'Twas (and still is) insanely difficult but that was its charm
F-Zero; The reaction time champion!
More like the "don't crash into the walls or fall off the track even though winning requires that you send your car out of control for the sake of a cheap speed boost" champion

Seems legit.
Regardless -- I want mah F-zero sequel Nintendo. Cmon!
I mean... SOMEBODY's gotta show the developers of Fast how a hovercar game is ACTUALLY supposed to look like
*Presses the brakes, waits for the dragon bird to catch up, side-attacks him causing him to explode, starts snaking again*
Darn.
Fun fact: Deathborn's Dark Schneider utilizes DS<meaningless numbers here> engines, the DS likely stands for "Dark Schneider." This in of itself is not a big revelation by any measure, however, if you examine the engines used in Black Shadow and Blood Falcon's machines, you can see that both have DS engines incorporated into them, which likely means that Deathborn not only hired/forced/threatened Black Shadow to win the F-Zero Grand Prix -- he also gave him technology from (presumably) the Underworld to help him do it. This connection between the three characters is also echoed by the fact that all three of their pilot profile songs feature similar words in them, most notably "fie/fire" being repeated in the latter portion of Deathborn's song, as well as throughout Black Shadow's and Blood Falcon's. We also hear "blah blah blah -of the right?" toward the beginning of both Deathborn and Black Shadow's theme songs. What this all means, I don't want to know, because those songs are super creepy and distorted so you don't know what they're actually saying -- but still, it's pretty cool that these motifs exist across those three profiles.
Another fun fact: Samurai Goroh, Antonio Guster, and Daigoroh's machines were all manufactured by the same company (Toraemon Echigoya) and Goroh and Guster's machines both feature RS model engines. ...Yes, I have officially overanalyzed this game I am probably the first American to ever notice all these facts
