Wow! Good luck with that mate. What kind of car?SaveSave
Nice! I've got three(!) WIPs right now. One is nearly complete, one is just a rear axle and one is just a front axle.
I can tell you that all of the real-life cars are between 2.5 and 3.5 litres. Between the three of them, there are 22 cylinders and 4 turbochargers.
I don't have an instructor yet so who knows? But if I do supervised practice, it'd be in my parents' Golf Mk7 1.6 TDI because it's a manual. If you learn and do the test in an auto, your license is restricted to automatic cars only, and most small cars are manual (especially used ones).
Cool! You got a lot of Lego then?
Well you wouldn't want too much more than that, unless you're willing to pay of your hat for all that fuel.
I see. Yes good point. My Dad hates automatic cars though. SaveSave

Since I got the 42043 and 42055 I've been rolling around in the stuff. Don't think I'll ask for any more for my birthday coming up since I've got more than enough.
Not to mention insurance. I've heard that anything over a 1.6 becomes very difficult insurance-wise. To be honest, a Mk7 Golf is pretty nice, and probably better than the cars that driving instructors use.
I think there are some cars that would be awful with an auto (say a Honda S2000 or something similarly driver-focused) and some that would be awful with a manual (anything super-luxurious or ultra-high-performance).

Sheesh! What would I give to have enough Lego to not ask for it!
Really? I didn't know that.
I see. What colour is your parents current car?
My brother is at the whole "Lamborghini's are supreme" act agin. Ugh.SaveSave

The Golf is darkish-blue. Our other car is a Seat Ateca (basically a budget VW Tiguan or Audi Q3) in dark grey.
Lamborghini aren't really good at anything in my opinion. The Huracan is an overpriced R8. The Aventador's extra power is cancelled out by the extra weight and size, and it has an awful gearbox. The Veneno and Centennario are just Aventador ripoffs which only sell because they're rare. And the upcoming Urus is an uglier, overpriced, less practical Cayenne Turbo.
In my opinion, this is the pecking order for supercars (not an exhaustive list):
McLaren Super Series > McLaren Sports Series > 911 GT3 > Audi R8 > 911 Turbo > V12 Ferrari (excluding FF/GTC4Lusso - that's in its own class) > V10 Lamborghini > V12 Lamborghini > V8 Ferrari

Nice. Good colour.
I re-looked them up yesterday, they are horrible. He seems to think that the Centennario is the best thing that he ever saw.
I see Lamborghini is right at the bottom. SaveSave

Yeah. The only Lamborghini I think I'd ever want is a Huracan. It would either be the Performante or the LP580-2 Spyder. But there are so many better cars out there which are also cheaper. But I don't like V8 Ferraris either. The California T/Portofino is heavy and in my opinion vastly inferior to the 911 Cabriolet, Vantage, DB11 or anything else in its segment. The 458 and 488 are better but in my opinion still not as good as the competing McLarens and Lamborghinis.
Yeah minivans can be quite hard to love. Most of them are pretty ugly (Fiat Multipla, SsangYong Rodius, virtually everything French). The Zafira is probably one of the less-offensive ones in my opinion.
Meanwhile I might be learning to drive soon! Let's hope I drive better in real life than I do on the Xbox...
I agree. BTW I'm gonna post a Lego version of the Porsche 718 Cayman on the windstorms gallery soon.
Wow! Good luck with that mate. What kind of car?SaveSave
I just finished my Ford GT model!
Now on to work on the next WIP. However, I'm going away over Xmas (I won a place on some advanced maths training camp in Hungary - it's all expenses paid!), so don't expect it for another few months...

Woah. That is amazing. I finished my car but I had to make and do with the colour. Well done on both points! I hope that goes well for you.SaveSave

That seems really cool. I don't think I have made a lego moc in my life though, the best I can do is a simple house...
