Fellow sith, jedi, bounty hunters, grey jedi, and overall, RP'ers. I noticed something rather peculiar the other day; egorsmirnov 's rank. He is the Chima RP Rep, meaning he represents the RP of chima outside of the chima forums. I asked Shamrock about this, and he said that this was a position that the members of a RP vote on, to decide who best embodies their RP. So, I have two things i need to tel you. One, I will be running for Rep. And two, anyone else who wishes to run may. also, ego, if you could explain exactly how you ran, then that would be great.

Do the Mods officially back this up?
They always do. Rp reps have powers in there respective forums. I.e. I can edit posts, lock threads, make threads fall, make threads stick to the top, bump threads (without posting), I can also view poll voters (never used that) and its my duty to help new players out, aswell as organise votes and insure everything goes well and smoothely. i.e. recently in the rp, 2 hq leaders retired, so it was my job to find users to replace them and to have all users know about this replacement.
The way running for representative works is that people say if they wish to run (there is a deadline for this, and you cant vote before this deadline is over), then everyone who wants to vote, votes, if you don't want to vote, then you don't vote. When I became rep, I won with a 66% majority. i.e. 2/3rds of all users who voted, voted for me. The user with the most votes (within a week) wins, you cant vote for yourself, and if the votes are tied, (i.e. 2 people get 5 votes each) then they run again until there is a winner. All votes are public, don't even bother voting in jammers or in messages to a user, if everyone cant see your vote it doesn't count.
So yeah that's the basics of being an rp rep, you also have to respect the guidelines and diffuse problems.

Interesting. And the mods actually put that RP Rep thing on your profile?

We should first vote if we should have an RP rep. I personally don't want one, I think they have too much power.

i understand rino, but think about it. these powers were given for a reason; to make sure that a forum is a fun, safe environment. they can not be abused, as they would just be taken away. and they are a reminder to everyone else that their rp exists, and are a positive influence in community. and if someone did misuse it, then the mods can undo the damage.

You're not allowed to be biased as a rep, and it is possible for the users and mods to sack you. So your position isn't guaranteed

i am more the person who would tell the mods if someone started editing someone`s posts to say "hi"
but not if someone edited a post because someone swore in it

Yes, but remember when we voted on having a FAC and we disagreed? How is this different?

buuuut i agree with rino
Yes, this RP is pretty well known for being more free than the others. I want to keep it that way.

but this way, IT IS MORE FREE. you have someone who can help do things that the people always wanted, but couldn't have because those sort of powers aren't given.
