What exactly did Matoro's sacrifice do? I know the basic story but I honestly don't know much else.
He acted as a defibrillator for Mata Nui. He restarted his heart, allowing for the Toa Nuva to delve into Karda Nui and restart his brain. Only Teridax kicked him out and took his place.
