Bionicle was the golden age of toymaking. A time when companies still cared about making quality content to go along with their product. BIONICLE by itself was very strange, but through quality marketing and multimedia techniques, it secured its place as a truly excellent LEGO theme.
From its exceptionally humble beginnings in 2001, to its tragic fall from grace in 2010 -- the story of the theme as a product is almost as rich as the theme's actual plot.
An epic story of powerful heroes... villains who live to destroy... locked in combat with the fate of a universe at stake...
this is the essence of what BIONICLE truly is. And if you go into the details and take the time to invest yourself in this world -- you might be left wondering why you never took the time to grow up with it while it was around.

Like the fact that anything is better than nothing Like the fact it was the only way I ever got ANY Bionicle sets Like the way it made my parents realize I like boy LEGOs, and Bionicle in particular Like the way that most (ok, I realize not all) of the complaints against it are bogus – or at least badly founded Besides, I have the right to have an opinion that's different than yours. Something I enjoy about BIONICLE is how it has been presented on several media platforms and merchandise. It has films, comic books (Yeah DC!! BIONICLE Gen 2 is Rebirth confirmed), video games, books, toothbrushes, shoes, bags, shirts and just a lovely fan community.
For me, BIONICLE was one of my primary leisure since I was about 2, so its always been important to me. As for Rebirth Gen 2, I didn't get to involved in the second year, so I don't feel as involved in that as the original run - though Rebirth Gen 2 is still likeable and gave the opportunity for several fan-fictions.

Just a warning: the Netflix show is Gen 2, which most fans agree isn't as good as Gen 1.
No -- let me take this statement a step forward:
Gen 2 is complete trash the only thing worth investigating is G1, which is the kind of life enriching content I was talking about
Correction: The gen 2 story was trash. The builds were quite nice. Although they often did not get the level of detail that gen 1 did (Look at gen 2 feet. Now look at gen 1 metru feet), they were much sturdier, with stabler and well designed mechanisms.

The Netflix show wasn't very good. One of the episodes ended with Lewa saying that they would defeat the Makuta...Just because they 'cared'
I have read the first book and it was kinda a remake of the webisodes with very little new info.
I love those feet.
