Welcome! This is the Third Age RP's Battle and Duel Topic, where you can challenge fellow RPers to either army combat or RPC combat. For those who are new, all battles and duels here have no bearing on the events in the main RP.
Additionally, this is a Training Center for all new recruits, so feel free to ask someone more experienced to show you how combat works in this RP!

1,200 units, worth 5,000
Considering how you crush me with Bree Units, I think I'd rather work my way up to the Dwarves. So, let's start with Bree on equal ground, and then try Erebor Units. What do you mean by that? Unless you're saying it's taking place completely in a forest, then I don't understand. I mean that their is at least a tree every ten feet, with clumps all around kind of a thing.
Once I look at your list, it reminds me a lot of your army that you just recently destroyed me with. *The Goblin Trappers move in front of the army, setting up Zwanglider cables and traps as they go.* *The Rest of the Army stays back, sending scouts out in all directions.* (scouts are skirmishers)
Tul Generas of the Orcs, Darthraxx of the dragon Knights. I RP, and have lots of fun.

Fair enough.
I mean that at least part of the map is reasonably heavily forested.
Oh, it's very different actually.
*The scouts find my army hunkered down in one of the more heavily forested areas. The spearmen are set up around the scorpions, and axemen wait on either side. The other troops are nowhere to be seen.*

OK, that's fine. whatever.
Yeah, the basic units are very different, but the general layout of the army is very similar.
*As the scouts gather said info, they relay to the Trappers to pull back their traps.* *The army advances slowly, not yet getting into range.* *Sod Boxers scan the area around the densely forested part of the map.* *50 Goblin Youngling Archers get into the Zwangliders.*
So. . . How big is this forested area? How far into is your main force from my main force? How far is your main force from all other edges of the forest. How densely is it packed?

Actually, I would say that the units themselves are quite similar, but their purpose is entirely different.
*The Sod Boxers find little, besides signs of my army having moved into position.* *My troops watch, and wait.*
Big enough. The section that I'm in extends a bit farther than bowshot in every direction from where I'm at. It's moderately dense, thick enough to be called a proper forest without much view of the sky, but not jungle-thick. There are, of course, some small natural trails leading through. Your tanks will have some difficulty making it through, but they could pass given some effort.

*The Sod Boxers take oil, tinders and wood and begin building a Fire Blockade in three directions. This includes all nearby burnable substances.* *The Snipers and Trappers begin building a wide ditch around the forest area.* It's approximately an inch thick, 2 feet wide. *The Zwangliders and Javilineers move into position in the one direction the Sod Boxers aren't working on stuff.*
Thanks for the large bundle of wood to use to smoke you out into my choice of position!

Keep in mind that you can't burn the whole forest down. That's kind of a region-altering amount of damage. But you know, I think I'll put a stop to this manually.
Also, I don't really understand your ditch thing. Are you digging a ditch or are you building some sort of barrier? And how is it only an inch thick? Or two feet wide? Do you mean two feet deep? And if so, what's only one inch?
*Hundreds of arrows come from the treetops, quickly destroying your Sod Boxers before they get their fires going.* *My army continues waiting.*

I'm not. I'm just burning a large chunk of forest down. The Ditch will make sure it doesn't become Region-altering. The ditch is basically a fire barrier. I'm moving the grass and bushes out of the way for a 2 feet area, and that's it.
Nulled. You said that the Sod Boxers couldn't see anything, and since the Sod Boxers are stealth units, they should be able to hear your troops. Due to you having mostly bad non-stealth units (the 300 Bree men) then their is no way your troops could have snuck up on me. Men are not naturally sneaky, they have to work to be sneaky. Now, that's not to say your troops can't be in that forest area, it's large enough to hide them. Just don't try to sneak up on a stealth unit with them. Even a normal guard would be able to see the Tookish Archers, unless I'm VERY mistaken, and they are stealth units. Also, 200 people wary of their backs, at least one will raise the alarm pretty quick.
*As the Sod Boxers hear/see/finish and retreat back. Then a unit lights off the ring of fire from a distance, smashing any Dunedain who attempt to stop them by picking up oil caskets/dumping water over it etc.*

Ah, I see.
First, your Sod Boxers were looking where nobody was. All of my troops are inside the heavily forested area, while your Sod Boxers were looking around the heavily forested area (if you'd like to change that, I have some moves I'll change too). As far as I'm aware, the only troops you may have sent into the thicker patch of woods were a few skirmishers. Second, I think full-fledged Dunedain are more than qualified for hunting Goblins, seeing as how they kind of spent their entire lives learning how to see but not be seen. As for the Tooks, you are indeed very mistaken. Hobbits are the most naturally stealthy race, and even the least stealthy of them can avoid being seen if they don't want to be. Heck, with limited light, they can openly line the side of a road and still not be seen by those walking down it (as they did in the Scouring of the Shire).
*Although a few fires are lit, they soon die out. The barrage of arrows and hasty retreat meant that not much could be done to aid in spreading fires (a little bit of oil spilled on the ground was about it), and so the fires don't make it very far. Anyone who stayed back to try to help said fire spread didn't last long enough to make much of a difference.*

OK, I thought that around meant around the area they were in, which is the border of the thicker patch of woods. So yeah, let's change those moves and go from their.
