So, considering that the Lego Group has now made a reputation of not caring about its fans, I wonder and I do believe others do, too, whether the Lego Galleries are headed to join Lego Universe, the Creation Lab and the Lego Message Boards. Though on first thought it might seem a very logical assumption that they will do it eventually, I don't think it's that simple. The galleries are much more inherently connected with what Lego is (though I don't think that's gonna stop them if gets in the way). Lego are building games, so it makes sense to be able to have somewhere to share what you build with the world. It's more obvious why Lego would need a gallery than a forum. As I said, though that wouldn't really stop them, if they wanted to close the galleries/ A more valid argument, though, is that there are many different galleries. They are not all one whole of various forums and subforums. They are different platforms. So, it would be a big step, if the Lego Group suddenly decided to close them all.
Even so, I'm not saying they won't and I'm not saying the won't close individual galleries. So, what if suddenly Lego announces they're gonna be closing any or all of the galleries, would it be the LMBs all over again? I currently lack the know-how to make such programs like the LMB Archivist, so I'd like to ask those who can, if they would be interested in trying to make a similar program for the galleries, so that when/if the time comes, we can be ready. With the Boards, we lost two months we could have been using to archive, because there was no proper tool. Let's not have a repetition of that. I know such a program had been made for the Creation Lab when it was closing, but I don't know how compatible it would be with the other galleries. It would probably not work, but I don't know how many changes would be required to make it work. And I don't know if a universal Gallery Archivist could be made or whether each gallery would need its own. I don't understand how easy or difficult this journey would be for someone that decided to walk it and that's why I'm making this topic. To learn if some would at least consider it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lego threw away their galleries as well, after all, they have Lego Life which is essentially the same thing. Everyone's switching to mobile now, they could just push Lego Life even harder if they tossed the galleries.

*Responding to the statement in bold* Interesting point. I can't say whether that's true or not, but I do know that there are probably millions of LEGO fans from all different places (around the world and the internet). There are also probably hundreds of thousands of new LEGO Fans so it's hard to please everybody. Out of the millions of people, I would guess maybe there's only a few thousand of them who use the galleries.
I'm starting to see what LEGO means when they stop themes/products/service, because possibly the usage of a certain LEGO theme/product/service may be so statistically low that it does not actually benefit the growth of the company. Of course it would be wonderful if LEGO kept everything they made, but that would be a very expensive operation. I would infer that most of these changes will happen when there's a difference in the "social climate" of the LEGO Fans overall.

Shutting off the Lego Fans' ways of communication with Lego shows indifference towards them.

Not necessarily. Just because they ended the LMBs doesn't mean they don't care. Even though I would disagree with the closing of the LMBs and the idea of closing the galleries, and even though I may be personally bothered by it, there could be some other circumstance that we can't confirm. I wouldn't assume that just because we feel we've been ignored doesn't mean we've actually been ignored, but it is really difficult to maintain these platforms for the reasons in my previous post.
There's also LEGO Customer Service who are always willing to talk about your feedback and ideas, so you can still talk to LEGO Officials there if you want.

I would not speak so, if there wasn't a particular pattern. Of course, I understand that these moves make sense financially. Lego's motto is supposed to be "Only the best is good enough", right? Such moves as the closing of the Boards are only best for the pockets of those who run the Lego Group. Excuse me if I feel disenchanted about Lego, because it's turned as capitalistic as any other money-seeking black hole of a company and that its true motto has turned into "Only the most profitable is good enough". Yeah, I know it's idealistic of me to think a Lego company could actually be about Lego and not for money, but even the best of us can be fooled by such notions.

I see what you mean. Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever know the true reason behind the closure of the LMBs regardless of The LEGO Group's business economics. I have theories and guesses, but definitely not reliable information. I would prefer to think that if The LEGO Group (or any company) were to be really motivated by money, it would be worse than just simply closing the LMBs, such as raising the prices of LEGO products to inconsistent prices, decreasing employee wages, etc.
I respectfully disagree with everyone who believes the galleris will go. LEGO doesn't "disregard" the desires of the fans, the MBs were just becoming too much for them to handle, and essentially it was bogged down with spam. And they couldn't figure out how to overcome all the glitches, so the logical step was to do away with the boards (to everyone's regret), but for the present it was a good solution. If they took the galleries down soon after, then I would understand hating on them. But just for one necessary decision, however hard it might have been, we can't just automatically assume that they'll throw out everything else we ever enjoyed. That's not fair to them, guys. And I'm sure they will find a better solution to replace the boards sometime in the future, one that will be more easy to use for people on mobile devices. And I can't stress this enough: LEGO Life is NOT...let me repeat that...NOT... a substitute for the MBs. So lose that idea. I think we all just need a little patience, and good will come of it. In the meantime, the galleries will stay. Will they change? Maybe. None of us can say anything for certain. But for the present, let's just enjoy what LEGO still has to offer and not show all this bitterness towards them for one difficult decision they had to made.

Alright, I'ma stop ranting now. xD
WhiteAlligator said that they had no plans to remake the messageboards at all, and then proceeded to follow up with some 'but no one knows what will happen in the future' vagueness when everyone wanted clarity.
Also, I could be wrong here, but Lego is one of the richest companies in the world, surely they could have hired some computer coding wizards to un-bug everything if they cared enough about it? All the glitches and bugs on their sites illustrates apathy quite clearly because they can fix it if they tried.
