Not at all - in the past, I've mostly based our units off of Rome, but I'm thinking about maybe changing that. Probably going to focus more on cavalry and siege weapons this time around; but yeah, post away.

I have some units from the old RP that I made and could post here if you want to use them.
Goatman, here are some ideas for some basic units:Rohan units
General: Rohan is renowned for it's cavalry. The Rohirrim grow up with horses, and love them next to their kin. As such the horses of Rohan are the finest steeds to be found, and the well-trained Riders, with their great prowess in battle and natural affinity with their mounts, are the most skilled Cavalry in Middle-earth. Rohan also has infantry, and while they are not as promient as the cavalry, or as strong as some other infantries, they are fine warriors in their own right. The Riders will also dismount and fight with skill on foot if need be. All Rohirrim posses a free valiant spirit, that steadies them against their foes.
Riders of Rohan:
The Riders are the backbone of Rohan's military. These men come from across all of Rohan. While many of them spend most of their time as herdsmen or farmers, they grow up with horses, are well-trained ride and fight, and most have served in the King's service and have experience in battle. They are not as heavy as some cavalry, as the Rohirrim prefer speed and skill, and with their skill and swift steeds, they are the finest standard Cavalry in Middle-earth.
Weapons: Each Rider is equipped with a Spear, a shield, and either a sword or an axe.
Armour: well made mail and scale armour, mixed with leather, with helmets and plate elements.
Rohirrim mounted Archer
A key component of Rohan's muster is it's well trained mounted Archers. While less numerous than the normal riders, they are just as skilled. They combine mobility and range and can sweep in, strike from a distance, and then gallop way before the enemy can retaliate, and are effective in large numbers or small parties.
Weapons: Each has a standard bow, and a sword or axe.
Armour: well made mail and scale armour, mixed with leather, with helmets and plate elements.
Knights of Rohan.
These are the Riders in full-time military service. The difference between them and most of the Riders is not vast, but they have more time to train and prepare, and so are more skilled in battle. They elite troops, and are often to be found at the fore of the advance, and wherever the fight is fiercest, leading the Rohirrim to victory.
Weapons: Each Has a lance, a shield, and a sword.
Armour: Scale and mail. Plate helmets and elements. a somewhat more standardized and better made than normal Riders
Knights of the King.
These are some of the very finest warriors in Rohan, chosen to be the King's personal guard. The follow him everywhere whether in at peace Edoras, or in the thickest battle. They experts with spears, swords, axes, and even other weapons if need be, and are quite possibly the best and most skilled cavalry in Middle-earth.
Armour: Very well made scale and mail, with plate Helmets, and more plate elements that normal Riders or Knights.
Weapons: Spear, Sword, and shield.
Rohirrim Infantry:
Not all warriors of Rohan are cavalry. Many are infantry. Like their Rider counterparts they are mustered from all of Rohan, but are better trained, and more experienced and used to fighting on foot. While not as good in formation some other human armies, they are very proficient in melee combat, and will tenaciously advance, or hold a shieldwall.
Armor: Mail and scale, with some leather, plate helmets and elements.
Weapons: Swords, axes, shields.
Rohirrim Spearmen.
These infantry are much like regular infantry, except they are specially trained in the use of the spear, either to form defensive walls, or to advance.
Obviously this is incomplete, and I spent more time on the Cavalry than the infantry. What do you think? How heavy or light do you think our standard Cavalry should be?

say. . . You know, you might want to use some Greek designs. I mean, Alexander's Cavalry (I think that's right, I might be mixing it up), and the Infantry are similar (although more numerous, they are still similar to what you might expect from Rohirrim infantry I feel.) Also, I believe that the Mongols have some pretty good cavalry, might want to check that out.
Also, I've used the ideas of WWII, essentially using Trolls and heavier cavalry to do that stuff. While you might not find it as easy, it still is possible. Also, Rohan didn't really have Siege weapons, so I'd suggest not focusing.
Tul Generas of the Orcs, Darthraxx of the dragon Knights. I RP, and have lots of fun.
I hope you don't mind if I get things rolling, Goatman, but we really need to take initiative.

*The Infantry form up into 4 groups of 1,000 with 400 Infantry, 300 Spearmen, and 300 Archers each*
*The Cavalry form up into 8 Groups of 1,200, with 800 Riders, 200 Knights, and 200 Archers Each*
*the four groups of Infantry set off, 2 for Eastfold and 2 for East Emnet.*
*7 Groups of cavalry set off, 2 for Eastfold, and 5 For East emnet*
{JAMMERS! -Goatman- ONLY!}As you can see I've sent troops to claim the East Emnet and the Eastfold. I think we should troops through the Emyn Muil and claim Dagorlad, then maybe even Cirith Gorgor, and some other troops down through Anorien ino Ithilien to join up with them.
Does that sound good? I'm really not trying to take over, but you've been a bit inactive here and we needed to send out troops.

Rohirrim Spearmen.: 1 MWE
These infantry are much like regular infantry, except they are specially trained in the use of the spear, either to form defensive walls, or to advance.
Armour: Mail and scale, with some leather, plate helmets and elements.
Weapons: Spears, daggers, shields.
Rohan Archers: 1 MWE
While Rohan's archers are not very numerous, they are very skilled, having learned by necessity through hunting or fending off enemies come to raid the herds.
Armour: Mail and scale, with some leather, plate helmets.
These are very sturdy, strong men, drawn primarily from the vales of the Westfold. They are more heavily armoured than normal Rohirrim infantry, and carry large Axes, which they use to break through enemy lines and smash their way through their foes. However, they are still swift, and very skilled in battle. This makes them ideal shock troops, and the right men to hold off an enemy advance. They are distinguished from other Rohirrim, in that rather than green, they wear red, and carry red shields. Weapons: Battle axes, round red shields. Armour: Heavy scale and mail over leather, with plate helmets and elements.
{JAMMERS! -Bobbywan- ONLY!} Hey there, just wanted to throw something out there. We still have the 2 HQ rule, you can be in 2, but only lead one. You might want to take advantage of that, and rejoin Gondor. LA's been around for all the planning, but I don't believe he's ever actually done any combat. And he's controlling over 1/3 of good's troops. I feel like the south may very quickly become what the northwest was in the old RP, with Dre owning a zillion regions. Ofc, I want to win too, but I'd also like to make it challenging. Again, this is just a suggestion, do what you like with it.
