I've never bought a Mindstorms set, but I was just wondering if there would be a new one anytime soon, we've had the same one for four years! If they come out with a new one at a good price, I'm sure Lego would make a ton of money!

They have the LEGO Boost system coming out later this year, but it's more similar to the LEGO Education WeDo robotics system than Mindstorms as far as I can tell.

Yeah, that's not replacing Mindstorms. You know, you got me thinking about something: I wonder if Boost and EV3 will be compatible with eachother.
I've never had a Mindstorms set either, but it is about time they release a new one. Whether it be a fourth generation set, or just an update to the EV3 kit.
I'd be surprised if they don't... NXT and EV3 were both huge hits as far as I can tell, and there would be plenty of demand for a new kit with FLL and all.
