So how was 2017 for me? As bad as 2016. Okay, maybe it was slightly better at some times, but it was still a bad year for me thanks to so much misfortune plaguing my everyday or whenever I'm having a good day. After hoping that 2016 and 2017 would be good years and turning out to be the complete opposites (2015 was the last good year for me), I guess I'm gonna have to say that I'm sure 2018 will be a bad year or worse than 2016 and 2017.
Anyway, assuming you know my interests, here are my top 5 movies of 2017:
1. An R-rated X-Men film (pretty weird to start that way, eh? ) tied with Wonder Woman - 10/10 2. Coco - 9.5/10 3. Beauty and the Beast (pretty underrated imo) - 9/10 4. Another R-rated film by Edgar Wright - 9/10 5. Spider-Man: Homecoming - 8.5/10
As you can see, they're all mainstream, so I'm very sorry about that. Also, if you can see that my number 3 and 4 movies of 2017 have the same scores but not tied, my reason is because I probably liked the first one a bit more over the other/second.

Alright, y'all... if anyone is left. I know I planned to be active more over Christmas break, and that didn't happen, and I'm sorry. Anyway, I'm going to make my retirement official today, four years to the day since I joined the original LMBs.
Not going to call out any names in particular, you all know who you are, and I'd be here all day trying to thank you for the fun we've had. It'd be an impossible task. I know it's just online fiends and it's not supposed to be 'real life', but my time here meant more than most of my time spent in 'real life.' I can, in all honesty say, that my time on the LMBs has formed who I am, who I want to become, and what I want to do with my life more than any relationship short of immediate family. I'll miss you all, but most of you are gone already, anyway, retirement or not. I honestly don't even know if anyone will see this who might care in the slightest about it. I always had kind of a hunch I'd be one of the last of the gang left.
Anyway, I'll probably check in here again after SOLO comes out and after INFINITY WAR, as well as during the summer, and if there are still people here on TRC, then I'll probably want to discuss the film or hang out with as much activeness as I can manage. But, given the page number this chatroom was on, that's probably unlikely, so consider me retired.
Good luck on your further adventures. Live long and prosper. May the Force be with you. Excelsior.

Solo comes out before Infinity War. Anyway, farewell!

Aww, just when I decide to show bacj up for a bit looking for a nice chat.
Well if you ever have a chance, I'd like to hear your quick thoughts on The Last Jedi (assuming you've seen it).
Ignore everything I say, to the best of your ability.
Okay, so February break is coming up next week, and April vacation's in a couple months, so if anyone is active I'll try and log on a few times over that time to make up for that missed time over Christmas break. Still won't have a sustained activity before or after, as most days I don't have nearly enough time to do anything, but during school vacations I usually have more time than I know what to do with.

Thank you. Hopefully I can log on a few times over break at least though.... I love this place too much not to check in once every long while as long as it stays active, in which case, I'd love to chat a bit.

I shooooould have a chance next week! Hopefully anyway. My *quick* thoughts were that I am absolutely in love with it and Rian Johnson is a god among men, but I know that's a bit controversial, so I'll try to expand on that next week when I have some time.

Cool! I agree with you all the way on The Last Jedi! What were your favorite parts of the film?

I'm gonna be honest, the main reason I checked back is I wanted y'all's thoughts in the Solo teaser.
It's very whelming. Not overwhelming and not underwhelming.
Alden Ehrenreich can't win here. Harrison Ford is too unique of a personality. Lando is easier to become. Donald Glover has the easier job.
I think the cinematography looks excellent, but beyond that, I don't know what to expect from this film. It worries me how little they showed of Han in the trailers though, and the rumors that he needed an acting coach don't help.
But I think it will be a fun film, even if Alden is terrible.

The Throne Room scene and Crait where the two best sequences. I also really loved what they did with Luke, and I thought DJ was a fun character. The Snoke decision was absolutely genius, because after that I felt like the story could literally go anywhere. Most movies you have a certain sense of control in, because you know that, due to conventions, most writers won't be willing to do certain things. Rian Johnson doesn't care at all about those conventions, and I love it.
