But I don't want that either because I know nothing about Ninjago.
LOL.
Well I'll the way I see it, the best types of crossovers are the ones where you don't need to know the individual stories of both franchises to enjoy the crossover.

'Cause I'd just like to say, that if they plan on making a Chima Gen 2, they need to go back and look at the promo they put on the back of the December 2012 Lego Club magazine. Anyone remember it? It was a dark and menacing swamp, and on one end Crocodiles were coming out of the water, with fire swirling around their weapons. On the other end, Laval led a lion charge, their swords crackling with electricity. Shadows were cast over everything, making it hard to tell who was supposed to be the good guy and who was bad. Heck, just based off the picture, I couldn't figure out if the lions were lions or wolves.
It was an EPIC picture that got me super hyped for Chima, and the series failed to live up to that in many ways.
So they need to reboot, total rewrite of the story, overhaul characters, even the concept of Chi needs to be tweaked a bit.

I remember that promo. I also thought the lions were wolves at first.
I disagre about it failing to live up to that, though. The series lived up to, and far exceeded my expectations. I liked the real Chima much better than the original Lego Club Magazine promo.
I think, if Chima G2 was a complete rewrite and reskin, Lego should turn to the original concept art that was released on the website. It was very cool to see what Chima would have been like in a different way. The world in the concept art seemed like an alternate reality for Chima, so I think a reboot based on those concepts could be awesome. [i]

Well, I don't think there would be any harm in reviving this...right?
While I'm not a hardcore Chima fan, I'd still like to share some ideas. I always have fun sharing ideas on the LMB's.
First, I'd like to say that G2 doesn't necessarily need to be a reboot. It can take place in the far future, and all of the animals have grown old and become parents of a new range of heroes. This way, Chima G2 can take place in the same universe, but still tell it's own story.
Second, the story would have an incredibly different tone from the original Chima. If you look at Bionicle G2, that was very specifically aimed towards children, and ended up with terrible fan reception. Because of that, I think it's safe to say that the new Chima should try to appeal to both kids and adults. If it's just for kids, it'll likely end up like the original.
And finally, the story would be more complex. This may not be your opinion, but I think the new story should be focused on revealing secrets behind things like Chi and Mount Cavora that were never explored in the show. Of course, it shouldn't be too complex, but still answer questions that the show didn't.
(Basically, I'm trying to say we never knew why Chi existed or why Mount Cavora rose up into the sky, so Chima G2 should explore deeper into those details.)
Well, anyway, even if none of this comes true, it's still nice to discuss what a possible Chima G2 should look like.
I hope they would bring back Chima as it is and continue where it left off than start everything over again.. It wouldn't be the same.. the characters.. I would cry if they reboot it instead of continuing where it left off...

While Chima and other LEGO themes are primarily meant for children, it would be cool to see it be aimed at both adults and kids. I agree about bout it being a continuation taking place in the same universe as the original. (Also, the reason Chi existed actually was explained, but LEGO could go into more detail about it. )

Yeah, I feel like most of us are starting to want it to be like "Chima: The Next Generation", if you get what I mean.
Ok, so here is my first outline of a theoretical Chima G2.
Year 1 Storyline: First Half of the year (Winter wave of sets: vehicles, buildings, and terrain playsets focused on the good side, one building for the bad side): The story begins many years after the original Legends of Chima theme, in the same continuity. The 8 main characters from the original series are now the kings and queens of their tribes. Mottrot is now the king of the mammoth tribe, after Maula retired. The son of Sibress and Sir Fangar is the king of the sabertooth tigers, and it's the same thing with the leadership of all the other tribes; the next generation of leaders are living peacefully on the floating island of Chima. Other tribes and lands were discovered beneath Chima (this disc-shaped planet below was the REAL Chima), but after many years of exploration, all of the tribes on the planet were at peace, living in harmony both on and beyond the floating Chima Island. A while after the events of Future Of Chima (a stopmotion miniseries I'm going to be maYking on another websiTe), our story begins. There are 12 main characters; the sons and daughters of Eris, Laval, Cragger, Rhogon, Worriz, Razar, Bladvic, Gorzan, Scorm, Braptor, Sir Fangar, and Vardy. (You can choose your own genders and names for each of them.) These 12 characters go out and explore the land of Chima (the real Chima, below the floating island). However, they have 2 more companions with them: Li'ella (having been dumped by Laval years ago when he married a different lioness) and our main spider character, Spitox. Spitox is very antisocial and prefers being alone as opposed to working with a group, so he goes off on his own while exploring, and discovers an ancient artifact hidden in ruins. It is some sort of golden staff with a red crystal on top. When Spitox touches it, he is transformed into mutated, cursed, red and green version of himself. His four non-arm spider legs on his back transform into grotesque blades, the 2 legs he uses to walk are fused together and turned into a snake-like tail, and his head mutates into a long, alien-like face with red slits for eyes and huge, jagged fangs. Spitox immediately thinks about reviving a mysterious spirit from the past, and he becomes a mutant cultist, considering this evil spirit his god. He finds Li'ella, also on her own, and turns her into a cultist as well. The same transformation happens to her, and she sees this as a way to get revenge on Laval for dumping her. The 2 mutated villains find 10 morally grey characters from the realm of Chima (below the island) and transform them into cultists. There are now 12 villains to fight the 12 heroes. While the other cultists try to figure out how to resurrect the evil spirit, Li'ella goes back up to Chima island and tries to destroy Laval. Laval's son arrives just in time and helps his father fight off the evil Li'ella. Laval explains that there is an evil spirit named Kirath (his backstory will be revealed 2nd half of the year) Laval's son and his friends then go back underneath Chima island with their vehicles to stop the mutant cultists from reviving the spirit. Li'ella, Spitox, and the other cultists return to the ruined temple from which the staff came. The team of heroes and team of villains fight, but the heroes win and defeat the cultists. One of the heroes destroys the staff, but in doing so, actually releases the evil spirit of Kirath! (End of the first half of the year)
