1. We’re guessing you love Ninjago. What is it about Ninjago that you love so much?
How did you know? I actual like multiple things about Ninjago. Even before I found out about Ninjago, I had thought that ninjas seemed cool. Then I saw Ninjago, instant love. I also love the imagination, it’s so cool to see Ninja's fighting skeletons/snakes/stone warriors. Seriously, talk about creative. Cole. Cole. Cole. Cole. The animation is really cool too. I never paid attention to LEGO animations really until Ninjago, I was really impressed by the animated minifigures, it really brought out a new look at LEGO for me.
2. If you could create a brand new ninja to enter the world of Ninjago what type of ninja would you make? What powers would it have?
Oh goodness. This is going to be interesting. Her name would be Thalia, I've liked that name for so long now. Her element would be shadow, meaning she could morph shadows into different objects or animals, she would also be able to practically melt into the shadows, not literally, but she'd be able to move the shadows around her to give her a kind of cloak of darkness. Her weapons would be twin completely black sais. She'd have black hair in a long ponytail. And her Gi would be just a plain dark purple/blue.
3. You are really active in Ninjago Stories. What is your favorite story there? Why?
You're making me choose one? I'd have to pick Heart Attack, by Sissyloo1. I really love it because Sissy has a really good way of describing details, she can also paint a picture of the scenes in your mind, I for one really enjoy that. Another thing, I love it and am infuriated by it at the same time, Sissy has a mean habit of cliffhangers, something that has troubled me greatly, which I have made sure she knows about. It’s more fun than you'd assume.
4. Where do you get inspiration for your writing?
A lot of different sources actually. I like to write outside of the Message Boards too, so not all of my inspiration is relevant to here. But sometimes I get inspiration from a commercial, schoolwork, or even my brother.
5. Are you active in any of the galleries? If so, which ones?
I am not actually, though I may, as soon as I figure out what to build next.
6. If you were president of the LEGO Company for a day what would you do? Why?
O.O That. Would. Be. So. Much...FUN!!!!!! I'd release the New Ninjago sets out early because I absolutely hate waiting and give myself a ton of LEGO sets because then I would have so much more stuff to build.
7. You are rather new to the community. How did you first learn about the LMBs? What made you want to stay and become so active here?
Great, ten months and you're still considered new.=\ Actually, I found the MB's in a weird way. It was January 1st of this year, and I was searching for information on Ninjago (Out of all things ) because I desperately wanted it to come back, I just had to get some sort of confirmation. So, I clicked on one article, and it said something about a website called the LEGO Message Boards, apparently one of the moderators had posted a picture with an announcement about Ninjago coming back. There was a link, and naturally I clicked on it, and it brought me to a specific topic. I instantly made an account and tried to write a post. It got rejected. =\ I stayed around because I saw that a lot of the people there were like me, had the same views. I also saw a subforum called Ninjago Stories. I love stories. So yeah, pretty interesting.
8. What is your favorite book in real life? Why?
I like a lot of books, but since I have to pick one, it would be....The Son of Neptune, by Rick Riordan. I love it because 1. It includes amnesia 2. There is lots of action 3. One word: ROMANS!!!!! 4. I'm really fascinated by Greek and Roman mythology, and this one is all about Roman mythology. 5. CLIFFHANGERS!!!
9. What user(s) has inspired you the most in your time on the LMBs? What did they teach you?
Hmmm, tough question. I'd have to say that Dinosaur2515 has inspired me the most. Even though he is now retired, before hand, he taught me that as a Ninjago fan, I don't have to instantly hate Chima. Yeah, that probably isn't the most important thing in the world, but I still think it’s important.
10. Tell us three cool things about you that we probably don’t already know.
Well, I'm on the Leadership team at my Junior High, we plan a ton of events at our school, and I'm in the Spirit Week Group. I also ski during the winter, I've been skiing since I was 7. And lastly, at a camp I went to, I climbed up a 105 foot tree, and jumped...With a rope attached to me of course.
11. If you had an unlimited supply of LEGO elements what would you build? Why?
First off, I'd finish a school project I'm doing. All out of [LEGO pieces]. Then, I'd go through all the minifigure pieces and make my avatar and a few of my friend's avatars. Then I'd probably make some huge monument to the Message Boards.
12. Do you have any superpowers?
Actually, I do. I can turn invisible to my mom when I wear this black hoodie and have the hood up. Multiple times when I had the hood up and was standing right next to her in a crowd, my mom would look around and ask where I was. Obviously she has great tracking skills.
13. What would you like a future poll to be?
Do you actually talk about LEGO here? A. All the time! B. Most of the time. C. Very little D. Never
14. What LEGO-related question do you have for the next interviewee?
If you could choose any job at LEGO, what would it be? … There, that took only 30 minutes to think up.
15. Question from Bluepeso: If you could meet ANY user in real life from the LMBs, who would you choose?
...I can only pick one!?!? Well, I guess I'd have to say...Sissyloo1. She was my first ever friend here, and we have so much in common, it would be amazing just to say "Hi" to her.
1. We are guessing you love dolphins! Are they your favorite animal? Why?
You would be correct in guessing that! They are my favorite animal, dogs being in second place. I've loved them ever since watching a movie called "Dolphin Tale", and now I have checked out every dolphin book there is at my library. I found my love for them, because they're so smart. Some dolphins have even been trained to work an iPad!
2. You are super active in the Friends Gallery. We love your drawings! How did you first get into drawing? How did you get so good at it?
That's so sweet of you! Well, I drew a lot when I was publicly schooled, then when I became a homeschooler I sort of stopped. I would say my friend gracelw1 rocketed my interests when she posted a tutorial on her drawings, and then I branched into different kinds of drawing after that as well. I got an advanced drawing book as a present, and ever since, my quality of work gets better the more I practice.
3. What is your favorite subject in school? Why?
That's a toughie! I would probably have to say Science, because I am very interested in chemical reactions and other things like minerals. I love seeing what it takes to make something react.
4. What would you do if you were a Mod for a day? Why?
Let's see... I would give you all raises for your awesome modding, and try to moderate all of the posts so fast it would be like IMing.
5. What user(s) has inspired you the most on the LMBs? Why?
Again, this is a tough one! I would say TannerJ2598, because he is so nice, he welcomed me to the Munch Munch Café, as well as some topics in the LEGO Friends Forum. He also makes a good impression on you, telling us all fame is not the important thing, it is being a good user.
6. Congrats on reaching rank Viking! What do you think is the secret to gaining ranks?
Thanks! I honestly have no idea, but I believe you just get likes, give likes, and post, post, post!
7. You seem to be a big fan of LEGO Friends. What about it do you enjoy so much? If you could say one thing to the Friends designers what would it be? Why?
I am a very big fan! I love the story SO MUCH, and Olivia is exactly like me except for the eye color. Also, the sets are so... actually town-based! They have a Café, house, and they're more detailed then some sets in Creator. I also think LEGO Friends provides lots of extras, the song downloads, desktop backgrounds, etc. If I could say something to the designers?! I think I would tell them about my mall idea. There could be a starter pack, with the outdoor court, food court, and a clothing store. There could then be separate sets with other types of stores you could connect to the other stores, creating one big mall!
8. If you could turn yourself into a LEGO Friends character what would you look like? What would your character’s favorite hobby be?
This has got to be the best question you could ever ask me! I would have slightly wavy, long brown hair, with feathered bangs hanging in my face. I would wear a pink tank-top, with dolphins on it, of course. My favorite hobby would be either drawing or computers.
9. If you could change one thing about the LMBs what would it be? Why?
I would have a place to talk to some sort of developer or, somebody who knows about each theme in every forum! Then we could ask them questions about each theme.
10. How long have you been a member of the LMB community? What is your favorite memory from your time here? Why?
I have been here since May 21st, 2013, so I'm about 3 months old here. My favorite memory... probably all my good times with my friends in the LEGO Friends forum, and all the fun chats with my MMC pals. They make me feel very welcome!
11. What is your favorite thing to do when you aren’t on the LMBs? Why?
Play with my LEGO Friends, or draw for the LEGO Friends gallery! Playing with LEGO lets me relax, and I get sort of absorbed into the Friend's world. When I draw, I love designing the different poses and outfits for my friends. My life revolves around LEGO, it seems. But I always have time for my friends and family!
12. Do you have any superpowers?
Superpowers... I am said to have a high tolerance for pain. I was at gymnastics months ago, and was doing a back-hand spring, which is basically a back-flip. I landed it wrong, and broke 2 fingers, but I thought I'd just strained the muscles in my knuckles or something.
13. What would you like a future poll to be?
When did you first join the MB's?
1. A month ago
2. This year
3. Last year
4. It's been too long!
14. What LEGO-related question do you have for the next interviewee?
If you were stuck on a deserted island with only a simple tub of LEGO bricks, what device would you make to help you get home?
15. Question from Nokama1854: “Which posts do you give likes to? Why?”
Let's see, I normally give likes to funny or interesting posts, since that's what keeps the MB's a better place!
1. Congrats on earning Master Reader! How does it feel to be one of the few users to achieve this title?
Thanks! Wait, a few? *Quickly searches Master Reader in the users* Oh…. Well, it really feels great! I love all of the stories that are on here!
2. What is your favorite forum to read? Why?
That’s tough! Hmm, probably Message Boards Stories, since it always has new good stories! (Not saying that the others don’t)
3. What keeps you from posting? Do you think you ever will?
I’m only not posting so I can read the stories. If I was posting too, my head would be spinning around not knowing what to do. But I will post someday, although I don’t know when.
4. What type of posts do you “like”? Why?
Well, the usual. Posts that sound creative, or new chapters for a story, or just saying a nice thing!
5. What was the first LEGO set you ever built? What did you like about it?
Hmm, I don’t really remember what was my first LEGO set. But the oldest set I remember is a Ferrari set that had a racing car, a truck, and a garage. Since I love cars, when I got it, I was like: AWESOME!! A RACING CAR!!
6. Do you read all the time outside the LMBs? What is your favorite book? Why?
Yep, I read too much! Sometimes my parents have to yell in my ear otherwise I just keep on reading. My favorite book? Um… Well, one of my favorite books is the Percy Jackson series. I love myths, so I just got in to it!
7. What is your favorite hobby, besides reading, and why?
Other hobbies? Probably playing soccer and writing. Although I’m not really good in the latter.
8. If you were transformed into a minifig who would you want to become and why?
Hmm, I’d be either the DJ from Series 8, or the Snowboarder Guy from Series 5. They’re both AWESOME!!
9. If you could invent your very own LEGO theme what would it be and why?
I don’t know, maybe realistic birds? I love birds, and it would be cool to see them in LEGO!
10. Tell us three interesting fact about yourself.
Three? That many? I love fishing, I love cats, and I can build LEGO sets very fast. That’s three, right?
11. Have you seen the LEGO Movie? If so, what was your favorite part? If not, what are you most excited to see?
Yes I have! My favorite part is when Unikitty gets angry. Couldn’t stop laughing for some time!
12. Do you have any superpowers?
I can read books very fast. I can finish 2 books in one day!
13. What would you like a future poll to be?
(I don’t know if this one has been done yet) Who is your favorite ninja in Ninjago?
14. What LEGO-related question do you have for the next interviewee?
If you could change the name of the LMBs, what would you change it to?
15. Question from Dwalin22k: What is your favorite LEGO theme?
My favorite theme? … … … … Probably Ninjago, but others are good too!
Interview with LelilaOrganaSolo (Another master reader)
1. Congratulations on reaching the rank Master Reader! That’s a rank very few members of the LMBs have reached. How does it feel?
It feels awesome! At first, I thought that liking 400 posts would take a long time, but it didn't! There are so many good posts and stories that it only took me about 6 days to give 400 likes, and I've barely scratched the surface of all the good posts and stories that are out there.
2. When did you first join our community? What got you interested in reading the LEGO.com Message Boards?
I made this account on June 4, 2013, but I had looked around a little bit on the Message Boards before I made it. I came to the LEGO Message Boards because I wanted to read some Star Wars stories written by fans. When I was glancing around, I saw that there were a lot of good stories on here, so I made this account, started reading and liking, and here I am!
3. What is your favorite topic to read on the LMBs? Why?
Oh dear, favorite usually means one, right? Hmmm... this is going to be very difficult, if even possible. Well, on the Star Wars Stories sub-forum, my two favorite topics/stories are Darkening Star by Waros32 and Stranger in a Foreign Land by Dinoguy7719. Two very close runners up are Lightsabers by Snickers6361 and Star Wars: Dark Order by Wyatt5321, along with the newest story that I have started reading, ~The Day we Met Yoda and Mace Windu~ by Transmunks262.
My two favorite topics/stories outside of the Star Wars Stories Sub-forum are The Story of Narina by AravisofNarnia and ~The Spamriders~ by MJLaubacher.
I like all of these topics because they are really great stories that I enjoy reading. If any of you guys get a chance and want to read a good story, I would recommend reading one of these.
4. Do you always enjoy reading (likes books, magazines, comics, etc) or are you just an enthusiastic reader on the LMBs?
Yes! I love to read in real life as well as on the Message Boards. Reading and writing are two of my favorite things to do. If I'm not reading stories, I'm usually writing them.
5. What is your favorite book of all time? Why?
Oh dear, there's that word favorite again. Well, I really like the Star Wars Expanded Universe books, especially the Thrawn Trilogy, along with the Guardians of Ga'hoole series. I think the reason that I like those book series is that they're full of adventure, and in both cases, things that fly (The Guardians of Ga'hoole series is about a bunch of owls, and the Star Wars books have a lot of space ships) I also like the Chronicles of Narnia, The Hobbit, and the Hardy Boys. (I also read Nancy Drew, but I prefer the Hardy Boys)
6. Are you a LEGO builder in real life? If so, what kind of things do you like to build?
I am a LEGO builder in real life, although most of the LEGO bricks in the house belong to my brother. I am thinking of collecting some LEGO myself though.
I like to build mostly houses, forts, bases, and some cities. I'm not very good at building trucks or spaceships, but I have built a couple pretty cool ones.
7. Do you visit any of the LEGO.com galleries? If so, which ones?
No, but I might check them out sometime. It would be cool to see other user's creations, or maybe even share some of my own eventually.
8. What kind of posts do you give “likes” to? Why?
I usually "like" well-written and interesting stories and story chapters, quality posts that state something that I agree with, or funny posts that make me laugh. I also "like" posts that give a thorough and understandable answer to another user's question, as well as posts where other users say "hi" to me or congratulate me, to let them know that I saw their post.
9. You have given more “likes” to Waros32 than to any other user. What do you enjoy so much about Waros’ posts?
His totally amazing story! Darkening Star is one of my favorite stories on the Message Boards. I like how Waros, the main character in the story, is slowly turning away from the Dark Side, which he was taught by his former Master. I'm always watching for new chapters. Keep up the epic chapters, Waros!
10. From your username and reading history it seems like you really like Star Wars. Are you a really big Star Wars fan in real life? What is your favorite thing about Star Wars?
Yes, I love Star Wars! My brothers and I watched the movies last summer for the first time and have been loving Star Wars ever since. In the last year we have seen all of the Clone Wars show except for a couple of episodes in season 4 and the Clone Wars movie. I'm also working on reading the Star Wars Expanded Universe books. I've read about 10 of them so far.
My favorite thing about Star Wars is probably the Jedi. I mean, they're just so cool, running around the galaxy with their Force-enhanced abilities and their glowing lightsabers. If I were born in the Star Wars universe, I would totally want to be a Jedi.
I am also a very big Ahsoka fan! I'm probably her #1 fan, or at least in the top 10. I have a 3.75 inch Ahsoka action figure (in her season three outfit!) which I am extremely fond of. I have had her over half a year and I still carry her around in my purse wherever I go. So if I'm not her #1 fan, I'm probably at least her weirdest fan.
11. Have you ever thought about posting? What has stopped you from doing so?
Yes! I really want to post and get to know all of the amazing users on the Message Boards, and get to use emotes and make my own sig! I also want to join all of the other fans on the story topics and add my "Moar's", because right now my desperate "Moar's" are not heard. Someday I might even post the Star Wars story that I have been writing, but I'm not sure.
The thing that has kept me from posting this long is that I want to discover the next reader rank that everyone is talking about, although I hope that I discover it soon, because I'm anxious to start posting.
12. If you could be any LEGO minifigure who would you be? Why?
Well, I would probably be the Ahsoka minifigure from the Umbaran MHC, because I like Ahsoka. But if we're talking about the minifigure series, I would probably pick the Roller Derby Girl, because I like to roller skate.
13. Do you have any superpowers?
Well, I'm extremely crazy, if that counts . And the fact that the 5 to 10 songs that I know on the piano I learned from watching tutorials on You-Tube, and I am very good at drawing very weird-looking dudes. That's about all that I can think of.
14. What would you like a future poll to be?
I think a cool future poll would be:
Your Favorite Section of Star Wars.
*The Original Trilogy
*The Prequel Trilogy
*The Clone Wars
*Expanded Universe
15. What LEGO-related question do you have for the next interviewee?
Well, my question would be "If you could build anything out of LEGO, and you had all the bricks in the world, what would you build?"
16. Question from AravisofNarnia: Do you have an organized system of keeping your LEGO tidy? If so, what?
Most of the LEGO in the house belong to my brother, BrickBuildr132, but I do help him organize them. He sorts them by color, and keeps them in bins and trays that pull out of a cabinet. It works pretty well, except when the piece that you're looking for is on his Lego table(2,160 sq. inches of table covered in LEGO!) ...
1. You have a very unique username? What inspired it?
I live in a Motorhome and its sort of completely massive. And somebody gave it the nickname battletruckgalactica, which I thought was an epic name. So when the first Username I choose was taken I thought that was the best alternative.
2. Congratulations on reaching Inventor on the old boards and Royal Guard on the new boards. What do you think is the secret to gaining ranks? How important is ranking up to you?
Thank-you. Umm, I don't really think there's any "secret" to ranking up, just being active and posting will get you there. Ranks aren't that big of a deal to me, I'm here to post with all of my awesome friends (You all know who you are. ), read some Ninjago fan fictions and find out the latest on all of the different theme's.
3. For the most part you only post in the Asylum Roleplay topic. What keeps you from posting in more topics and forums?
That kind of makes me sound like a hermit. Well the Asylum is quite a fast paced topic so I find it hard to fit in all the topics I would like to post in and keep up there. I have been on the boards for almost 2 years, so maybe it's an old age thing.
4. Do you have any LMBs goals for 2014? What are they?
I don't really have any set goals, but I would like to find more time to read new stories and catch up on old ones (Purple Alligator Island by GideonF210, Around The Boards in 80 Days: The Tale of an LMB Lifetime by LegoCritter35, Hunted Outcasts by Coson13, and Revenge of the Hacker ~ A Message Board Story by Eowyns_biggest_fan just to name a few of the totally epic ones you must read if you haven't already. )
5. You are a big Ninjago fan. What is your favorite thing about the ninjas?
Favourite thing um ... its kind of just the fact they are ninjas. Like, how cool is that? Yeah I don't really have one particular favourite. Its all epic. XD
6. Tell us three interesting facts we don’t know about you.
Ooo, one is I really love artsy-crafty-creative fangirl projects. I've done stencil art Batman/Joker shoes, Luna Lovegood dirigible plum earrings, Harley Quinn cupcakes, made my own Harry Potter wand and at the moment I'm in the process of making my own Ninjago inspired t-shirt! Another is I am really into anything and everything Steampunk. I'm also an obsessive collector of notebooks. I have at least 45, most of them have nothing written in them.
7. How did you first learn about the LMBs? What made you want to join? What made you want to come back again and again?
I was trying to find out when the next season on Ninjago was coming out and what it was about and I ended up in the Ninjago Forum. I think one of the first topics I read was the "Ask Jay" topic by Thegreenninja10, I signed up because I wanted to ask some questions and spent about my first month on the MB's there bugging him. Sorry about that.
8. What career do you hope to have when you are older? Why did you choose that job? If you could have any job at the LEGO Company what job would it be and why?
My ambition is definitely to be a successful author, I love writing and I think that being able to make a career out of something I love would be just so epic. XD If I worked for LEGO, I would want to be a designer for the collectable Minifigure line. Creating all the characters and being so imaginative with who they are, what designs to put on their torso's, how should their hair look and what accessory to put with each one would be so much fun.
9. If you could change one thing about the LMBs what would it be and why?
I would scrap the likes limit. I am quite generous with my liking and find it rather irritating whenever I go to like the next chapter of a story or an awesome roleplay move or just a funny post and one of those limits pop up. >.<
10. What achievement are you most proud of from your time on the LMBs? What personal achievement are you most proud of? Why?
Getting Maniac. Of course the update had already been long before I got it, but it was such a high rank back on the Old Boards. So getting it and remembering what an achievement it was back then (And possibly still is now. ) was just so cool.
11. If you were president of the LEGO Company for a day what would you do? Why?
I would get rid of the Simpsons theme. Just my personal view on the show and making it into LEGO... And I would also see if I could get my hands on some of the older sets that I don't have. Its just to good an opportunity to miss.
12. Do you have any superpowers?
Here on the MB's I can defy gravity by walking up walls and upside down on the ceiling and I also have the useful skill of being able to drive my battle truck up to three times the speed of light. IRL, I can talk super fast ... like really fast. You can't tell half of what I'm saying. That's a superpower right?
13. What would you like a future poll to be?
What is your favourite scale to build in? Micro scale, Minifig Scale or Life Size?
14. What LEGO-related question do you have for the next interviewee?
If you got the chance to create one LEGO element, what would it be and why?
15. Question from miwings: "If you had a million LEGO bricks, what would you build?"
The biggest micro scale Steampunk town ever!!!!!!!! Complete with motorised air ships! XD
Side note: Sorry for the inconvenience of the last questions being not in chronological order, I am posting these from back to front to insure that all the interviews are quicly uploaded incase the boards were to soon go down.
Interview with Botven1 and Gracelw1 (same rank brother sister siblings) Words from Wa: Botven1 and Gracelw1 are a well known brother-sister duo here on the LMBs. We were lucky to catch up with them recently for an awesome double interview
1. Which one of you was the first to develop a passion for LEGO? When did the other join in the fun?
Botven1: Well, we were both kind of into LEGO from an early age, and then we started living in a caravan, so LEGO building was out of the question. I guess we went out of it for a while, then we started getting those mini boxes that they used to sell, and that got the craze back again. We haven't stopped since.
Gracelw1: I reckon it was Botven first, he got really into Mars Mission, but when I was really young, I liked Bellville (Please don't sneer, it was great for younger girls.).
2. How did you find out about the LMBs? When did you each start posting?
Botven1: I found out about it first. Don't you say otherwise, sis! At first I didn't know whether or not it was.. you know.. safe or not. But then I got really into it and started posting in MLN bands a lot. I remember when... -Goes off into a long reminiscence that takes up the whole page. -
Gracelw1: I found out about the LMBs through MLN, which I really enjoyed and still do, even though I don't really go on it anymore. My first post was an MLN sticker competition, which-ahem!-nobody answered to. But I'm so glad I found out about the Boards! The LMBs have always been a really fun place to chat, and I have some really special friends on here.
3. How does it feel to be a brother/sister duo on the LMBs? Do you “hang out” with LEGOCritter and GideonF on the message boards?
Botven1: Ummm, it's interesting... We're like the comedy duo wherever we go, like Laurel and Hardy, or C3po and R2. We just muck about like we do in real life, pretending to really get on each other's nerves. But deep down we're good friends. Ain't that right, sis? And about LC and GF... Not too sure who GF is, actually. I know LC, though.
Gracelw1: Its great! I love looking back at old posts and finding all the silly things we talk about. I know LEGOCritter and GideonF, and I'm so glad that they were interviewed! LEGOCritter is an amazing storywriter too, I always read her Zoo story and look forward to new chapters.
4. You are active in the Friends forum. What is it about Friends that you like so much?
Gracelw1: I love Friends because.........its just so great. I love the fact that its more tomboyish, and that LEGO has a theme for girls! I really feel terrible when people say negative things about it, especially since people never seem to know what they are talking about. I.e. not researching the theme properly before making hate topics about it.
5. You do a bit of everything on the LMBs (post, roleplay, read stories). What is your favorite thing to do on the message boards? Why?
Botven1: My favorite thing to do on the MB's is to log in every day and see that Skul has remained at the top liked, because he is the embodiment of epicsauce. AAAAH! his ego is getting to even me! JK, probably it's having fun with friends like TannerJ, Cookieyourface and LQ1998.
6. You have a really unique sig (The Artee Goblin-girl of Picklyness). What does it mean?
Gracelw1: I've been really influenced by my friends at ROTLB HQ in the City Roleplay forum. IndianaBonesSulfrix9, Zapty, especially TannerJ2598, who sort of gave me the idea for my signature. I said 'Artee' because, well, I'm arty. But I have no idea why I put 'Goblin-girl' in there! Maybe because I like to be a little strange..... And the 'Picklyness' is because I am an utter fan of pickles!
7. You are really active in the topic “MB Grammar Freak: A Show Like No Other.” Are you really obsessed with grammar? What inspires you to write such funny things?
Botven1: REALLY ACTIVE? You gotta be kidding me, right? JK, Actually, I only punched up my punctuation and smartened up my spelling because I was writing a book on the Star Wars gallery.
Gracelw1: No, you only did it because I came along.
Botven1: Hermm, Anyway, I'm not overlee obsessed wiv grama , as you can see by the title of the topic; I misspelled "grammar" with "grammer." As for funny things... I owe a lot of inspiration to ihuntress, the master of randomness and creator of the Bionicle comedy central.
8. What is the coolest thing about Botven that we may not know?
Gracelw1: Erm....he's a talented Poet! JK, no, er.....He's actually amazing at Martial Arts! He never took lessons, but he seems to be really great at it, and he's incredibly stealthy. Oh, and he has a seriously worrying addiction to TUC, a brand of crackers that you get near us.
Botven1: I only pretend to look good, it's just a couple of moves I've learnt off a library book!
9. What is the nicest thing about Gracelw that we may not know?
Botven1:Umm... Probably her dry sense of humour. In real life, our characteristics are swapped: I'm the nutty one and she's the eye-rolling one. But she's a really fun sister.
10. What are your dream jobs? Any aspirations to become LEGO designers, Master Builders, or Mods?
Botven1: As anyone who read last weeks poll will know, I hope to be a LEGO Moderator when I'm older, as that means I can work at home (Where I live is the best place in the world ). WHEN I don't get the job , I will probably follow through with some plans of an MMORPG that I've been designing. All you MBers will get free codes for it, don't you worry.
Gracelw1: It may be obvious from my creations on the LEGO Friends gallery and LEGO Creation Lab, but I'm going to be an artist when I'm older. But working for LEGO would be fun, that used to be my dream occupation, before I discovered art. I really like drawing LEGO characters, though, so maybe I can combine the two somehow!!
11. What do your parents and friends think about your shared LEGO passion?
Botven1: My parents love the idea of us talking to LEGO fanatics like us over the internet. We're quite lucky really, as some people's parents aren't so understanding. Out of our many siblings , bonrw1 goes on most with us, and he's a really great user too. Friends? Well, they like it because they're on the MB's too.
Gracelw1: Our parents are really great, sweet and nice. We can't really remember a birthday where we haven't received a LEGO set! Our siblings are really into LEGO too, bonrw1 and haystak1 especially. And our friends.....well, our friends are on the LEGO Message Boards!
12. Do you have any superpowers?
Botven1: Yup. I have the power of toungey-smiley spinjitzu. JK, Umm, I actually have an incredible amount of control over my mind, allowing for things like zoom vision and mental stealth-shield. It's true!
Gracelw1: Yep, I can knock out about five drawings, fully coloured, in five seconds! JK Uh.....I can fly! JK Super Powers....Well, I love sword-fighting, and I feel really fiery when I practice, if that counts as a Super Power.
13. What would you like a future poll to be?
Botven1: Hmm, futur poll ... Is that how "future" is spelt?
Gracelw1: Future is spelt "future." Erm.....I would like the next poll to be "Which LEGO Friend is your favourite?"
Botven1: You're mad! This is meant to be for both of us! How about... What's the best LEGO theme in the world? Bionicle, Bionicle or Bionicle?
Gracelw1: Isn't this meant to be from both of us?
Botven1: We are on camera, you know. How about... (Three hours later)
Both: What's your favourite discontinued LEGO theme? Bionicle, Agents, Mars Mission or Clickits?
Botven1: Clickits????
14. What LEGO-related question do you have for the next interviewee?
Botven1: When you saw the email come up, did you think you were in trouble again?
Gracelw1: If you could invent your own LEGO theme, what would it be?
15. Question from Pacman87: what would you do if LEGO pieces invaded Earth?
Botven1: I would show them my huge LEGO collection, proving I'm a friend and get crowned the LEGO king.
Gracelw1: Ask the pieces if I could build myself a jazzy art studio out of them.
Botven1: Random tribute to Ryo-757, who I owe everything on the MB's to.
1. You are pretty new to our community. Welcome! How did you first learn about the LMBs? What made you join?
I learned about the LMBs because my brother, Megakid1999 told me about it. Then I checked it out and found out the LMBs are really cool. It is fun to talk with other LEGO fans.
2. What a cool avatar! Why did you choose a blue ninja?
I chose the blue ninja because I have the minifigure. It would be really cool if we could choose the hair we wanted without waiting for it to pop up. I would create my own avatar.
3. You are super active in Superheroes. What is it about the Superheroes forums that you like so much?
I've always liked superheroes. I like their movies. They save the world. When I found out they had their own place on the LMBs, I was really excited.
4. If you could be any superhero who would you be and why?
Captain America. He is my favorite superhero. He is just such a great guy!! You can't help but like him. He does good for the sake of good.
5. If you could be any super villain who would you be and why?
Loki for sure. He is my favorite super villain ever. It is so cool how he can be so calm and yet so evil.
6. What has been the most exciting thing you’ve experienced so far on the LMBs? Why?
Getting to participate in this interview. Other than that, joining Loki's army and Loki's official fan page. Because it's fun being a part of two things having to do with my favorite bad guy.
7. What is your favorite subject in school? Why? What is your least favorite and why?
Science. I'm home schooled so I get to read about horses for science right now! My least favorite is Language. It takes forever to get done.
8. Answer quickly! Do you root for the good guys or bad guys? Why?
Good guys! Sometimes I like bad guys but it's not like "I hope Loki takes over the earth." Good guys are just good guys!
9. If you could hang out with any LEGO minifigure who would it be and why? What would you do together?
I don't have a favorite LEGO person but I do have two favorite people that I made--Ralph & James. We would walk through my LEGO town. I have a whole LEGO town set up on my bedroom floor.
10. What would you do if you were a Mod for a day? Why?
I would make it so you would be able to add font colors and emotes to signatures. So signatures can be more creative.
11. Tell us three interesting facts about you that we don’t already know.
I raise a calf every year. I am horse crazy and I really don't like Simpsons.
12. Do you have any superpowers?
My mom says I pick up on things--the word she uses is perceptive. Perceptive about what is going on with others.
13. What would you like a future poll to be?
Okay....here's the question----Do you like building with your LEGO pieces or being on LEGO.com?
14. What LEGO-related question do you have for the next interviewee?
What is the coolest LEGO model you have ever built?
15. Question from sheklord: How long of you been playing with your LEGO [pieces]?
About 7 years. Pretty much ever since I learned how the bricks fit together. I started with a tiny house. Now I have a whole town. 50% I built and made myself. I have even more LEGO pieces in containers.
1. Your avatar is pretty fancy. Is he dressed for a special occasion?
I used the default avatar for quite some time, when I decided to change it, i thought about what id like to present myself as. milbro0813 had recently called me a gentleman and i liked the sound of that so i gave my avatar a formal look to appear cool and professional. This was back when I was "ninwii3ds", more on that later in the interview.
2. Congrats on earning rank Minotaur! How does it feel being part human and part bull? If you could be any mythical creature what would it be and why?
How does it feel being part human, part bull? took some time getting used to, I`ll say that much. If I could be any mythical creature, I`d probably be a dragon. They`re big, powerful, can fly and breathe fire. They`re ready for just about anything and they look awesome. I`ve always liked dragons.
3. How did you first come to join the LMBs? What made you want to stay and become so active?
It`s a long story, but I discovered the LMB`s about a year ago when i was looking for info on LEGO Universe (still closed sadly) and saw a topic on the then unreleased Xbox ONE. There was a lot of misinformation in that topic so i revived an old account of mine "ninwii3ds" to clear up any misinformation and make sure the great "what`s with the siding to nintendo" feud remained fair and factual. I eventually offered advice in different boards and became sort of a tech support person, bringing knowledge to the masses . Eventually I migrated to a new account with an original name to appear more neutral in the video games forum as I was often assumed to only like Nintendo, which caused some friction between me and batmanthedarkknight0 among others. We became good friends later, don`t worry,
4. You post a lot in the Video Games forum. Are you a big gamer? What is your favorite LEGO video game and why?
Yeah, I`m very passionate about gaming and technology so it makes sense to spend a lot of time in the Video Games forum. Being primarily a PC gamer, I offer a lot of advice ranging from PC shopping advice to evaluating how well existing computers can run LEGO Games. My favorite LEGO Game of all time is LEGO Racers from 1999. It was a kart racer where you could build your own car and challenge other racers to win their car sets. It also had what i consider to be the greatest LEGO character of all time, Rocket Racer. I still play that game to this day.
5. If you could tell the LEGO video games team one thing what would it be and why?
I would ask them to experiment with different game genres, specifically racing. Travelers Tales current LEGO genre feels a bit stale after all these years and considering the team has made many different games and genres before they became exclusively a LEGO game developer, there`s no reason they can`t experiment with a racing game for example. I`m still hoping for LEGO Racers 3.
6. If you could create your dream LEGO video game what would it be like?
LEGO Racers 3 no doubt, I`d make an open world racer where you build your own car and drive around the world of LEGO to win new parts and challenge Rocket Racer again. I`ve wanted to see that for a long time.
7. You seem to answer a lot of technical questions posed by other users. How did you gain so much technical knowledge? Are you a big fan of computers and technology in general?
Yes, I`m a huge techie. I`m writing this interview on a Linux E-mail client and sending it from my own server. I`ve handled computers since I was 3 years old. My grandfather was an engineer and sparked my interest in technology. I first surfed the web using my grandpa`s computer in 2001 and LEGO.com was one of the first sites i ever visited, the site wasn`t all that great back then, but everything needs to start somewhere. I guess when you spend as much time using computers as i do, you get sort of a sixth sense as to how to solve problems and if i don`t know how, i`l know where to find the information i want (Remember that for later in this interview).
8. What career do you hope to pursue when you are older? Why?
That`s pretty self-explanatory when you look at the last question.
I`m of course pursuing a career in technology, that`s easily the career for me.
I`d like to come up with IT solutions to help people use technology better.
I see a lot of unexplored opportunities when it comes to the ways we use technology and i`d love to realize some of them one day.
9. If you could have any LEGO set ever made what would it be and why?
I`ve always admired complex LEGO sets with attention to engineering detail and the 8674 Ferrari F1 car fits the bill perfectly. A 1:8 replica of a Ferrari F1 car, how can you not want that. Sure it was like 300$, but that kind of detail is pretty much unmatched by any LEGO set today. I remember the father of old friend of mine had a set like that which he proudly showed off. I`ve wanted one of them ever since.
10. What is your favorite book? Favorite movie? Favorite band? Favorite food? Why?
Never been a fan of movies, bands or books (i prefer reading digitally), but there is one book that I hold closer to me called "Nobody's Boy". it was passed down to me from my great grandfather who received it as a Christmas gift from his sister in the 1930`s and thus It`s very valuable to me. It features a boy who goes through a lot of tragic events before finally finding a home.
11. If you could travel to any fictitious place where would you go and why?
I do remember admiring the Drome from the 2002-2004 LEGO Racers subtheme called "Drome Racers". It was this 146 km diameter dome filled with 540km of race tracks set in the year 2015. When I played the Drome Racers game, you could drive through the cities of the Drome and I remember thinking to myself "I wish i could explore these cities freely". The futuristic style of the game really resonated with me and i expected the world to look like that in 2015. My predictions didn`t really turn true, but hey it was fun to imagine.
12. If you had an unlimited supply of LEGO pieces what would you build and why?
Once again, above answer pretty much says it all. I`d recreate the Drome.
It would be probably as big as my yard, but I`d love to see a miniature version of the Drome, It`s been a childhood dream of mine. They should have something like that in LEGOland, I`d go there in an instant if they had that.
13. Do you have any superpowers?
If finding information counts, which you mods probably know enough about, then yes. I did after all correctly predict Rank 21 and 22 all the way back in 2013, I was also the first user to find and like an image on the LMB`s (see Talk to the mods page 963) and found your super secret mod base. Rank 23 will be Pilot in case anybody will be asking.
14. What LEGO-related question do you have for the next interviewee?
What do you consider to be the best LEGO Theme to date?
15. Question from Diglett809: If you could have won ANY LEGO contest ever, which one would it be and why?
Probably the World Robot Olympiad where you build LEGO Mindstorms Robots to complete specific tasks. That sounds like something for me.
1. You are active in a few different roleplays. How did you first start roleplaying? What is your favorite thing about it?
To start off this history study, I first started Roleplaying about 2 months ago, in the Galaxy Squad Roleplay. I wanted to expand my LMB horizons, and RPing was perfect! I made probably dozens of new friends there! And that is definitely the best part about Roleplaying. If you ever want something fun and engaging to do, and want to make good quality friends, Roleplaying is the way to go!
2. When did you first become a LEGO fan? How did it happen?
I was first introduced to the awesome world of LEGO back when I was about 4 or 5, with some Creator-style sets. Then, my collection slowly grew. When I was around 10 or so, I got my first subscription to LEGO Magazine, which cemented my foundation in the LEGO themes universe. Then, sometime after, I got my LEGO ID! At first, I used it only for games. I’m not sure how it happened exactly, but shortly later I got onto the LMBs, and it all took off from there!
3. What is your favorite LEGO theme? Why?
Unity, Duty, Destiny! BIONICLE is definitely my all-time favorite theme, because of all the awesome characters, powers, and everything else! I was first introduced to it by my real-life friend Crossbow9568. Then, after reading most of the book series, I was hooked! (I unfortunately missed the actual phenomenon of BIONICLE; I was only introduced to it after it ended. )
4. What is one thing the LMBs users don’t know about you that you wish they did?
Well, here’s a whole list.
A. I am a Homeschooler.
B. I love to build sci-fi LEGO models, such as bases, starships, and even a few Space Garbage Trucks.
C. That I, unlike others, do NOT have a life outside of the LMBs.
D. I love LEGO bricks to the core; according to a set inventory of mine, I am currently in possession of approximately 21,500 pieces, with over 120 sets, and over 220 minifigs.
5. What plans do you have for the future? What kind of job do you think you’d like to have?
Future? Wow, toughie. Currently, I want to be either an inventor or LEGO model designer, and I’m not just saying that to impress you either. I seriously LOVE making inventions and new things. Just ask anyone I know, they’ll tell you.
6. What would you do if you met a Mod in real life?
Scream, and ask them if I can borrow their account for a day.
7. What user (or users) have really inspired you on the LMBs? Why?
Well, I would say that some inspiration has come from my best LMB friend, Fastcar700. He is an awesome user, and a good friend as well! Another user I’d like to call out is the retired Skulduggery773. He was my lifeline when I started Roleplaying, and I think I have based some of my LMB personality off of him.
8. Congrats on reaching Highland Battler. What advice can you give to users hoping to increase their rank?
Well, thanks! The classic piece of advice to give to users is make friends, don’t spam, and be as kind and funny as possible. This certainly is the Key to Having Fun here. However, I’d like to add another section to this advice: Don’t continue the argument. In Roleplays, this is especially true. It applies to regular posting as well. If you’re arguing with another user about something, don’t let it get past 3 posts. It’s not wrong to tell someone if they did something wrong, but arguments can last for pages and pages of topics, and it’s not pretty.
9. What is your favorite thing about the LMB community? Why?
I would have to say the ability to talk to other LEGO-loving fans. Where I live, there are very few SFOLs, or Super Fans of LEGO. However, every time I click that link to the Messageboards, there’s a whole community of SFOLs out there to talk and chat with!
10. What is the funniest thing you have experienced on the LMBs so far? Why was it so funny?
Jamjar20 fills all of the above. He is a user that once received the Funniest User on the LMBs Award, created and awarded by me. He has only made one serious post that I can know of, which was funny in its own way.
11. If you could be any LEGO minifigure who would you be? Why?
Whoa, that’s difficult. If you mean real-life plastic minifigs, I would be Jedi Grand Master Yoda. Then I would turn into a Sith and rule the galaxy! Muahaha! If I could choose a virtual character, like from LEGO Universe, I’d be Epsilon Starcracker. Then I would totally make myself a gigantic, sci-fi castle. With a mech. And a spaceship.
12. Do you have any superpowers?
No. Unless you count my ability to get out of bed at 4:30 in the morning just to keep on top of things, or my ability to post in my sleep, then yes. Those are super powers, right?
13. What would you like a future poll to be?
Who is your favorite Toa/Makuta?
14. What LEGO-related question do you have for the next interviewee?
What is your favorite kind of LEGO model to build? Like spaceships, castles, cars, planes, etc.?
15. Question from LEGOtheterrible: If you found a Mystery Minifigure Series 1 package at your local store would you purchased it and why?
Well, if I had the money required then yes! Personally, I am no Minifigures super-fan. But I still like to collect them, and as I don't yet have any Series 1, I would snap it right up!
1. You just had your 7 year anniversary on the LMBs. Congrats! How does it feel?
It's awesome! Seven years is a long time. I have so many memories of MLN/City Bands and the LEGO News Forum and the MB/CC Forum.
I feel pretty old. I'm probably like, what, the fourth oldest active on the LMBs now? Third? Anyway, it's pretty awesome! I actually got a lot of people to congratulate me on my anniversary! (And I got 70+ likes on my anniversary topic!)
2. What has been the biggest change over the last 7 years? How did that change impact you? What has been the biggest change over the last 7 years? How did that change impact you?
Well, the biggest change has obviously been the 2012 Redesign.
With the update, I could not access the new website on my main computer, so I was relegated to the slow computer in my bedroom. This changed the way I felt about the LMBs. I wasn't nearly as enthusiastic about this place as I was in the past. Then, I got my iPad for Christmas 2013. I then got really active because I finally had a quick way of surfing the LMBs! I pretty much only get on the LMBs with my iPad now.
3. What is your all-time favorite memory from your time on the LMBs? What was your trickiest experience here?
I can't pick a single memory, but in general, I think I have the best memories in MLN Bands.
So, basically, Kit-Fisto7 (search him up in the search bar) started MyLEGONetwork Bands about 4-6 years ago in the MLN forum. His band (which was the first MLN Band) was called the Brick Boys (a spinoff of the NewsBoys). He got other users to join in his band, and together they configured their soundtrack modules on MyLEGONetwork to their own styles. Eventually other bands were created by other people. Bands would compete in events they called BOBs (Battle of Bands) where they would get a judge to listen to the soundtrack modules of the members of one of the bands and the soundtrack modules of the members of the other band. The judge would decide which band had the best soundtracks as a whole and crown that band "winner" of the BOB.
(Don't ask me how I remember all of this. )
Around the same time, in the LEGO News Forum, Kit-Fisto7 had also created the first LEGO Lyric Contest. (Which I won, by the way, in case you wanted to know. "Held On" was my song's name; one day I'll post it for you all to see. )
(BackGroundInfo: Back in the day, we had lots of contests, like joke contests and story contests. General contests [that did not pertain to a certain theme] were placed in the LEGO News Forum for some reason. So, naturally, Kit-Fisto7 made his Lyric Contest topic in the LEGO News Forum.)
Eventually, someone got the brilliant idea of merging the Lyric part of the MB Music Industry with the Band part to create the new ultimate MLN Band. MLN Bands became solely based on Lyrics and not on MLN Soundtrack modules. Although these new bands had nothing to do with MyLEGONetwork, the name stayed "MLN Bands."
In the new MLN Bands (second-generation) users would create bands and get other users to join them, just like before. Now, however, the members of the band would create Lyrics and list the Lyrics to form albums. Eventually, Masterofthemetal11 (arguably the biggest second-gen MLN Band user in history) started the first open Record Company, and then albums had to (or were supposed to ) go through one of the many Record Companies, whichever one a Band was signed on to. Then, MLN Bands would go around the LEGO Message Boards performing at concerts. They would visit cafés on specific dates and post their Lyrics there (after asking for permission in advance, of course). When there were Mod Parties, Bands would oftentimes perform there to. So, MLN Bands was no longer a competition. No BOBs, but instead you had concerts.
(You're almost there!!!!!!!! )
I played my biggest role in this generation of MLN Bands. I was part of Further|nvestigationRequired (started by LEGOStudios34, search him up) and Brick-it! (started by captainBrickmaster, who just reappeared, search him up). I never started my own band but was members of these. I won three (or maybe four) Lyric Contests and I also started the infamous MLN Music and Bands Society (which I'll have to talk about a other day ). I had some of my best memories in MLN Bands.
(Diglett, captainBrickmaster, and I are trying to get MLN Bands started back up again in the City forum. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Join our Band or join someone else's band (or you can create your own band but honestly you would be better off joining an existing band). Go to City Roleplay and look for a City Bands topic. Join a band!)
Trickiest experience?? Uh, maybe when I was in charge if the LEGO News Station Advanced in the LEGO News Forum and wanted to slowly retire and didn't know how to do so...
4. You have a very interesting username. What does it mean?
... You really want to know?
Cr was the nickname given to me as a kid. I just learned a few months ago actually that it stands for Crooner, a word which most of you probably don't know, so pull out your virtual dictionary.
The "9" represents my age at that time I created my account.
Secrets revealed.
5. You almost always post exclusively in Community Chat. What is it that makes you so passionate about Community Chat? Why not also post in other forums?
The Message Boards/Community Chat forum is a great place to learn about other users and meet people. Because it is also the most popular forum and has lots of chatrooms, it's also a good place to get likes (not that I really care ). I have always posted on the MB/CC forum and some of the coolest stuff has happened here. It's a great forum.
I occasionally post in the Star Wars and LEGO News Forums. I will start actively posting in the City Roleplay forum if City Bands works out.
And, of course, I use to post actively in the CDS (Car Debating Society) in the Racers/Classics Forum (and in the City forum for the short time it was there). That was one of the reasons I continued to get on here. The Mods deleted it a little bit ago.
6. You are in the top 50 most “liked” users of all time. Congrats! What is your secret to being so “likeable”?
I have one of the worst post to like ratios: 35k to 6k. So, compared to my post count, my likes count seems pretty unimpressive. But most of my likes have come in the last seven months, since before then I wasn't too active on these new Boards because of school. (And virtually all of my likes have come from the MB/CC forum, by the way.)
I think the fact that I post a lot on the MB forum is the reason why I have the little bit of likes I do. Specifically, when I started posting in Brickbook, I started moving up the leaderboards (mostly thanks to Skullduggery773 ). I don't care too much about likes but it is nice to see someone thinks your post was well thought-out and/or funny.
7. You are a Legend of Olde. Earning Legend on the old ranks was an amazing accomplishment. Congrats! What was the moment like when you first learned you had reached Legend? What rank are you most looking forward to in the current ranks? Why?
Apparently, I cried.
Anyway, Legend was pretty awesome. I was the 7th /\/\aniac (12,033 posts) and the 9th Legend (24,065 posts). I achieved /\/\aniac in early 2011 and Legend on February 22, 2012. It was cool because I had achieved the top rank on the MBs, something only eight people had done before me!
8. If you could hang out with one historical figure (living or dead) who would it be and why? If you could hang out with one fictitious character who would it be and why?
Jesus (living). Even though I already hang out with him. Why? Because he's awesome.
Fictious? Uh, IDK, maybe Yoda?
9. What advice can you give to newer users hoping to have a long, awesome stay here in the LMB community just like you?
STAY ON THE LMBs FOR A LONG TIME. Seriously, why are people leaving eight months after they join? It's like they think it's cool to retire or something.
Anyway, so, yeah, stay active for a while, be funny, post a lot (especially in the MB/CC forum), and be nice to people.
10. Tell us three interesting facts about you that we probably don’t already know.
I'm an old man (a.k.a. I'm 16), I'm short (a.k.a. 5'7), and I'm light (a.k.a. 115 pounds).
11. Answer quickly!! Cat or dog? Cake or pie? Movie or video games? Watch sports or play them? Read or write? Star Wars or Lord of the Rings? Summer or winter?
Cat. Both. Video Games. (You're actually interacting with the screen.) Play sports, if you are good at the sport. Eh, both of them. STAR WARS! Winter by far! How can people like summer? It's sooooo hot! At least if it's cold in the winter you can put some sweaters and/or jackets on!
12. If you were the president of the LEGO Company for a day what would you do and why?
Make the old president president again.
13. Do you have any superpowers? If so, what are they?
I have the power to hack people's accounts. (As long as I know his or her username and password. Heh, not that I would ever do that…)
14. What LEGO-related question do you have for the next interviewee?
If you had every single kind of LEGO brick in the world (every shape and size) but had to give up one of those kinds of pieces, which would kind of piece would give up?
15. Question from Diglett809: If you could have won ANY LEGO contest ever, which one would it be and why?
The one that offered the biggest first place prize.
Nah.
Honestly, I can't think of any real-life LEGO contests that I would have liked to have won. Maybe win every single Lyric contest there has been on here? I really don't know.
1. Nice username! We’re guessing you like Lord of the Rings, right? Is Dwalin your favorite character? If so, why?
Dwalin is one of my favorite Hobbit characters! And yes I love LOTR! I like Dwalin because he is a fighter!
2. Have you seen the LEGO Movie yet? If so, what was your favorite part? Why? If not, what are you waiting for?
No, I have not. I am waiting for it to come to DVD.
3. You are active in LotR and The LEGO Movie Roleplays. What is your favorite thing about roleplaying?
What is the toughest part? Well, I like being able to act out characters that I really like! And battle other users! The toughest part is probably having to decide what moves to make without getting your character/army defeated.
4. How did you first learn about the LMBs? What made you want to join? What made you want to become such an active community member?
First I started looking at the LEGO site at LEGO sets. One thing led to another and I found out about the message boards! I wanted to join because I liked being able to chat with other users about things like the hobbit or LOTR that I really like! I just started posting a lot in forums I liked and then I found out about RP which made me even more active!
5. If you were the president of the LEGO Company for a day what would you do and why?
I would have a free LEGO sets day! Why? Because lots of people love LEGO [sets] and would give them a chance to get a LEGO set they really wanted for free!
6. Answer quickly! What’s your favorite school subject? Favorite song? Favorite animal? Favorite color? Favorite food?
My favorite school subject? Now that is hard! Technically I don’t like any of them! Math is probably my favorite! My favorite color is blue! Food? That is soo hard! So many good foods out there! Probably brownies! My favorite type of animal is probably a parakeet (I have one!). I do not really listen to music so I don’t really have a favorite song.
7. What is your hidden talent? How did you get so good at it?
My hidden talent would probably be reading. If I have a really good book I will just read it all day!
8. What advice can you give to a brand new user? What are the keys to having a great time here on the LMBs?
Helping, making friends and chatting with other users!
9. If you could travel to any place in the world where would you go and why?
One place I would like to go to is the Great Wall of China! I want to go there because love walls and castles!
10. What LMB user has inspired you the most? What did they do that made such a lasting impression?
I don’t really know! I have met a few users who have helped me out and been good friends but no one who really inspires me.
11. What career do you hope to have when you are older? Why did you choose that job?
Probably sports. I really like sports because you can run around and be active! I am just that type of person!
12. Do you have any superpowers?
I can be very friendly! But I am shy.
13. What would you like a future poll to be?
Who is your favorite dwarf from the Hobbit?
14. What LEGO-related question do you have for the next interviewee?
What is your favorite LEGO theme?
15. Question from megakid0202: What is the coolest LEGO model you have ever built?
I have never built my own I am just not that creative! The coolest I have ever built is probably the LOTR Helms Deep LEGO set.
1. First off, great username! Why did you choose it?
Well, I'm not sure whether it's great, it's rather long. At the time, my favourite LEGO series was ‘Atlantis’, and I’ve got pretty much all of the sets. My favourite set was the ‘Neptune Carrier’, which was, of course, a submarine. I was so into Atlantis that I used to go into a playground and pretend I was in a submarine with all of my friends! The rest of my username was just chosen naturally; Captains are obviously the best!
2. You recently started a new story called “Quizzopia - A strange adventure.” What inspired you to write the story? What is your favorite part of story writing?
What inspired me was how crazy all of you guys on the MB’s are, including me. I decided that we needed a story that showed just how bonkers we all really are. My favourite part of story writing is making a character; that’s why I love some of Dickens’ novels, they always have such strong characters. Of course, this was why it was so easy to start writing my new story, because all of you are characters, (it’s a good thing, don’t worry )!
3. You’ve been in the community for years now. Exactly how long has it been? What has kept you coming back for so long?
Cor, let me get out my calculator... About 3 years ago, I guess, I won’t do it exactly. I suppose the thing that’s kept me coming back are the memories of the MB’s, and also the fact that I get renewed interest in a topic. I’m always changing my mind about things. You can probably see; I’ve liked Atlantis, Star Wars, LU and DC comics over the years!
4. What is your all time favorite memory from your time on the LMBs?
Ooh, so difficult to decide! Probably being trained by Michaelyoda in the Star Wars the Clone Wars RP. We had some brilliant people there, like dued77477, and they made the RP really fun and relaxed. I suppose my best memory was being in the Separatist Shipyard, not really knowing how on earth any of those ships worked , and also eating all of the fish and donuts in the Sith HQ!
5. Do you participate in the LEGO.com galleries? If so, which ones? If not, why not?
I should, and I’ve made a few things that I’ve been meaning to give to the galleries. I have looked at the Star Wars one, but I’m much too lazy to upload anything. The galleries are a lovely place; they have some REALLY nice builds (better than anything I could do ), and you don’t have to stay active there to get anything out of it.
6. What user has inspired you the most and why?
It’s very difficult to say, because I don’t feel like I’ve been here very long, and I haven’t got a proper chance to know all of you. Many users have inspired me, and they’ve made me do different things. I suppose the person who inspired me the most was batmanthedarkknight0. He read my main story in the Superheroes forum, and then I felt that when he went to Brickbook, it encouraged me to stay. He was a real friend and down to earth. I also haven’t had many chances to mention it, but LEGOtheterrible was also brilliant. He’s very fun and cool, and I try to be more like him.
7. If you were a Mod for the day what would you do and why?
I would hold a party in Mod Towers! I’d invite all the users, and we’d have and ! I would also probably moderate ALL the posts, so the Mods could have a day off. But I suspect that most of the Mods wouldn’t want to take a day off!
8. What career do you hope to have in the future and why?
I’d love to be a superhero, but I think it would be much too hard keeping up with all the training schedules. If I wasn’t fit I’d have to name myself ‘The Adequate Donut Man!’... Otherwise, I’m not really sure. I would love to be an actor for Shakespearean plays, or do something involving History!
9. Answer quickly: TV or movie? Dog or cat? Breakfast or dinner? Summer or Winter? Saturday or Sunday? Blue or red? Instructions or free build?
Ok, you can do this... Movie! Dog! It kinda depends on which ones... no breakfast! Winter! Saturday! Yellow, no orange... no blue! Don’t really care! PHEW!... *puff* I’ve been dreading that question. But then again, I never suspected I’d get interviewed.
10. In the topic “If you could control the LMBs” you said you couldn’t possibly decide what you’d do. Ok, here’s your chance! If you controlled the LMBs for a day what would you do and why?
I suppose I could go a bit crazy... I guess I’d make sure the Dark Side always won in the Star Wars RP’s, I would make CC only talk about superheroes, I’d make my own special badge called ‘Captain’ for any username with captain in it and...
I don’t think you should’ve allowed me to do that, WhiteAlligator.
11. Tell us three interesting facts about you that we probably don’t know.
I once took lessons of ballet, I’ve seen around 10 ballets and I like ballet.
I kept that dark aspect of me deeply hidden for many years, I can’t believe I finally told you guys.
12. If you could give advice to every new user entering the community what would it be and why?
I would say to all new users that though the MB’s is a scary place with some very active people, and you may feel that you’re not quite getting the recognition that you deserve, don’t stop posting. If the MB is fun to this many people, it’s probably going to be fun for you in a while. Keep going, and you’ll meet some wonderfully nice users, all with their voices to share.
13. Do you have any superpowers?
I’m able to wear trousers or jeans made for people several years younger than me. I’ve also got the superpower to get myself un-cool injuries. For example, when I break a finger, it’s my little one in a game called SOFTBALL. The ball really isn’t that soft, trust me. Any other time I hurt myself, it’s probably because I’m jumping for joy in my bedroom, or spontaneously dancing. I suppose it would be useful fighting villains, they would get fed up with fighting someone whose injuries were so lame.
14. What LEGO-related question do you have for the next interviewee?
What do you think would be the most impractical household item to be made out of LEGO?
15. Question from pyangsi10 - If you had every single LEGO piece in the whole entire world, what would you build?
I suppose it would be nice to build a Justice League watchtower, but I think I would build a massive yellow submarine - I’d get minifigures of all of the guys on the MB’s, and we could have a party in my yellow submarine!
1. Congrats on being the Ultra Agents RP rep! How did it feel when you found out you got the role?
It was so exciting! I was bouncing around the house with a smile on my face for an hour and my parents thought I was nuts. Which is what I'm doing right now...
2. What is the best part about being a roleplay rep? What is the most challenging?
I think the best part of being roleplay rep, is getting to check all the topics and making sure nothings wrong. The most challenging thing for me is putting things back together when they go wrong, and trying to prevent them from happening again. I guess I just need experience.
3. What is it you love so much about roleplay? Why?
I love playing roles, because it's like being in a movie, Or a story book! Or a roleplay...
4. You have a very interesting username. What does it mean?
It's one of my many, many nicknames. I don't think it means anything... I added the 10 because it seemed like everybody had a number after their username, and 10 is my lucky number.
5. How did you first learn about the LMBs? What made you want to stay and become such an active community member?
I was googling something about Ninjago, and the first site I clicked on happened to be the LMB's. I stayed because... Because... I just loved it so much and I loved chatting about LEGOs with other kids.
6. Tell us three interesting facts about yourself.
I don't go to bed till 1:30am reading books , I love Transformers, and I can run super fast on all fours.
7. What is your all time favorite LEGO minifigure and why?
The ninja!
8. If you could live inside any LEGO theme what would it be and why?
Ninjago! Definitely Ninjago!
9. Do you pay attention to the ranks? Why or why not?
Yes, I always pay attention to ranks, and, I guess I really don't know why... Because it's fun? It's amazing how Diglett isn't the oldest user but has the highest rank...
10. What career are you hoping to have when you’re older and why?
Fashion designer, because I love clothes, sewing and drawing.
11. Answer quickly!! Cat or dog? Cake or pie? Movie or video games? Watch sports or play them? Read or write? Star Wars or Lord of the Rings? Summer or winter?
Panic!!!! Cat! Pie! Video games! Play sports! Both! I mean, read! Lord of the Rings! Winter! Whew...
12. If you were the president of the LEGO Company for a day what would you do and why?
I would make LEGO's a little bit cheaper, because they are really expensive.
13. Do you have any superpowers? If so, what are they?
When I sleep, I get tiny glimpses of the future, even if they're not important. I can read a whole Warrior cats book in 3 hours, and I can handle my little brother.
14. What LEGO-related question do you have for the next interviewee?
If you had every single LEGO piece in the whole entire world, what would you build?
15. Question from cr9: If you had every single kind of LEGO brick in the world (every shape and size) but had to give up one of those kinds of pieces, which would kind of piece would give up?
The 2x6 piece, I don't know why though, I guess because I've never found a way to use it.
Interview with LEGOtheTerrible. WA had some funny things to say about this one: "When you talk about LEGOtheTerrible there are a few things that naturally come up ...
Russian history,
Gold minifigures,
Pizza, pizza, and more pizza!!
Check out LEGOtheTerrible's delicious interview below."
1. Where did you get the inspiration for your username? Why did you choose it?
They are many inspirations for my username! Gosh! Way too many! The first one is the historical Czar named "Ivan The Terrible", but I doubt it he ate pizzas or even tried one! That led to another moment, I do love eating pizzas and of course I leave a terrible mess of greasy napkins, but another inspiration came when building a Harry Potter set then destroying it...what a terrible element mess! I chose the name "LEGOtheterrible", because I wanted my LEGO MB name to be different, long but rather simple to remember and perhaps unique! I think I did a pretty good job(takes a bow)!
2. You have posted a lot about Mr. Gold. Are you searching for him? What is your strategy?
To be honest, I'm not searching for Mr. Gold, but if I'm lucky, I'm buying pepperoni pizzas and Root Beer floats! Only 5000 being made I think to find Mr.Gold requires lots of luck and perhaps a strong hunch to your favorite toy store and favorite days of the month to shop for Mr. Gold! The key of course is to feel his "top hat" and be patient when feeling the series 10 golden packages!
3. You have been on the LMBs for over a year now. How has your life on the LMBs changed over time?
My life? Yes! I have a life!(breathing fresh air!) I love posting as much as possible, but sometimes I get into trouble for being on the computer too long though. So I make time to post on LMB's when I should be napping!
4. You often talk about pizza. What about pizza do you love so much? What is the weirdest type of pizza you have ever eaten?
I LOVE pepperoni pizzas!!! I could eat pepperoni pizzas everyday too! The weirdest type pizza I ever eaten was dried tomatoes, Mexican sausages, eggplant, caviar, sliced carrots, pinto beans, and yes anchovies!
5. What is your favorite LEGO theme of all time? Why?
My favorite theme is Mystery Minifigures Series! The LEGO theme has captured my imagination and set off the "reign of terror" in purchasing LEGO sets!
LEGO did a tremendous job at fishing me into a wonderful toy which lets you create and build anything! Sorry, I'm getting off the question! Minifigures are cute and I love to collect them! Hope LEGO continues to produce them in years to come!
6. What is the funniest thing that you have ever seen happen on the LMBs?
Gosh! What made me laugh and I thought funny was called. "Make A Boring City Story!" I mean, totally original like, "LEGOtheterrible puts on a pair of orange pants!" I know, so boring!!!
7. What is your favorite subject in school? Why?
I love history! Maybe a boring subject, but I admire how folks lived in the past and solved problems using technologies at the time!
8. How did you first become a LEGO fan? When did you know that you were a LEGO fanatic?
I became a LEGO fan when looking for a Christmas theme toy and just happened to look at the LEGO aisle, and I noticed an Advent Calendar set with a Christmas tree, Santa Claus with toys and cops and robbers. I became hooked! I have to be modest, I don't think I'm a fanatic. Far from it, I think I need 5 more years to be a Lego fanatic, I just started.
9. You are often ranked high on the LMB likes leaderboard. Congrats! What do you think other users like so much about your posts?
Thank you, but I received lots of help from many of my friends and good strangers for my likes! Who is LEGOtheterrible without the LMB members? A good question, I think many LMB's see through LEGOtheterrible's name and see a gentle heart with helpful, honest opinions, who enjoys eating pizzas!
10. If you found a genie and they gave you three wishes what would you wish for (if you could wish for anything in the world)? Why?
My three wishes would be 1. Every child would have a LEGO theme set! 2. More Mr. Gold's would be produce! 3. I had enough money to purchase LEGO theme sets! Every child in world needs to be happy, there is so much negative, make the little ones happy and adults too with a LEGO sets!
11. If you could hang out with any LEGO minifigure in real life which would you choose? Why?
That is a tough question, I have so many favorites, but the Sad Clown.... I think he needs to eat pizzas with me, drinking Root Beer floats and birthday cakes! I know, who's birthday are we celebrating right? We'll ask other LMB members to join in the fun and pretend it's their birthday!!!!
12. What advice would you give to a LEGO fan thinking about joining the LMBs?
Join in the fun! Don't be shy, don't get discourage when posting and if it seems that nobody is paying attention. Just be confident and be yourself, keep posting and have fun!
13. Do you have any superpowers?
Yes I do! I have the ability to throw fresh baked anchovy pizzas at the bad guys! I never run out of fish ammo pizzas either!
14. What would you like a future poll to be?
Should LEGO Board Members be invited to be mods for one day?
15. What LEGO-related question do you have for the next interviewee?
If you found a Mystery Minifigure Series 1 package at your local store would you purchased it and why?
16. Question from EagleEyeDan2: What original LEGO character has inspired you the most?
The Plumber! He has a very dirty job and he always come home dirty too! However, he always has a smile on his face!
