(This was something that I had posted on the LMBs a week or two ago, and I figured I'd bring it over to the new forum)
Hi all, this is a theory that I came up with when I saw Rogue One opening night, and when I saw it again yesterday. I haven't been on any discussion forums or watched any videos about the movie, so all of this speculation is solely my own. I don't believe there will be any major spoilers in this post, but if you haven't seen the movie you should be wary of reading this. Anyways, I'll stop drawing this introduction out and get into the theory.
The gist of this topic is that I believe it was Snoke who was the one who we saw visiting Vader when he was in his Bacta Tank in his castle (on Mustafar? I don't remember if they said it by name or not) and informed him Krennic had arrived.
To explain in further detail why I believe this, I'll take you through my thought process as I saw the movie the first and second times. The first time I was watching the movie I immediately noticed the uniqueness of the structure we were seeing and I deducted it was not a standard military base, but rather more of a personal retreat for Vader. (similar in function to the Bast Castle in Legends) I also found logic in this because I don't believe we see any Stormtroopers or other regular military personnel. Now you may be wondering why this all is relevant to the Snoke theory. I feel that this information indicates that this is potentially a place where other Dark Side users would live and be trained by Vader, as there have been examples of the Emperor/Vader using other Force users to accomplish their bidding.
Next, we'll talk about the actual scene with individual who I believe to be Snoke. The first thing that caught my attention is when we first see him he is not in a regular Imperial uniform, but rather in black robes which struck me as being Sith garments. The other thing that really caught my attention was his face. I don't really know how to explain this one, but as I was watching it just struck me as being incredibly similar to Snoke's face. This is more of a qualitative assessment since there isn't really a way we can compare the two faces without some fancy computer software. I think the only way you can decide this for yourself is to watch the movie and decide how similar they look.
Now I'd like to talk about the second time I watched the movie, where I watched more closely since I knew what to look for. I observed that the way the movie reveals his face, I believe support this person being Snoke. When the scene begins, we only see his back for some time. This is the same way that both Tarkin and Leia (characters we already know about) were first revealed in this movie. When we do see his face, the reveal is quite slow and deliberate, so this also makes me feel that his face was supposed to have an impact on the viewer.
That's about all I have to say for now about the theory, though I may post about a few other things later. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I'd love to hear any feedback you may have.
snoke is director krennic who used the dark side to survive the death star blast and now he wants revenge on the galaxy

Yikes Kepler's you're everywhere.
I do moderate here.

I guess it's possible, if he changed his name. Vader's attendant is named Vanee, according to the visual dictionary.
BUUUTTT I honestly hope Snoke is Snoke. It'd be cool if he was a Guardian/Shaman of the Whills or something like that, but it'd probably feel odd if he was a proper character we've seen before. But as far as those theories go, I'd say Vanee is one of the more likely candidates.
Also, two similarly-dressed Imperial dignitaries can be seen in Episode VI in the Emperor's Throne Room, and one of them is even called Kren Blista-Vanee. So there's that, too.

I just read up on the Wookiepedia articles about both Vaneé and Blista-Vanee; going off my gut feeling I don't think they're related, but maybe if I could find a better picture of Vaneé I could make a better judgement.
I do agree about the Shaman of the Whills thing, as it would definitely make sense as to why Kylo would want to follow him, maybe offering some sort of connection to Anakin/Vader through the Force.
