Britain is technically multiple countries, and does not include Belfast or Dublin.
Sorry, I needed to say that.
MY WORK HERE IS DONE! *superhero pose*
((also why is my type automatically Verdana?))
In Britain I was including the broader scope, The UK and Ireland. Belfast is in Northern Ireland, Dublin is in Ireland.
But that's not Briatin. Britain is the island... You could make a case for Northern Ireland, since it's part of the U.K., even if technically not on Britain, but not Ireland. And never, ever tell a native born Irish person they're British, they'll probably get very mad.
Are there any 'founders' of TRC left on here besides LEGOrebooted, Trenz, and I? Steph, you joined really early, but I don't remember if you were one of the first or second pagers...? Brian, same for you...? And Nid, you were kinda-sorta a member early on, if I recall. My memory is terrible, though, so if someone could remind me, I'd be grateful.
Not a second pager, sorry. I joined when it was in the 000's.
Eh, we can't both be right if we say conflicting things. If you said the sky was blue and I said it was red we couldn't both be right... We can agree to disagree, though.
Please, please, please, do not have him turn good. I want him to stay evil, and if I was responsible for that decision, he definitely would remain so. I actually wouldn't mind it of Rey turned to the Dark... I mean, there's absolutely no way it'll happen, but it'd be different and kinda cool.
I actually dont. Too what?
Or Rey could turn Sith! lol, jk
Ever heard the saying. "Red sky at night, sailor's delight. Red sky in morning, sailors take warning." So there ARE red skies, yet is is blue.
Yeah, but think of it. Jedi padawan goes bad, despite being so strong with the Force in the Skywalker family, almost entirely destroys Jedi Order, kills his father while suffering and being "torn in two". He has some good in him, so it would be dreadfully tragic to the storyline if he dies. Star Wars does like happy endings.
It's so..........Japanese Cafeteria... Ya know?
It's Dark Side! The aren't around anymore!
Poor example, then. But you understand what I mean.
Idk... I mean, I think he'll turn good, but I still hope not. I like tragic.
Eh, it's got history in Lucas' development of SW, so I like it. Did you know in one of the early drafts of ANH, there was a character named 'Mace Windy'.
Ah, yes, tired and unfunny jokes. My specialty. I agree, she doesn't. It was obvious through JJ's direction that she was worried she would spend her entire life there and longed to leave. JJ did it quite well without spelling it out.
No, I mean when they remove his helmet. They still have the original guy (who was the same one who played the ghost) when Luke removes his helmet and he dies. The 'Tell your sister... You were right...' guy. His name is Sebastian Shaw, I think.
I suppose so.
Lol. Well, they are funny, if used in the right context. You used it in a way I have never heard before, so it's amusing.
Oh, yeah. Now what about him?
Yeah. NOBODY has an accent. Period. Anyway, Liam Neeson is British.
I don't know... I hate that sand joke... It's irritating, and you see it everywhere.
I was saying that he's British, so it's not totally weird to have a British Skywalker.
Actually Liam Neeson is from Northern Ireland, which is part of the UK, but not part of Britain. I feel like we discussed this previously.
Judge him by his size, do you? When 900 years old, you reach, look as good, you will not!
Yah, but he's also the writer and he's the only one who knows everything about TLJ, besides maybe Kathleen Kennedy.
I dont think Lor San Tekka will be involved anymore at all... I think he was just a throwaway character, who will hopefully appear in some other cartoon or comic or something.
I saw her in Thor, as well. She's pretty much the same, and I'm not a fan.
Yeah, I'd prefer they just use it to de-age the original actor than recast a dead actor, but sooner or later, it'll reach a point of advancement where it'll look good enough that whenever they do a recast, or cast a younger version of a character, they'll probably do CGI make-up. I'm not arguing its rightness or wrongness, but just that it's going to happen within our lifetimes.
Yeah, that's pretty much what I meant. So I agree.
I 100% disagree.
It's actually the way he talks that hits a nerve somewhere.
Yeah....but remember how JJ said "Rey has not encountered her parents in The Force Awakens." But later he said, "What I meant by that is..." and went on to explain. Basically his sentence was a word game. He was speaking in figures.
I was thinking Lor San Tekka had something to do with Rey, or the padawans. I mean, Kylo obviously hated him for something. And how does he have that map to Luke Skywalker, anyway? But I think he is mostly a tool, just someone to kick off and begin Kylo's badness, and to give Poe the map.
Okay. I really try not to hate actors, though there are a few......
Yes, but I just don't think CGI can capture the art of a person. Everybody moves, talks, show emotion, in their own way. A computer can't quite capture that, because personality and feeling are involved.
Ok. Cool beans.
I noticed. xD
Oh, well, he is voiced by the guy who did Miss Piggy.
I actually don't remember that. Explain in more detail, please.
Lor San Tekka was a member of the Church of the Force, so he was kind of aligned with the Jedi, and probably a friend of Luke's. I think so, too... They needed to pick up with the map somewhere.
Examples?
Mhm. That's why motion capture was invented. It's still not 100% the same, but it's getting closer. There WILL be a point when it looks photorealistic and the motion is pretty close to spot on, and it won't be all that far away. Within the next 50 years, probably a bit less.
Her 'persona'. The way she acts. I find her irritating, and not a terribly good actress... And it's just her acting, I mean. I saw one thing where she was playing Password on some late night show with J.J. Abrams, and she seems nice enough IRL.
Oooh. Okay.
So, you're the admin on FSWRP, right? Did you choose Padme purposely to irritate me?
That's pretty much exactly my track record. Wanna see all these ideas made into full stories, but actually sitting down and writing them isn't as easy is it sounds.
Same here! I'll have to try to actually write some this summer.
Ditto. Let me know if you post any, because I'll read them.
My history teacher just tried to have us watch a pirated episode of a TV series for a quiz, but no one could get it to work so he had to call it off, which gave me a bit of a laugh.
Once a guest speaker just straight up told my class she watched pirated movies. And I know some friends who do it too.
In all honesty, I have in the past myself.... The more I became aware about it's damage, I stopped. I still know how to find pretty much any video I would like online, though I don't do it, and it's pretty frighteningly easy.
But, I mean, it would, that's kinda how the Sith work... They could probably try and make a work around, though. There's always a workaround.
Assumedly she escaped. Still humiliating, though. She was literally dumped in the trash.
Thats probably true! He even kinda hinted on his social media awhile back that the Darth Jar Jar theory might've been the original plan, which is kinda neat.
...
She honestly wasn't very good at her job. I heard a theory that she is actually a Resistance spy.
Yes, that was one of the cooler things he's done. And one of the main reasons I 100% belice the Darth Jar Jar theory.
I mean, that's possible, but then you'd think the Resistance would've just called her up and asked her to shut down the shields when they didn't know how to destroy the base instead of sending Han, Chewie and Finn in. Did you ever see the deep-cover Kylo theory?p
I don't 100% believe it, but I do think that it's highly possible, and kinda like the idea.
On the ither side of the spectrum, my dad is the one who introduced me to Godzilla when I was about 4.
Correct. Up until last year, all Japanese Godzilla films have used almost entirely suits. The time-travel in the movie is really confusing, but if you think of it as a stable time-loop, it works.
Ooh, he must be cool then. Which did you watch first?
What about that one weird American one from the 90s which everyone apparently hated?
Yeah, I'm one of those users you just don't meet. Cool, I'm sure you would've been much more popular than me as relations are all the better if you know the user personally.
Thank you, it's always nice to be welcomed... anywhere, really. Heh, a page a day's fine by me. I'm a bit slow... Which reminds me , I've drafted up some signatures you might like (unless you've found one already.)
{JAMMERS! stephanie3965 ONLY!} Here are some variants of signatures with trees as requested:
Also, I made these in case you wanted something that went with your avatar:
Hope you like them!
Yeah. On the LMBs there were all these Rank 8 users that you were wondering why you had never seen them before. Actually, I think the kewl kids always found me a little odd.
We are Relaxed, but we try to beat other topics in posts sometimes.
Yeah, it's a bit complicated with putting pics in posts: just drag the image and drop it onto the URL bar at the top of your browser, copy the URL address and in the reply/message area paste it into the "Image URL" in the insert image tool (make sure to delete the "http://" if it appears before pasting the URL). The image should appear in the body of the post, and once you have that just message it to one of the Moderators such as Ben or Shamrock asking for it to be your signature. Just pick your favourite! And I thank you for your praise, it really is encouraging.
