As Gidie and the others complete the spell, the ground begins to shake. They see the castle trembling in the distance, and then it is suddenly swallowed up by the earth, along with all of the surrounding Xains. Three dragons hover above the sinkhole- the mother and the two surviving children. Where the castle once stood is now only a shallow pit filled with dirt and rubble. Staring on in awe, Gidie mutters, "I'm glad I chose to weaken the spell. I can't imagine what would have happened if I'd tried the full version."
A small group of weary soldiers appear on a little hill above the battle. They look down on the battle taking place. An elf is far ahead, analyzing when best to join in the battle. the rest await orders.
Lexos massages his neck and rolls his shoulders, then draws his sword. "Alright men," he said, putting on a confident voice. "today is the day where we will strive to save the our allies. Everyone with a bow, stay on top of this hill and send arrows flying towards our enemies and get as many as you can. Everyone with melee weapons, form a wedge and punch right through our enemies lines and try to confuse them as much as possible. Harfor, are there any suggestions you would like to make? I'm not confident that my plan will work smoothly enough to be executed with our victory and their loss."
"Be brave, Be strong, Be Forestmen!" Calls Harfor. Amion has already joined the battle, fighting back to back with a few of the Minotaurs. They are renewed by seeing the castle fall but that also means more of the attention will be on them.

Sairse nods a greeting to Amion and directs him to join the next group on the attack. The minotaurs are using a style of battle where they are chased by the Xains and groups of about a score each take turns falling back to hit the Xains with a quick attack before rejoining the rest and letting the next group attack.

OOC: It's in this topic. I'll post your arrival at the battle tomorrow.
OOC: OK, kewl.
As he draws close to the battle, he is able to make the following assessments: 1. The army in crimson and white, who he now knows to be the enemy, are winning against their opponents dressed in black. 2. The army in black is under attack by magic as well, but don't appear to have any magic-users of their own. 3. There is a large stone dragon flying above the battle. It appears to be struggling against some largely unseen force, likely magical in nature.
Getting a little closer, he finds a black-furred minotaur waving towards him from a position a short distance from the battle.

"Archers, form a line and open fire upon the Xains but make sure you aim carefully, because any of our allies could be down there!" Lexos shouts, "everyone with melee weapons, charge!" Lexos runs forward.

Kestrel draws his bow and arrow, advancing toward the battle. He keeps himself aware of his surroundings, scanning the chaos for the leader here.
The soldiers in black appear to be leaderless. He does not see a clear single leader among the enemy. As he advances, the minotaur begins to approach him. "Have you come from the castle? What happened?"

Seeing the Forest Band troops charging, Sairse waits until the Xains turn their attention to them and then sends a large part of the minotaur force in to attack the Xains from the rear.
