Eh…I’ll work out a way outta here. I’m thinking a break from the place might be nice. Anyways, the guys aren’t real receptive of girls. Cosmic just got sent out of here, they didn’t even let us say good-bye. Her eyes said farewell, though. At least they gave her some food, and a stick.
“What size of stick?”
Just the right size too be too short to use as a spear and too long to be a club.
“Figures. Well, good luck escaping. You go, boi.”
Not her too. I shook my head slowly.
“It’s catchy, boi.”
I just kept shaking my head. My world was falling to pieces, in many ways. Just then, LegoBuilder tugged on my leash. “Let’s go pick vegetables.”
I got my chance when the gardening was in full swing. LegoBuilder had tethered me to the ground, and moved off down the row. What was he thinking? I could just yank up the post I was practically sitting on.
I promptly did so. And took off. The leash flapped behind me, slapping against the back of my legs and my back.
A startled yell. Users turned to peer at me. Legoagentfigure appeared at the entrance into the Runner’s gathering. He took off towards me. Our distances were practically equal. I was going to have to outrun a Runner here to escape!
I sped up. My legs churning faster and faster, as if trying to outrun themselves.
He did likewise, leaning more into the wind, forging his way forward at a rate simply indescribable.
I found a hidden reserve, and slowly increased my speed.
I was going to make it.
He sped up again.
I wasn’t going to make it.
He barely beat me, and reached to try and grab me. Unfortunately, we both had too much steam built up. He missed me as I slid under his outstretched arm. And off I went, straight into the heart of the Galleries.
