis a deal that will benefit us both." Worgon said. "Your king wants the exiled crocodiles, Crexar and Corok, destroyed. I do as well. See where I'm going with this? All I need is for you to destroy those two, and promise to leave us other bounty hunters alone." "We only care about Crexar and Corok, so that'll be easy." Said the croc. "But why can't you just destroy them yourself?" "Because I can't destroy both at once." Worgon answered. "I could destroy Crexar, but then in turn be immediately destroyed by Corok. If destroyed Corok first, it would be the same." "I see." Said the croc, nodding. "I'll go tell the king." "Very well." Said Worgon as crocs surrounded the small mud island on speedboats.
A few minutes later, the first croc returned. "King Crogall has agreed to this deal." He announced. "I'll organize a team to hunt down the exiles." "Excellent." Worgon said, as the speedboats parted to allow his departure.

After receiving the MMSC plans from Lyrix, the small group of thirteen ravens had gathered in the ruins of an old town just east of the Great Forest and Minor Tribes territory, located at the edge of the Great Desert. According to history, this town had once belonged to the Lion Tribe, until it was given to the bears as part of a trade agreement. It had been a Bear town for many years, until being attacked by gorillas during the Gorilla—Bear War. The town was mostly destroyed in the resulting battle, and these ruins were all that remained of it. Now, use was finally found for it once again, as the ravens were planning to stage a final showdown against Crexar's crew to prevent the bounty hunters from tracking them to their base. Over the last two hours, Rex, Razalac, and the other eleven ravens had set up traps throughout the town, using the remaining technology and weapons that they'd salvaged from their fallen outpost. Now, the traps were set, and it was time to wait. The ravens were all hidden behind the crumbled, tan-colored walls, each having been assigned a position for when the bounty hunters arrived. Razalac sat next to Rex on a high bridge connecting the top of two buildings, concealed to outsiders behind the broken wall of the bridge. There were two other ravens on either side of Rex and Razalac; the four Ravens on the bridge were lined up, each holding a bow and arrow as they crouched down behind the low wall. Razalac absently shifted the MMSC blueprints in his hands. It truly was to be an enormous battle machine, and if it was ever complete, it could quite possibly spell doom for whoever Rawlin made enemies of. "I presume my father designed that monstrosity?" Rex asked, looking down at the plans. Razalac looked up. "Oh, uh, yes." He said, remembering all the times he witnessed Rawlin, Dr. Radcliffe, and the other TI scientists discussing the plans. (Razalac had been disguised as a scientist during his time as a spy, despite being more of a soldier in reality.) Rex gazed at the blueprints, poorly concealed contempt in his eyes. "My father must be brought to justice for this." Rex said. Razalac nodded solemnly. "As must that rogue, Rezin." He replied, looking at his healing, but still bandage-wrapped wing. "She must pay for her crimes against the Wings Row Monarchy...and against me." "She will soon." Said Rex slowly. "But the question is: how soon? How long will it take the bounty hunters to find us, and fall into our traps?"
At the moment, Lyrix was wondering the same thing. While taking a speedor ride through the lion Plains to clear his semi-guilty mind, he'd been suddenly knocked off his vehicle by a chi-powered and angry Crexar. The bounty hunter leader was accompanied by Worgon and Rhonux, who had gathered their weapons and speedorz. Rezin and Corok had yet to reunite with the crew. Lyrix had powered up and fired his dual ma-Chi guns, but even chi-powered, the single lion was no match for three armed mercenaries. After eventually slamming Lyrix onto the ground, Crexar placed his foot on Lyrix' chest chi harness. "You're not the one who I fought in the forest." Observed Crexar. "You're General Lycor's relative of some kind...General Lyrix, is it?" "What makes you think you deserve to even know my name, merc?!" Snarled Lyrix. "I don't know, and I really don't care." Said Crexar, shrugging. "I just want to know where my employer's plans are. We can do this the easy way or the hard way." "How original...They're in the Lion City." Lyrix lied, knowing three bounty hunters couldn't possibly hope to successfully raid the Lions' great HQ. And if Crexar just told Rawlin that, the ravens would attack Lion City, and an all-out war would begin between the two tribes; that, of course, would not get Crexar paid. "Nice try." Crexar said, shaking his long head. "You obviously stole the blueprints from the lions and gave them to the WRM ravens. I know a guilty man when I see one." "Shut up." Lyrix spat. "It would be a real shame if Lycor or any other lion found out about your treachery..." Crexar continued. "I could tell any lion I see about that, of course." "You wouldn't." Breathed Lyrix. He sounded more angry than scared. "Would we? That is the question..." This time, it was Worgon speaking. "Boss, might I suggest blackmailing Mr. Lyrix so that he asks his Raven friends to give him back the plans, and in turn have no choice but to give them to us." "What?!?" Roared Crexar. "We're bounty hunters, not corrupt politicians! We will forcefully take what we need to get money from our employers, by any means necessary. Where's the fun it talking your way into something, when you can fight, earn what you need, and pry it from smashed hands?" At this, Rhonux nodded in agreement. "I will keep this information in case it'll ever benefit me." Crexar said, taking his foot off Lyrix. "But for now, we hunt! We will meet up with our other teammates, destroy those WRM Ravens, and earn our pay!" The bounty hunters hopped on their speedorz and zoomed off as Lyrix got up. Fool. Worgon thought. Crexar shouldn've listened to me. He'll get us all smashed to bits. Then again, as long as I make sure to save myself, Rhonux, and Worgon, Crexar and Corok will either be destroyed by the WRM Ravens or the Crocodiles. At this thought, Worgon shrugged and continued to follow Crexar on his speedor, if a bit cautiously.
Meanwhile, Lyrix watched the three bounty hunters, now already disappearing over the horizon. You want to play it that way? So be it, Crexar. He thought. If my raven friends don't do it first, I'll simply have to destroy you bounty hunters before you can tell any lion what you learned.
The five bounty hunters, having found all their weapons and reunited, sped toward the ruins of the old bear town. Rex, Razalac, and two other WRM ravens stayed on the bridge, while the other nine ravens hid in different parts of the old town, ready to spring their traps. Crexar's crew zoomed into the town ruins, driving straight through a long-deserted street. "The ravens we seek are here." Said Worgon, his nose twitching. "I smelled them." "Come out, come out wherever you are, WRM fools!" Cackled Rezin, holding her chi laser bow. Razalac put an arrow in his bow, but Rex stopped him from releasing it. "She will soon receive her retribution." Rex whispered. "But for now, we wait." Razalac nodded and looked down at the glowing chi orb in his chest. He had plugged it a couple minutes before the bounty hunters had arrived, and he hoped it would last long enough. "They're almost at the right spot." Rex muttered, remembering the chi mines he'd buried beneath the street, and the activation button he currently held. Meanwhile, as the five speedorz continued forward on the street, coming towards the bridge, Rezin spotted a raven next to a building who had done a poor job at concealing himself. "I see you!" Rezin shouted, and blasted the raven in the head with her chi laser bow before he could react. "No!" Razalac whispered. He began to move. "Razalac, wait—!" Rex whispered, but Razalac already stood up, revealing himself on the bridge. "ENOUGH OF THIS, REZIN!!!" Razalac yelled, and fired three arrows in rapid succession (the chi gave him a boost of speed). He could see Rezin's evil smile as she aimed her laser bow up at the bridge—but she never used the weapon again. At an astonishing speed, Rezin took three arrows to the torso. She fell off her speedor and tumbled into the sand, rolling back a few feet. Having lost its driver, the speedor swerved around and crashed into a nearby building. "IT'S A TRAP!!!" Crexar bellowed, and the remaining four bounty hunters stopped their speedorz to prevent any further ambushes. However, it was too late for the speedorz; they'd stopped right above the hidden mines. "Now!!" Rex said to himself, no longer bothering to whisper. His free hand slammed down on the button, and the ground beneath the hunters exploded. As multiple burst of fire consumed the speedorz, the four bounty hunters were sent flying sky high, until slamming into the ground in the aftermath of the blast. Although the bounty hunters survived, their speedorz did not; hundreds of small and large pieces of twisted and burned metal were sent flying all over the place. Crumbling pieces of tribe stone wheels tumbled through the street until finally laying to rest. The bounty hunters were scattered throughout the town by the explosion. Corok, who was still in the street infront of the bridge, jumped up angrily. "You'll pay for that!!" He yelled, blasting at the bridge itself with his large croc chi blaster. Since the age-old bridge was a structurally weak ruin, it gave way almost immediately to the powerful laser blasts. "No—" Rex said, as the bridge crumbled and fell, crashing into the ground. When the dust settled, Razalac and Rex awoke, but the other two ravens who'd been on the bridge did not. Corok slapped Rex in the beak repeatedly, and grabbed the raven by the shirt collar. "Wake up, it's time to die!!" Corok said. "For you, maybe!" Razalac shouted, ramming into Corok. As Corok and Rex both got up, the crocodile engaged the two ravens in battle.
In another part of the ruined town, another trap was activated. Worgon had just recovered from the blast and picked up his weapons, only to be caught in a hidden net. Suspended in the air, Worgon snarled and growled as two ravens looked on. Worgon could see Crexar fighting another raven on top of a building. Worgon plugged a chi orb from his pouch, howled furiously, and rapidly slashed through the net with his rusty sword. As Worgon fell to the ground and got up, the two startled ravens moved to attack him, only for Worgon to howl again. The sound waves of his chi-powered howl blasted the ravens away.
Elswhere, a chi-powered Rhonux was busy fighting five ravens at once. After knocking one away with one of his dual hammers, he battled the other four. Meanwhile, the raven that Rhonux had knocked away was loading a boulder into a catapult (this catapult had once belonged to the bears in that town, but it had since been rebuilt by the ravens there). The raven ignited a piece of firewood... "I'LL SMASH YOU ALL TO BITS!!" Rhonux roared, slamming two ravens into the ground, one after the other, with his hammers. The ravens did not move again. "SMASH THIS!!" Yelled the catapult raven, using his makeshift torch to light the boulder on fire. The raven launched the catapult, and the boulder was thrown at Rhonux. As Rhonux turned around, he was hit by the flaming boulder. Both rhino and rock smashed through a wall and into a small building; the building exploded in a burst of fire, scattering the ravens and the catapult.
From his stance on a rooftop, Crexar saw the explosion. With the flat of his axe, he knocked away the raven he was fighting. "BOUNTY HUNTERS, RETREAT!!" Crexar roared, running across the roof and jumping across other rooftops. Corok disengaged with Rex and Razalac, jumping onto rooftops as well. As the three remaining bounty hunters left the town, the ravens regrouped. Despite having kept the MMSC plans and seemingly triumphed over Crexar's crew, Rex's team of outpost survivors had sustained heavy casualties; only seven of the original thirteen ravens were left. "What...now?" Razalac asked. "Now we leave." Rex answered. "We can return home to WRM HQ."
Crexar and Corok crouched behind a bush in a small oasis. The oasis was in the Great Desert, near the ruins of the bear town. "Where's Worgon?" Asked Corok, noticing that the wolf hadn't come to the same rendezvous as the other two bounty hunters. "Maybe he already returned to he ruins to get the MMSC plans." Crexar replied, shrugging. "If so, he should've made a strategy before rushing back in there, like we're doing. The old fool will get himself destroyed!" "Alright, well how are we gonna defeat the remaining ravens and get the plans?" Corok inquired. "We'll form an attack strategy, destroy the ravens, and get the plans." Crexar answered. "Last time, they expected us; this time, they won't." "AND YOU WON'T EXPECT THIS!" Roared a new voice. Crexar and Corok whipped around in time to be ambushed by a team of six crocodile soldiers. The bounty hunters dodged the laser blasts aimed at them, and fought back with their own weapons. "Why are our fellow crocs attacking us?" Crexar asked. "You lost the right to call us your "fellow crocs" long ago!" Said the leader of the team (the guard who Worgon had made the deal with). "You stole the golden chi and brought dishonor to the croc tribe! We would've excecuted you right there and then, had the lions not insisted you be exiled instead! Now, Crexar and Corok, you will face the true retribution for your betrayal!" "We'll see about that!!" Corok yelled, having overheard the conversation. Corok swung his spiky mace twice, downing two of the six croc soldiers. Crexar slammed into the leader, who fell and dropped his bag of chi. "We'll be taking these!" Crexar said, picking up the bag, pugging an orb, and throwing one to Corok. "No!" Said the leader, getting up and dueling Crexar spear to sword-spear. Now powered by chi, Corok blasted a croc soldier with his large blaster, sending the croc flying into the central pond of the oasis. Corok's own gun was blasted out of his hand by another soldier. With his chi handgun, the croc hit Corok in the face, giving him a black eye. "Arrhg!" Wailed Corok. Angered, Corok tackled the soldier to the ground, and threw him into a palm tree, knocking the soldier out. Meanwhile, the remaining soldier tried to help his leader, who was dueling Crexar. Crexar turned around when he heard the approaching soldier, and hit the croc with his axe, knocking him into the bushes. Crexar then managed to knock the leader's spear out of his hand, and swung his own double bladed sword-spear around wildly. The leader dodged the swings, causing one of the blades to slice a palm tree. The tree came down on the leader, trapping him on the ground. The leader shoved the fallen palm tree off of himself, but used up his last bit of chi energy in the process. Crexar and Corok stood over the defeated croc. "Does anyone other than King Crogall want us destroyed? Tell me!" Crexar said, pointing his axe threateningly at the croc. "Yes, but I'll only reveal who if you promise not to destroy me." "Fine." Crexar said. "Now tell me!" "A wolf named Worgon wants you smashed." Answered the croc team leader. "He came to our swamp, and told me as much. I informed King Crogall, and he agreed to the deal." "Worgon, eh?" Said Crexar. "I see." "That traitor!" Crexar yelled. "What's his problem, dealing with the crocs to ensure our destruction?!" But Crexar was starting to put the puzzle pieces together in his mind. After being captured by Rawlin (and later almost destroyed), Worgon had lost faith in Crexar, and wanted to overthrow him. But Worgon knew he couldn't do that with Corok alive, so he'd attempted to have the crocs destroy both of them, and then insert himself as the new leader of the bounty hunter crew. But now that Rezin and Rhonux had both been destroyed by the ravens, there was no one to lead. That was why Worgon hadn't rejoined Crexar and Corok after retreating from the town; the wolf expected them to be destroyed by the croc troopers, and he was most likely tracking the ravens with the MMSC plans on his own now. "I see..." Crexar repeated absently. "So will we track down and destroy Worgon?" Asked Corok, eager for revenge. "Track down? Yes." Crexar replied. "Destroy? No, not yet. As much as I hate to admit it, I still need Worgon in order to get the MMSC plans for Rawlin and get paid." Crexar stomped on the croc team leader's tail, breaking the tip of it. "AAGH!" Roared the croc. "You promised—!" "I promised that I would't destroy you, not that I would' think hurt you." Crexar said, grinning. "Let's go, Corok." "Mark my words," called the croc as Crexar and Corok walked away, "you will both get what you deserve eventually!"
One hour after the events of chapter sixteen... Worgon hovered above the Great Desert in a small raven glider. It wasn't an ideal mode of transportation for an old wolf like him, but it would have to do. Worgon's incredible sense of smell had allowed him to track the ravens' scent all the way to WRM HQ, even while they were flying. Worgon had returned to Raven HQ and told Rawlin about this. When the raven leader inquired about why Worgon was by himself, Worgon told him that the rest of the bounty hunters had been destroyed. In Worgon's mind, this was probably true; Rezin and Rhonux had been lost in the ruined town, and Crexar and Corok were surely destroyed by the croc tribe by now. Rawlin had provided Worgon with a raven glider, so that he could fly to the WRM HQ high in the Iron Mountains, and scout it out. A camera was mounted on the glider so that Worgon could take pictures of the HQ, return to Raven HQ, and give Rawlin the layout as precise as he could get it, so that it'd be easy for TI to destroy. Worgon was to accompany Rawlin's army in a massive attack on WRM HQ. While Rawlin and his forces destroyed the HQ, Worgon would retrieve the MMSC plans in the chaos, and receive his pay. Now though, Worgon's thoughts about the plan were interrupted when his glider was struck by something beneath with a loud bang. It was a spiky black mace, now lodged in its purple wing. "No..." Worgon said quietly, as a crimson red laser blast struck the glider, causing a small explosion that sent the vehicle spiraling to the sand. Worgon quickly plugged chi to survive the fall, and tumbled off the glider as it crashed into the ground. Worgon got to his feet, but already knew who to expect standing in front of him. "So you don't like me, I get it." Said Crexar. "But no sentient being will ever destroy Crexar! We've defeated your crocs, but I still have use for you; we need your nose to find the WRM HQ so we can get the Corok pulled his mace out of the glider, satisfied with his work. He turned around and held his large croc blaster at Worgon's back, pressing it against his cape. Worgon looked at Crexar with hate in his eyes. "Idiots!" Worgon spat. "I already smelled the ravens' location from a mile away. Rawlin sent me to the WRM HQ so I could get a visual of its layout. Now that you two have sabotaged by glider, we'll have to climb up a mountain to get there. And I'm too old to climb mountains now." "Shut up, old man!" Crexar snapped. "You can probably climb a mountain while having chi in your chest. Besides, this exercise will be good for us."
With Corok's blaster poised on his back, Worgon was forced to lead the crocs to their destination. Crexar had removed the still-intact camera from the wrecked glider. Now, while walking across the Great Desert as the sun set and turned the sky orange, Worgon led Crexar and Corok to the Gorge of Eternal Depth, planning to get rid of them. A long, narrow rope bridge ran across the top of the dark abyss, connecting the two halves of the Great Desert: north and south. The bounty hunters were on the south side, going north. "Why'd you lead us to the gorge...?" Crexar asked suspiciously. "It's faster to go across the bridge than to walk all the way around the Gorge." Worgon explained. "Can't argue with that." Crexar said, shrugging. "But you're going in front, so don't try any funny business, or Corok fires." The three bounty hunters walked single-file across the old bridge, slowly and carefully. Worgon figured it would be easy to knock both crocs into the gorge and be free of this humiliation. After all, Corok only had one good eye now; the other was concealed behind a swollen purple mass. Worgon was about to whip around and slam Corok backwards into Crexar before the croc blaster could be fired, slay both crocs with his rusty sword, and dump them into the Gorge of Eternal Depth. However, just as Worgon was about to put this trap into action, the sound of helicopter blades entered his ears. The three bounty hunters looked up to see a lion twinblade helicopter flying above them. The twinblade flew in front of them, and landed on the other side of the gorge. The helicopter blades swooshed sand from the desert into the gorge until spinning slower and going to rest. Two lions stepped out of the twinblade's cockpit: Lyrix and Lycor. "This ends now, Crexar." Lycor growled. "Give us the MMSC plans, and we'll be peacefully on our way." Crexar and Corok burst into laughter. Worgon remained silent. "We don't have them." Crexar chuckled. "Well we don't have them either, even though we liberated them from the WRM outpost fair and square." Lycor said, irritated. "It was stolen, either from our West Sea encampment, or from Lion City. An hour ago, we noticed they were gone. There was no sign of them, nothing. So if you don't have the plans, who does?" As the silent Worgon and Lyrix locked eyes for a second, Crexar grinned, revealing many dagger-sharp teeth. "Why, the WRM ravens, of course!" Said Crexar. "That makes no sense." Lycor said. "How could they have obtained them?" "Oh, so he didn't tell you?" Crexar said, grinning evilly and looking at Lyrix. Out of the animals there, only Corok and Lycor didn't know what Crexar was referring to. "What's he talking about?" Lycor said, turning his head to Lyrix. "Don't listen to him!" Lyrix said quickly. "He's just trying to mess with us!" "Oh, I certainly am not!" Crexar laughed. "Listen to me, Lycor, and you will learn the truth!" Worgon smiled. Here was his opportunity. "HE'S LYING, HE HAS THE PLANS!" Worgon suddenly burst out, knocking Corok down behind him with a backward sweep of his leg. "Yeah, I think Worgon is telling the truth!" Lyrix lied. "Crexar is a liar!" The two lions charged across the bridge, as Worgon did a backflip over both crocs. Crexar whipped around. "YOU!!" Crexar roared as the lions approached Corok, who was back on his feet. "What do you think you're doing?!" "What must be done." Worgon said, slashing at Crexar with his sword. Worgon's rusty sword and Crexar's double-bladed vengious struck each other at the same time, as the enemies engaged in a chi-powered duel on the bridge. "I should have done this a long time ago." Worgon said, blasting at Crexar with his laser crossbow. "Likewise." Agreed Crexar, knocking Worgon's old sword out of his hand and into the gorge. Worgon blasted laser after laser at Crexar, who deflected them with his sword and axe, only to be pushed back by the assault. Similarly, Corok, despite being chi-powered, was beginning to be overwhelmed by the two lions shooting and slashing at him. Every shot Corok made with his blaster was deflected by Lycor's shield. Crexar and Corok were now standing back-to-back in the middle of the bridge. With the lions at the north and Worgon at the south, the two crocs were trapped. However, Corok was able to knock Lycor's silver valious out of his paw, and it fell into the pit below. As Lycor was briefly disoriented, Corok blasted him in the torso. The chi Lycor had allowed him to survive, but the shot from the big blaster was so powerful that it blasted Lycor and his shield all the way to the north side of the desert (where his twinblade was landed just beyond the bridge), and knocked him unconscious. Because Lycor was no longer on the bridge, Lyrix had an idea: if he was able to escape in time, he could destroy the bridge's foundation on the north side, send all three bounty hunters falling into the Gorge of Eternal Depth, and keep his betrayal of the lions permanently secret. Lyrix roared at Corok. His chi-powered roar was powerful enough to blast the three bounty hunters across the bridge. Lyrix turned and ran across the bridge to the north, as the bounty hunters got to their feet near the south end. Worgon howled and jumped over Crexar and Corok, running after Lyrix. Before Worgon could catch up to him, Lyrix made it to the end of the bridge and blasted the foundation at eh edge of the Gorge with his maChi guns, causing the bridge to break and fall. Worgon, who had almost made it to the end of the bridge, took one last leap, and managed to land his crossbow and upper body on the other side. Worgon scrambled his lower body out of the Gorge and stood up in the northern Great Desert. To the dismay of both Worgon and Lyrix, both the crocs, who had been blasted by Lyrix' roar to the southern end of the bridge, had made it to the other side. The crocs got up and angrily glared at Worgon and Lyrix, but the Gorge was too huge to blast them; the other side was out of range, even for Corok's blaster. Crexar stared down below him as the southern foundation began to collapse on its own, and fall into the Gorge. It was almost as if the Gorge of Eternal Depth was seizing the bridge and pulling it down into the darkness... Meanwhile, on the north end of the bridge, Lyrix' chi had run dry and fizzled out. "Uh, oh..." Said Lyrix, as the still-powered Worgon charged toward him. Before Lyrix could react, Worgon had blasted both his maChi guns out of his paws. One of the blasters fell into the Gorge, while the other disappeared from sight behind Lyrix. Worgon pointed his laser crossbow menacingly at Lyrix, forcing him onto the ground. As Worgon walked forward, Lyrix moved backward, but suddenly felt his paw touch something behind him; it was Lyrix' remaining maChi gun. He decided to keep this hidden for now. "Now, you are going to do exactly as I say, Lyrix." Worgon said as his chi orb fizzled out. "With the twinblade's radio, you are to immediately contact your lion soldiers, and order an air strike in the Great Desert. Call in at least ten or twelve twinblades, and have them bomb or blast Crexar and Corok into oblivion. Then, you will contact your WRM raven allies, and ask them for the MMSC plans back. You will then give the plans to me, so I can deliver them to Rawlin and earn my pay before I retire. If you don't do all of what I just said, I'll either throw Lycor into the Gorge, or tell him the truth of your betrayal. Perhaps the latter would be worse. So, you shall now carry out what I've ordered." "Actually, that won't be happening." Said Lyrix, suddenly pulling out his maChi gun from behind his back. In swift and efficient speed, Lyrix fired the blaster before Worgon could react. Worgon howled and dropped his crossbow, clutching his new injury on his torso. "NO Lion will EVER learn of my betrayal!" Roared Lyrix, slamming into Worgon. "I am sure of that." Worgon fell into the Gorge of Eternal Depth and vanished beneath the darkness.
Worgon was not not afraid of his own destruction. In fact, he embraced it. He'd lived a long and adventurous life, and been all across Chima in that lifetime. At 74 years old, the veteran bounty hunter was going to retire after this mission for Rawlin anyway. But now, it was over. Thank Cavora. He'd never be a pawn of Rawlin, or Crexar, or anyone else ever again. Satisfied at the thought that Crexar and Corok wouldn't be able to find WRM HQ and complete their mission, Worgon closed his eyes as he fell to his doom.
From the other side of the Gorge, Crexar looked at Lyrix with an impressed expression (a sinister sight). "As your betrayal and guilt runs deeper, you're becoming more and more like a backstabbing criminal." Crexar said, smiling. "You'd be a fine addition to my crew." Lyrix spat into the Gorge, disgusted. "I'd never work for or with your Crexar, even if I ever did become a bounty hunter." Lyrix snarled. "And of course I'll never be a criminal. I am a soldier of the Lion army! How dare you?!" As Lyrix brought the unconscious Lycor into the twinblade and flew from the ground, Crexar called out: "Suit yourself, but you can't deny destiny!" Corok laughed loudly.

TheFirstDecade , batonmaster500 , egorsmirnov Due to some weird glitch, part of the dialogue in chapter 17 disappeared, and I can't edit it, even though it isn't through moderation yet. Anyway, it's at the part where Crexar says he still has use for Worgon. He's supposed to say: "We need your nose to find WRM HQ, so we can get the MMSC plans for Rawlin."
