Spider: "I've just received word that a large force of the Ice birds —Vultures, I think they're called— has arrived at Queen Severix's Arctic base. They've stated that they have a problem of some kind with our forces up there, and that they want to figure it out diplomatically. The other scorpions in the room look startled at the mention of the Vultures, due to their previous experiences with the ice birds. Skaulus: "Hmm...scorpions, you've encountered these Vultures face-to-face before, yes? What can you tell us about them? Are they honorable, or deceptive? Civilized, or barbaric?" Stannis laughs at this last statement, replying: "If they're barbaric, they wouldn't have walked up to mother's gates asking for a diplomatic meeting." Scorpion: "T— to answer your question, King Skaulus, we scorpions had fought in a war with the vultures. For the most part it seemed purely territorial, as they wanted to reclaim their land in the Great Desert, which we'd conquered prior. They've since allied with the Leopard Tribe and moved out of the Great Desert. The Leopards were a species and faction with fire chi, who helped King Scorpio the Stinger Brotherhood rescue the rest of us from the Icebears' HQ... so if the vultures allied with the leopards and left the lands they froze, they've probably been redeemed." Skaulus: "And what do you know about the leopards?" Scorpion: "Er, not much, admittedly. We've only seen them face-to-face once, when they helped the Stinger Brotherhood unfreeze us from the Glacier. But if they went to those lengths to rescue a tribe they'd never even known prior, I'd call that honorable." Skaulus: "Perhaps..."
