I wrote this story on the LMBs, and it was my best one, so I'm archiving it here. The Day the Galleries Shut Down by Stephanie3965 I excitedly selected pictures of the great LEGO Friends Clothing Store I had made. Happily I posted them on the LEGO Friends Gallery. I typed my description and tagged the creation. I clicked "Submit" and gazed at the little yellow sign saying "Pending". Hopefully the Mods would get to it soon.
My username is Nicki2204. I simply loved the galleries. I only posted on the Friends* one, but still, it was so much fun. I made an edit on the Artmaker and saved it, then posted it. Then I looked at the Gallery. There were thousands of posts begging people to enter their contests, join their clubs, and comments on their creations. Hundreds of users commented, joining their clubs, and promising to enter their contests.
But none did what they promised to do. Everyone wanted attention. People began leaving because their stories weren't read, their drawings weren't looked at, they didn't get more than five comments or five likes, nobody looked at their stuff. I looked around the gallery and sighed. It was no longer a happy, jolly, place to be. It was a place of a few proud, users rejoicing that their creations got a lot of likes and comments, and several other users begging for attention.
I decided I needed to do som, ething about this disasterous gallery.
I submitted a creation to the Mods explaining my problem and telling them to reject it and give me a response. I foud out I was dealing with White Alligator. The creation was rejected with a message from White Alligator. "Dear, Nicki I regret to inform you that all of the Mods have discussed this presentation, and have decided that we will shut all of the LEGO.com galleries down, permanantly. Users must now communicate on the Message Boards. ~White Alligator" I stared, looking horrified. No galleries! I sighed.
The next day I looked at the site. The galleries were gone! The LMBs were just buzzing with it. Why did the galleries shut down? They all seemed to be asking. I swiftly made a post saying that it was my fault. The Mods rejected it. "Nicki, please do not share this information with the other users." Was the rejection message. I sighed and buried my face in my hands. I submitted another message to the MBs asking the Mods to bring the galleries back. It was accepted. Other users begged to. Finally, miakittymoon locked the topic saying, "This topic is now off-topic. I am locking it." I sighed. I didn't sleep that night. It was all my fault. How could I get the galleries back? I just had to. Then I had an idea.
I sent the Mods a note, telling them that I would not go on the galleries again if they would just bring them back. The Mods kindly told me that it made no difference whether I was on them or not. Exhausted, I leaned back in my chair and yawned. What could I do? For days I sent notes ad messages to the Mods begging them to bring back the galleries. The Message Boards finally calmed down and went back to normal. I was still very upset. I stopped building for a few days, then decided that I would just have to move on without the galleries. Then two weeks after the galleries shut down, I saw an announcement on the Message Boards. It read:"We are opening a special gallery for a contest. If the users want the galleries back, Nicki2204, must build a huge model for the LEGO Friends* gallery, that the Mods will pass. She has one week to do it." I stopped, looking very surprised. The Message Boards buzzed with excitement, everyone asking me why I had to build a model for it. I wondered if I was going to be able to do it. I had three days left to post my creation. I had been working on it. It was a huge mall. It was in the shape of a lipstick container, with many levels. The colors were black and red. The model almost went up to my waist. I was working hard on it. I still had to furnish the whole mall, and put signs and stickers up. I went online and found free printable stickers, which I printed and glued to my pieces. Finally the model was finished. I submitted it to the gallery; And waited. The next day I slipped into my chair and loaded up the Messsage Boards as fast as I could. I gasped. There on the announcement ulletin it said, "Nicki2204' build has passsed. All galleries are now open. They are empty, but you can fill them. To see Nicki's build, click here." I excitedly went to the Friends* gallery. Then I stopped. Already two-hundred pages of creations. The same thing was going on as before. I sighed. This time I would have to do something myself, instead of notifying the Mods. I had learned my lesson. The next day I looked at the LEGO Friends* gallery. Things were much different, like the old days. I looked around a lot, until I saw a post by one user, who had followed me around for quite some time, and she declared that we become like the old gallery again, and all users had joined her. I looked happily around the new old gallery, filled with inspiration, and ready for more fun than I had ever had on the gallery before, and I and all of the other users, (the retired ones came back) had that fun.~THE END
How unrealistic. We obviously know the LMBs would shut down first.
I wrote it because the Lego Friends Gallery was turning rather spammy, and I was trying to push a message. Several people got it, but I really made no improvement with it.

The friends gallery is still spammy, everything is just rushed edits of TV show screenshots.
