Far to the West, the Bat Fleet is exploring the Unknown Regions of the sea (which explains why the fleet has been gone ever since leaving the Eagle shoreline). On his flagship The Ascendancy, Grand Admiral Balthazar intercepts a scout ship from the farther southwest of foreign design, looking very different from traditional Chima and Outland vehicles. The ship, Outbound Flight (props if you get the reference) seems to have both flying and sailing capabilities. The bats establish a radio frequency. Balthazar: "Identity yourself, scout vessel." ???: "I should be asking you to identify yourselves! We've never seen any sentient beings from the east in all our time, even as we are far from our home." Balthazar: "This is Balthazar, one of the 4 Supreme Crawler Commanders, current leader of the Bat Tribe, Grand Admiral of the Bat Fleet, a division of the Crawler Empire. And you are...?" ???: "What? What's a bat? Crawler Empire? There is another in existence beyond our great empire?!" Balthazar says calmly: "I answered your question, but you did not answer mine. Who and what are you?" ???: "You will learn nothing of the sort! If there are evolved beings to the West, as we have long suspected, we must find the western continent or island chain that they come from, so our eternal empire can conquer it!" Balthazar (addresses the bats on the bridge of his ship, and on the other ships): "Fire on that vessel and destroy it." Bat: "But Grand Admiral—" Balthazar: "They have refused to reveal who and what they are, and they have clear intentions of conquering Chima. We can't risk any of the beings onboard that ship escaping and reporting our existence to their superiors, because if they do have an empire as they claim, they could be a threat to the Crawler Empire, and must be terminated." Bats: "Yes, Grand Admiral." ???: "Wait, wh—?" Balthazar: "You may fire when ready." The Bat Fleet's ships open fire, destroying the Outbound Flight before it can escape. The ship is obliterated in a fiery explosion, leaving nothing remaining. Balthazar has the Fleet turn northwest.
