*My troops stay out of range of yours, and send your scout back with this message:* It is a fine day for you to be destroyed.
*The scout returns* Thanks, buddy. *The scout comes back into formation*

Marines: Those where made by Argh, the old leader of Umbar. I think they are just troops that are good when fighting on sea. But not as good on land.
Infantry: They are just that, men who fight on foot in hand to hand combat.
Archers: Men on foot who fire bows or crossbows at their foes from a distance.
Cavalry: Men who fight on horseback. Most are lancers, but some are mounted horse archers.
@digs I'm not sure that you saw this, so I am reposting it with a list of which units are which.
Coastal Raiders: Shock Cavalry
Companions: Heavy Shock Cavalry Corsairs: Light infantry, with javelins good on the attack but not as good on defience. Corsair archers: Light archers, good shot's, but will fall very easily in melee combat. Corsair Raiders: Lightly armored infantry with two-handed axes, good for taking down enemy's with heavy armor. Corsair Spearmen: defensive infantry with javelins. Blademasters of the Bay: Elite shock troops who excel at taking down enemy formations. Hatholdir (axe men): Elite shock troops, like a much better version of the Corsair Raiders. Belegaer archers: Basic archers, meant to pour volley after volley into enemy ranks. Not good in melee combat, but slightly better than the corsair archers. Belegar Marksmen: Elite archers, used to pick off enemy offesers and lightly armored elites. Not bad in melee against basic troops.
I hope that helps.
Okay, so is this the new units list, or just the groups of units? Yeah, must have missed the first post, hadn't seen it until now. So I should probably stay away from too many Marines for now.

It says what is what. Shock troops, archer, defensive infantry etc.

No idea about the Marines. Offensive are basically people who carry axes, broadswords, flails and that kind of thing.
Okay, I can read the weapons for most units I think. What do defensive units carry? Maybe 8legos can clear all of this up?
Defensive units carry pikes, polearms, some swords, large shields. Things you would put in a Phalanx or a Testedo are definetely Defensive unitry (although that's not to say they CAN'T attack. They definetely can.)

Would anyone be interested in retraining me? I have some experience on the old LOTR RP from quite a while ago, but I'm really rusty, and wasn't very good to begin with.

Guess that I could help. How about. . . 5K v. 5K in The Morgul Vale?

8legos, should we update the units list to follow the main groups of units(offensive, defensive, cavalry, archers) instead of all these different categories? If not it's fine, just an idea because as you can see I'm having trouble sorting them into these categories:P.

*The Temu-faxe and Temu-Fajai groups continue what they were doing.*
*The cavalry does the exact same thing as before* *The archers ready arrows* *The knights sharpen their blades*

OOC: This strategy is essentially leading your Cavalry away from your main troops. They attack as your cavalry begin to retreat (they wouldn't already be behind your knights) and so they draw them further off.
