Lexos frowns. "What..?" Lexos takes a step back, then gives a suspicious look at Dror. Lexos's hand reached for the hilt of his sword.
Dror notices his motion. "Please, it's not what you think. They- Xain soldiers, I mean- dropped him off at the door last night. They said. . . they said they had hoped peace could be made- all lies, of course- but they saw him and his friends, whatever they were doing, as a declaration of war. They're going to attack soon. Maybe they already have; I don't know. I hope whatever plans you've been making are ready, because the war's begun, with or without you."
Lexos stops reaching for his sword and nods. "I see." Lexos says. "I must get back to the Dragon Knights Castle then. Is there anything else we must know?"

"You should ask him. I think he knows something, but he won't talk to me."

Lexos realizes that Bakar has been whispering to himself all this time. "All smashed... all but me... I should be smashed."
Lexos looks startled and looks at Bakar. Then, after a while of listening, he leans close to Bakar. "Bakar? Bakar, tell me: what happened?"
Bakar looks up at him blearily. "It started well. We... we made it onto the ships and began searching, and... then they found us. They smashed... Izat and Haize and Erlan and Gut... and they made me watch. They took my legs... but they said they needed me alive... to deliver a message...." He trails off and then starts mumbling again, "Garal... it would have been my fault. They... but it would have been my fault."

OOC: Once Valithor hears about this, heads will roll.

OOC: They will indeed. Fortunately, I'm already looking into some new Shadow Guards.

"What message?" Lexos whispers.
Bakar snaps back into focus. "The message... the war has begun... their armies are coming... oh, they will destroy us." He begins to sob, but then he seems to remember something else. "How they found us... the generals... not on the ships... scattered... Malheim witches...." He trails off again and starts talking more about Garal.

"Their generals are scattered?!" Lexos shook his head. "This isn't good!" Lexos turns to Dror and asks "What are Malheim witches?

"Malheim is one of the nations of Kahltrain. It seems that General Nagera has brought along some of their magic-users. I suspect he is using them for communication between the generals and the forces."

OOC: Spellcasters communicating with generals? Heh that's just like what happened in the Eragon series. They're good books, have you read them?
IC: Lexos sighs and says "Ah, these dastardly Xains! They are -" Lexos stops abruptly and glances at Dror. "Sorry." Lexos sighs. "It's just that..." Lexos trails off, shaking his head.
