Unlike the other Chima stories I wrote on the old LMBs, this one will not be canon with the Chima TV show. Instead, this story is a Chima Roleplay tie-in. At the beginning of the story, Retribution takes place 3 years before the events of the Chima RP, back when Rawlin took over the Raven Tribe.
Castofcharacters, Part 1: Name: Lyrix Age (3 years before the RP): 27 Gender: Male Species: Lion Personality: Bold, headstrong, wants to be the best at everything he does. Backstory: Technically, this story is his backstory. Before this, he grew up in the Lion City and joined his tribe's army. Weapons, gear, and appearance:
Name: Lycor Age (3 years before the RP): 29 Gender: Male Species: Lion Personality: A good lion soldier, tough and honorable. He is patient (unlike his cousin Lyrix) and has a strategic mind. Backstory: Same as Lyrix. Weapons and gear: This is before he got his golden valious, shield, knife, and chi blasters; in this story, he has a silver valious. Appearance: Before he was the Lion Tribe 3ic, Lycor wore simple pants, and a sash with a chi harness in it (like Lennox)
Name: Dr. Radcliffe Age: 68 Gender: Male Species: Raven Personality: A brilliant Raven scientist and one of Rawlin's most loyal subordinates, his logical mind and studies would go on to affect the future of Chima. Weapons and gear: He is not a fighter, but he has a very small chi pistol just in case. Additionally, he has all the scientific tools he'd need for his research. Appearance: Standard raven appearence, but wears a dark grey lab coat. Strangely, the "lab coat" only comes down to his waist; he wears black pants. Backstory: Dr. Radcliffe was originally loyal only to science, but joined Talon Industries after Rawlin took control of the Raven tribe, in order to continue his research at the Raven HQ with all the resources still at his disposal. He became Rawlin's head scientist. For Radcliffe, the only problem was that his son, Rex, was extremely loyal to Rica, Razic, and the WRM. Rex viewed his father as a traitor for joining Rawlin. Radcliffe is good friends with Eglor the eagle. However, Radcliffe does not yet know of Rawlin's hatred for eagles...
Name: Eglor He's an actual Chima character plopped into our universe for the sake of this story, so if you've a Chima fan you already know who he is.
Name: Rex Age (3 years before the RP): 23 Gender: Male Species: Raven Personality: A young but experienced speedor driver, alright pilot (he's better at driving ground vehicles, oddly enough), and 100% loyal to the Wings Row Monarchy. He is against the idea of democracies or politics of any kind, and is an enemy of Talon Industries. Weapons and gear: A long black knife and brown, chi-powered laser crossbow. Appearence: The classic, original raven look. No noticeable differences from Razcal's clothing. Backstory: His mother passed away when he was 18, but he continued to live in the Raven HQ for years until Rawlin's uprising. Rex lost respect for his father after Dr. Radcliffe joined Talon Industries, and viewed his dad as a traitor to the ravens.

Cast of Characters, Part 2:
Crexar's crew:
Name: Crexar
Age: 63
Gender: Male
Species: Crocodile
Affiliation: His crew of bounty hunters.
Appearance: Like Crug, but dark green instead of brown, and with bulky brown shoulder armor as well as a short ripped-up red cape on his right shoulder. His metal lower jaw is gold instead of silver.
Weapons and gear: An iron axe, a double-bladed vengious sword/spear (like Cragger's), and a rocket launcher.
Personality: A mix of Megatron from Transformers and Jango Fett from Star Wars.
Backstory: Crexar was exiled from all tribes after trying to steal a golden chi orb. He became a bounty hunter and went around Chima to gather up a crew.
Name: Corok
Age: 56
Gender: Male
Species: Crocodile
Affiliation: Crexar's crew.
Appearance: Like Crominus, but with brown scales, no crown, no cape, and bulkier gold armor.
Weapons and gear: A spiky mace and the blaster in this image:
Personality: Loud, wild, sounds like someone in a biker gang.
Backstory: The same as Crexar. He helped in the attempted theft of the golden chi, got exiled, and remained fiercely loyal to Crexar. He is a member of Crexar's crew.
Name: Rezin
Age: 38
Gender: Female
Species: Raven
Affiliation: Crexar's crew
Appearance: Mostly black feathers, with streaks of purple. She has a hook hand on her left arm and a peg leg in place of a right leg.
Weapons and gear: A black chi-powered laser bow and a silver and black scythe.
Personality: Sinister and untrustworthy, able to scam and manipulate others. She doesn't trust the WRM or TI, so she detached herself from the raven tribe.
Backstory: Rezin was a con artist trying to scam someone at the Raven HQ, when it suddenly erupted into battle between the WRM and Rawlin's rebellion, with neutral citizens like Rezin stuck in the middle. An ensuing explosion caused her to lose her left hand and right leg. After getting them replaced, she left the ravens and became a bounty hunter. Soon after, she was found by Crexar and recruited into his crew.
Name: Rhonux
Age: 47
Gender: Male
Species: Rhino
Affiliation: Crexar's crew
Appearance: Gray rhino with black horns and that armor from Ninjago with 1 shoulder pad, but in silver.
Weapons and gear: 2 huge silver hammers that he can wield at the same time.
Personality: Not very smart, but not super dumb either. He loves fighting and smashing stuff.
Backstory: Rhonux was a rhino miner, but he got bored with that, so he became a bounty hunter (to get paid for hunting and fighting people). He then joined Crexar's crew.
Name: Worgon
Age: 71
Gender: Male
Species: Wolf
Affiliation: Crexar's crew
Appearance: Grey wolf with old, shaggy fur. He has the smaller variant of silver shoulder pads, as well as a ripped and tattered gray cape.
Weapons and gear: A long, rusty sword that used to be silver, and a chi-powered laser crossbow.
Personality: Worgon may be the oldest bounty hunter in Crexar's crew, but he is still pretty strong and a fantastic speedor driver from years of practice. He is very wise and has wisdom to impart in pretty much any situation.
Backstory: Unlike the other members of Crexar's crew, Worgon has been a bounty hunter his entire life, so he is the most experienced. He joined the crew after Crexar rescued him from a sinking boat in the West Sea.
OK, there's all the main characters. Now I can start writing this story.

Retribution: A Chima Roleplay Prequel Story

Part I: Origins -----------------
Chapter I Uprising
It was three years ago that a Raven named Rawlin led an uprising (as implied by this chapter's title) and took over his tribe. As Rawlin established Talon Industries, a father and a son were driven apart, each choosing opposite sides. Dr. Radcliffe, one of the most esteemed and brilliant Raven scientists at the time, decided to join Talon Industries, as that was the only way he could continue his scientific studies and research with all the needed resources at his disposal. To his dismay, his 23-year-old son, Rex, stayed with the Wings Row Monarchy and left the Raven Headquarters when it was taken over by Rawlin. Rex was extremely loyal to the tribe's original leadership, and lost all respect he had for his father when Dr. Radcliffe "betrayed the monarchy".
In that same year, the Lion Tribe was at peace, unlike the ravens. Despite their record-breaking amount of time without conflict, the Lions continuously trained battalions of soldiers, adding to their ever-growing army. This was in case the newly-powerful and unpredictable Rawlin ever set his sights on the lions, or the sacred Chi supply they guarded. In addition to that, tensions had been forming between the Lions and Crocodiles, after two crocs named Crexar and Corok attempted to steal a golden chi orb from the Lions a few years back. Therefore, lions continued to be trained for possible combat at the Lion City. Two of these lions, cousins named Lyrix and Lycor, had been moving up the ranks for years, and were both well on their way to becoming the third-in-command of the Lion Tribe—the Field Marshal. Of course, this was partially due to the fact that they were direct descendants of the legendary Lyron. According to Chima's history, Lyron was the very first Lion soldier, one of the founders of the Lion Guard (which later evolved into the Lion army), and the first Field Marshal of the Lion Tribe. Lycor and Lyrix had both enlisted in the Lion army, and were rising through the ranks, reaching the high ranks during the raven tribe's takeover. That was in Chima's past, but it is important to look back and discover new revelations that changed the present. Though the histories of the Raven Tribe and the Lion Tribe are very different and seem unrelated, the stories of these two tribes became intertwined during the years before Rawlin's downfall, and their combined origins would go on to shape Chima's future...

Lyrix, Lycor, and the other lion soldiers ran across the beach, careful not to get too close to the water. They didn't stop running until they got to the large, rectangular gate surrounding the training course. These soldiers were temporarily stationed at a small lion military camp on the shores of the West Sea. Upon finishing their run, the lions panted, quickly licked their paws, and passed around a huge jug of water, which they each drank out of. Lycor and Lyrix patted each other on the back. "That was a good run." Said Lyrix, as the jug was passed to him. "Yep." Said Lycor. "Now time for the battle."
After every soldier had a drink, the General opened the gate. All the lions entered the course, put on vests, and armed themselves with swords and chi rifles. That is, except for the general, who climbed a ladder on the gate's exterior and entered a small tower overlooking the course. "Alright, listen up: the goal here is to capture the chi orb at the end of the course. It's guarded by these armed dummies on wheels, or Sir Punch-a-lots, if you will. They have stun guns, but if they shoot your vest, you're dead. Not literally, of course, but if you get hit, you're out." The Sir Ps were rolling around automatically through the labyrinthine course, except for ten of them at the end of the course, situated in front of a winding staircase going up a pedestal with a basin on top. In the basin was a glowing chi orb. "Ready..." Said the General. "Begin!" He shot a spiky ball into the air with a small blaster, and the ball exploded like a firework. The lion soldiers ran through the tall walls of the maze-like course, only to be blasted by Sir Punch-a-lots coming around the corners. "Be prepared for anything!" The General called out. As they went through with blasters blazing and swords swinging, many soldiers and dummies alike were defeated. Near the end of the course, Lyrix cut a Sir P. in half, only for another one to shoot him from behind. "I'm out!" He called to Lycor. Lycor ran from the side at the ten guard Sir P.s, cutting the heads off of each of them with his sword as he ran. As the dummies, the broken objects, landed on the sand that made up the floor of the base, Lycor ran up the staircase and grabbed the chi orb. "We're finished with this course." Said the General. "Good job, all of you."

OOC: well since you tagged me i might as well be interested is this an entire chima rp prequel story or just mainly for Lycor? if it's for all then for the Minor Tribes Skunkeltia and Ranger should probably be in it... i would say Foltrox too but i'm not gonna suggest using someone's RPC without him here to help write it. Fluxx would just have been a young fox in the tribe, Traxx would not have come to Chima yet, and Tredd would have been training to be a ninja with his nomad family.

It's mainly focusing on the Raven and Lion tribes. Any other characters outside of those tribes are ones that I made up for this story, like Crexar and his crew.
Miles away from the West Sea Lion training camp, a Talon Industries inventor was hard at work in the Raven headquarters. This was Doctor Radcliffe, and he was sitting in his office on the 23rd floor of the HQs black tower. The only reason he had joined TI in the first place was to continue his work in the field of science. However, being one of the raven tribe's best scientists, he was quick to rise through the ranks of this new empire; now he had been ordered by Rawlin himself to design a top-secret war machine. Dr. Radcliffe had been told that its purpose was primarily for defense; it would theoretically be mounted on top of the Raven HQs tower, but would have a detachable ability in case the higher-ups of TI needed to escape from a wrecked HQ in the future. Rawlin had called it the Mobile Missile Strike Command, or MMSC for short. Dr. Radcliffe was currently working on the machine's blueprints. A lot of progress had been made so far; Radcliffe gave it a downward beak-shaped design and a system of hangars. Indeed, the final design of the MMSC was nearing completion. He just had to figure out how to design the mechanism that would allow it to attach to the top of the black tower. Radcliffe got out of his chair and paced around his office. "Think, Doctor, think." He said. "There must be a way." "Hey Radcliffe." A voice entered his field of hearing. Radcliffe turned and saw an eagle with dark blue feathers fly through an open section of his wall-sized window. It was Radcliffe's good friend and fellow scientist Eglor. Radcliffe quickly put the MMSC's blueprints back in his desk drawer. "What are you working on now?" Asked Eglor. "I can't tell you. It's a secret project." Replied Radcliffe. "Ah, I see." Said Eglor. "You wanna go to the new restaurant at Eagle Spires? It's got awesome seafood, thanks to our new fishing boats we constructed over at the West Sea." "Sure." Said Radcliffe. "It's my lunch break right now anyway." "It is??" Asked Eglor, surprised. "Then why are you working right now?" "It's an important project that I've got to get done." Answered Radcliffe. "Although I guess I could take a short break. Let's go to that seafood restaurant." "Yes, let's!" Said Eglor. "Even scientists need breaks."
Later, as the two friends ate lunch at the Eagle HQ, the cylindrical restaurant they were in suddenly detached from the spire. "What's going on??" Asked Radcliffe, shocked. "This is one of those new 'modern' restaurants." Said Eglor. "It's got rocket boosters, and it doubles as a transport that can give tours of Eagle Spire." "But how does it attach and detach from the spire itself?" Radcliffe inquired. "Well, legend has it that there were tribes back in the old days who had detachable vehicles." Eglor explained. "A little bit of their technology has been discovered by the eagles, and we've started building detachable vehicles of our own. Indeed, the front cockpits of our ultra striker tanks and interceptor jets now double as escape pods in case the vehicles get wrecked in battle." "Fascinating..." Said Radcliffe, deep in thought. After the tour had ended and they'd finished lunch, Radcliffe asked the pilot/restaurant owner all about the way it detached from the HQ.
After Radcliffe's lunch break ended and he returned to his office, he finished the MMSC blueprints. "The plans are completed at last!" He said triumphantly, as he showed the blueprints to Rawlin. "Excellent!" Rawlin said, grinning. "Our factory workers will begin constructing it first thing tomorrow. Good job, Doctor. I knew I could count on at least one of my scientists to design this." "Keep in mind that it will take a very long time to build." Radcliffe said. "That is, if it is to be the planned size." "Yes, of course." Said Rawlin. "Keep the blueprints safe in your office for now. If anyone tried to steal them, they wouldn't expect to look there."
The next morning, Radcliffe was ordered to report to Rawlin with the MMSC plans immediately after breakfast. But when he went into his office and opened the desk drawer, he was met with a shocking surprise. "No, no, no! This can't be true!" He exclaimed, frantically rummaging through his desk. He pulled feathers out of his head when he still couldn't find the MMSC blueprints anywhere. "WHAT?!?!" Shouted Rawlin when Radcliffe reluctantly reported to him. "YOU LOST THE BLUEPRINTS?!?!" "I didn't lose them." Radcliffe growled. "I put them exactly where you told me to. They must have been stolen overnight." "Some eagle must've flown through your office's window and grabbed the blueprints, then!" Rawlin said. "Illogical." Radcliffe replied coldly. "My window was completely intact this morning, so no one could've broken it open. And it was locked shut from the inside, so no one from outside could've opened it." "Then this can only mean one thing!" Said Rawlin. "We have a traitor amongst us! Only a raven could've known the location of the blueprints last night. There must've been a raven here who was loyal to the Wings Row Monarchy, and now he's flown off with the plans so the WRM can build their own MMSC to destroy us! Your son—wasn't he loyal to the WRM? Surely he would know where his own father's office is located!" Radcliffe's face fell. His son... "My son doesn't live here anymore." He answered. "He left with the other WRM loyalists a few months ago when Talon Industries took over the HQ." "Well at least one WRM Raven stayed behind," said Rawlin, "and he or she went undercover as one of us, and took the MMSC plans." "Let's think about this logically." Radcliffe said. "The spy couldn't have gotten to the WRM base yet without a vehicle. He or she is still somewhere out in Chima. We just need to find out where. Maybe we could hire a bounty hunter to track the spy, intercept 'em before he or she makes it to the WRM base, and bring the plans—and the traitor—back here." "Well..." Rawlin said hesitantly. "I do know a bounty hunter, but me and him aren't exactly on good terms." "Maybe you could get him to see eye-to-eye with you." Suggested Radcliffe. "Do you have anything you can use to negotiate with him?" "Oh yeah." Said Rawlin, grinning.
