Um... You do realize that if nothing else is said about them, we don't know that they're dead, right? If nothing else is said, then for all we know, they all survived. By definition of 'nothing else', they were never said to be dead, and therefore you can't say that they're all dead any more than I can see they were turned into giant purple chickens when they hit the bottom. So, no, I can't name one movie where its false, but you can't name one where it's true... Otherwise something else would've been said about them. And if something else has been said, then it is impossible that nothing else is said, by definition. It's paradoxical.
With your logic Han Solo is alive:S...
Nope. With my logic we just don't know for certain that Han's dead. Which we technically don't... Until VIII when I think we will have it confirmed. However, when you look at both the case of Han and the case of Maul, while both seemingly died, there are some major differences indicating that Han even more likely did. Firstly, the actions of people afterwards, such as mourning, said he died, even if not through words. (To be fair, actions indicated the same for Maul, though to a lesser degree). Secondly, while Maul had the Dark Side to aid in his survival and recovery, Han was not Force sensitive. Thirdly, and most importantly, we know about human physiology, and know that a human really couldn't survive that.... We don't know that for certain with Zabraks. And, lastly, and also very importantly, Starkiller Base blew up shortly after. Maul had time to recover, as Naboo wasn't going anywhere, while Han, if by some miracle he survived, would've had to drag himself to some ship really quickly and get off the planet.
Essentially what I'm saying is this: by using my logic alone, Han may still be alive. Not saying he is, it's possible, though unlikely. However, when you examine both cases, Maul's and Han's, in their fullness, and not just looking at this one element, we can see that while it's not technically impossible, it's really, really unlikely for Han to have, but Maul has a decent chance. I'm not saying that my logic for Maul surviving is only that they never technically confirmed he died, I'm saying that it is a piece of a larger amount of evidence indicating the possibility, and countering you're argument that said just because he wasn't mentioned to be alive in the film means he's dead.
I agree. It's not my theory, I read it online (I think from Trenzy, actually). It's just works.
OH YEAH someone on twitter brought that up and led me to an article -- it's pretty interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if prequel-era books allude to that.
I definitely wouldn't mind that. It's one of the more plausible, and cool, Star Wars theories out there. And it's kinda nice if its never outright said, but it is hinted at.
BTW Ant, my last couple posts and replies did get past moderation in time on the LMB, so if you want you can just reply to them here Not rushing you, just letting you know they got up after all. XD
Neat. Thanks for letting me know. I'll do that now.
Photoshop's a good idea... The one thing I tend to worry about with Photoshopping your characters to give you motivation before the script is written is that you might fall into the pitfall you mentioned previously: basing the character off of another one the actor played if you design the protagonist with a certain actor in mind. Still, probably better than nothing. XD
Neat. It looks like it'll be cool as both.
Yeah, I know that they are, but only if they come from someone with authority, experience, or knowledge more than yourself. Doesn't make much sense, for example, if I give you advice on writing screenplays, because I still haven't done one and you've done a ton. I obviously know less than you on the subject.
Gaffer would be awsome. I'd definitely be willing to do the research and/or training neccesary... But I'd literally do anything you needed. Doesn't have to be something uber cool, if you want more knowledgable folks for that... I'd be willing to lug stuff from place to place, go on coffee runs, literally whatever. XD Or perhaps just whatever job you want a guy to do, but don't have the budget to get someone for. You'd be doing me an honor and a favor just by letting me hang around and watch what happens, one I'd be willing to pay back with whatever you need. XD Essentially, if you happen to have an opening and a person doesn't need a ton of experience for it, then I'd love to do it, no pay necessary.
Oh yeah, I just watched IM for the first time recently, and it definitely is basic, but is also awesome... The reason it's so basic is because every MCU one since has essentially been a deviating version of it. It set the standard for the MCU.
I found it! I'm going to try and start it over this weekend. I can definitely see the visual influence on 11, at the very least... Bow tie!
I've heard about that one, and tried to find it awhile back. No luck in that case. :/
Woah, that's a ton of info. I'm going to research this stuff you mentioned in a bit more depth... Definitely need to expand my technical knowledge.
IT IS LOL, it's just such a deep topic. I recommend reading "Cinematography: Theory and Practice: Image Making for Cinematographers and Directors" by Blain Brown if you want to really learn as much as you can about cinematography on both a technical and artistic level. Excellent book that's used by the top film schools!

True! Especially the Iron Man sequels LOL
Awesome!! His personality shines through, too -- and you might even catch notes of 12 in there at times!
Aww that's too bad. It's not fantastic but I really enjoyed it hahaha

TRUE LOL -- you could always combine concept art pieces though, or just make the faces blank with the paint tool! Just some ideas XD Even basic thumbnail sketches can help a ton.
It will be!!
TRUUUUE but if you ever think of a technique or idea that I might not know about, please do let me know XD
Great!! In the short film I mentioned, there are lots of lighting effects and cool stuff like that, so it'd be a fun project to be a gaffer on. But I'll admit that making coffee runs is equally important. XD
Assistant director is also a really good position, but it requires more knowledge going in. But if you learn all about a position you think you'd want then you can have it!!
