Yeah near the end the of the game the WBL members started showing off the items they had quite a bit. Yeah Ninewells wasn't exactly a friendly sort from what I knew.
I know, it was pretty unfair. Those items were supposed to be a bonus for pre-ordering LU from different places, not for being in some stupid club:S. He was friendly to me for a while, but always said how he hated kids and thought they were immature. You were a kid at the time, as were most of us, so I can see why he seemed unfriendly. Ironically he had a kid of his own:S.
Immature essentially defines what kids are. I always heard things but never really met him, kinda wish I did now.
Hollis isn't involved with either DLU or LNA (Hollis's modeling work is far beyond what LNA can do. ) Yeah BUILD went under like a year or two ago, people just weren't able to quite agree on everything from what I heard. As for Machine he was working on DLU for a while though I don't believe he's an active developer right now.
I know, Hollis is amazing at modeling. I have seen some of his latest stuff, it's really cool:). Why doesn't he get involved with LNA if he is good enough to help them*-)? That's too bad, I wish people could just agree and get stuff done:(. I guess it's easier said than done though. Seems like all these LU projects end because users can't agree:|.
LNA really isn't viewed very highly by a large majority of the community (At least the people I know) the work they've shown just seems meh, compared to what BUILD had they've been more of the 'anyone can join' project.
Being a ruthless trader was one of LU's brightest spots IMO. The lack of any form of "galactic" trade market allows for more profitable trading. I never really knew Ninewells well, (He passed away sometime while the game was live I heard) I didn't talk too much to any of the WBL players, except later in the game I got to know HappyPappy. Racing in LU was arguably the area I was worst at, outside of Vertigo Loop I could hardly complete a track.
I know, I think people were just jealous of me TBH:P. I wasn't ruthless at all near the end, I even gave away my briefcase for free:O! I ended up buying one a week later for 300,000, and I linked that one. I never had one linked before as I only got one from a drop and never traded for one. I didn't know what was more important, the cash of the case, so I kept it unlinked. I knew Ninewells too well actually. We had GREAT times, but I also learned a secret from him. Turns out he wasn't really a fan of kids, and that is eventually what led to us blocking each other. He called me too kiddish one day for some reason, forget what, but then he threw some VERY bad words and we never spoke again besides one mail message. I forgave him, but he never forgave me. One time I saw him at Nexus Tower, but he just ran away when he saw me:(. That would make sense considering I never saw him online for the last month or two of LU:(. I didn't like the WBL users mostly, they took advantage of stuff too much. For example, I had my legendary Ref Shirt which I got for pre-ordering Amazon's one copy of LU. All in all, only I had it. Then the WBL users came along getting all these promotional items for free from Mythrans, and one guy always walked around with my Ref Shirt:@! Made me real angry, and ever since then I hated the WBL. Ninewells and Flambridge were exceptions though. They didn't care AT ALL about items, they just liked building and properties. That's all we did, the three of us just chatted and built props for a few months. It was very fun:). It was during that time that the Wells thing happened and me and Flam went to Storm. On Storm I got back into the game a bit, but still mostly just built props with Flam. Me and Flam both got our Jester Hats there:). I remember HappyPappy, but didn't really know him personally. I didn't know any WBL members personally besides Wells and Flam. I found racing pretty easy from the start, and only got better as Murphy trained me and as I practiced:). The Forbidden Valley course was the only one I ever had trouble with.
I loved the racing in LU but never really got into the building.

Nope, considering those team members have all moved on pretty much. Most people wanting a LEGO MMO are looking to DLU now.

That's too bad as I really wanted to help with one of the projects:(. The reason I started C++ was because of Project BUILD. I should have made sure it was still around before starting I guess:S:P.

What are your stories about*-)?
The series that's really mine follows the adventures of Strange Odd Shadow, an intelligent and imaginative minifigure that joins the Nexus Force to fight the Maelstrom just like everyone else. However, he gets into adventures that are not like everyone else's, as he soon finds himself hunted by the Darkitect himself. Once the archiving is over, I will make a topic for this. You may start reading the story in the LMBs, if you like, but the first story is very ill-written and you may want to wait for a rewrite I'm working on.
However, I am also co-writing the MMOS KotOS Series with my fellow Knights of the Olde Speech. They are stories that range from epic to ridiculously, randomly comical. They are placed in the world of Lego Universe, but many of the stories are only slightly related to it, as most events occur on the planet of Militiregnum, a planet stuck in the Dark Ages, where the Knights of the Olde Speech have to defend the kingdom of Morcia (yes, there's Knight's Kingdom, too) from thedude and his Paradox Rogues.
In my current state of mind, it'd be more possible for me to want to make games for the latter series, but don't let me fool you into thinking that this is very possible, at least in the foreseeable future. :tounge:
