I've never done a role-play before, so could you answer me this: how do I get started?
Most RPs are based around characters, either ones from the theme of the RP, or original characters. Once you have a character, you do moves, either in the third-person perspective (Groot walked to the door...Groot fired his blaster at the bad guy...ie), or first-person (*walks up to the door*....*fires blaster at the bad guy*...ie).
Outside of that, there's generally a map of sorts you're contained in, in the form of different location topics. The Castle RP and Chima are both HQ based RPs, the JW one is smaller and everybody is on the same team. I think those are the main active ones currently. LOTR is recruiting.

You replied to a year old topic, but this is actually quite useful information.... *takes notes and leaves*

Thanks. I have a little better idea of how to do it now (this is a pretty old topic ), but I'll keep the specifics in mind for the future. I'd join LOTR & JW but I still haven't seen either films (yes i know it sad), but maybe I'll try to pop into Castle, assuming it's more personality-driven rather than based off building bases 'n' such.

Well, darn it, first I'd seen of it. I should've checked the dates.

(I didn't realize that at the time. )
Castle is character-driven, yeah. I think there are provisions for fortifications and troops and the like there, but nobody really uses them much.
