What 'simple gadgets'?

Rhotuka blades, acid tipped spears, tri-claws, seismic staves, catcher claws, rhotuka battle axes, twilight blades, herding blades... the list of weapons Xia has or could produce goes on and on. It just seems that something like a "psi-thermal connector" is bit outside the scope of what Xia usually would produce, and is an awfully random thing to bring up in regular conversation.
I don't think they would mass produce psi-thermal connectors just because, but I don't think it's something they wouldn't typically produce, if requested. Also, it wasn't exactly a regular conversation.

Highly unlikely given Emarcee's speedy recovery and how fast he was going. Honestly -- an anticlimactic escape like this undermines Emarcee's modus operandi and makes him look weaker than he actually is

A massive portal suddenly opens right behind Magzus, and something comes flying out at crazy speeds, roaring like a Muaka-Nui and passively slamming into the Toa of Fire, taking him with it. After Magzus returns to his senses, he finds himself pinned to the front grill of a large flying vehicle piloted by another crimson-clad Toa-like being.
"Yeaaaah baby!!"
He notices Magzus.
"Aw, gross!"
Frowning, he activates the vehicle's wipers, which knock repeatedly into the Toa.

Darren looks around at the ever increasing amount of strange and heavily armed beings. He decides it might be wise to leave, as any business here wouldn’t start until all this is over. And that may take a while. And so, he makes his way out, trying not to draw any unwanted attention, like that face in the wall.

The rahkshi form Kaita - Illusion/Chameleon/Silence, Shapeshifting/Heat Vision/Density Control, and Elasticity/Laser Vision/Gravity. The three kaita descend upon the chaos, cloaked to all not mentally shielded.

An illusion and carefully placed Silence washes over the area to make it appear Lokkinci is not being attacked, or defending herself. In reality, she has burnt the elastic kaita to a crisp using light/excessive lack of shadow, and is dueling with a mirror-surfaced hyperdense shapeshifter, which is making full use of it's ability to grow more eyes for use with it's heat vision.
