Cair Andros was a large river-island in the Anduin River, to the east of the land of Anórien and about fifty miles north of Minas Tirith. The island itself was long and narrow, like a ship, a little over ten miles in length. At its northern end, its "prow" of sharp rocks split the waters of the upstream Anduin in a bubbling foam that gave the island its name. Cair Andros was covered with trees for much of its length.
This region borders North Ithilien, Henneth Annun, and Anorien.

The completed trebuchets are anchored in artillery mounts. These mounts allow them to swivel with relative ease. They can be removed from these mounts with some difficulty.
The spotting stations are pretty much a military hunting blind that allow soldiers to gain better information about the enemy. Because of this information, the trebuchets can fire from a concealed area and still have a reasonable amount of accuracy.
