At the mention of the Crown, Emiliano displays a rare sense of anger and impales her polished dirk into the oak table. Throwing a look at a nearby crew mate, she nods.
The crew mate quickly runs into the Captain's cabin, pulling out a chest. Unlocking it in front of them, the crew mate hands Emiliano a scroll yellowed with age. Emiliano nods again in thanks before turning back to the Pirate.
Unfurling the scroll, she lifts it near her head. Controlling the fury in her voice, the Captain speaks. "It was written years before our time that the Graciela family would be known as a neutral party sailing the seas to heal the injuries of all and if need be restore justice when those who should look away. We were respected. This law was respected. Now all of it has gone to waste with enough whispers from those who fear their deeds exposed."
The Captain grows calm, allowing a silent, still pause. Nothing but the waves dashing across the sea could be heard.
Taking a deep breath, Emiliano rolls up the scroll and places it back in the chest. "I do not expect heroics born out of the kindness of thine heart, but if the seas are to be free for all, then the one behind these whispers must be stopped." Reaching for her hat, she plucks off a black feather and hands it to the Pirate. "Are you familiar with Captain Varrow?"
IC: *The pirate visibly jumps when she stabs her dirk into the table. He grimly nods after she's done.* "Aye, the infamous Vulture Captain. 'E has a veritable fleet, tempting with all the supplies, but ah've known men that crossed him... never heard from 'em again."
"Then, if I may ask, shall it be possible for you to be a watchful eye on the seas?" Emiliano notices the Pirate's anxious look and returns her dirk to its sheath. "Though the French Port is a fortress, freeing it will force them to recognize the contract and on your end might be an aid in future endeavors."
The Old Man bursts out of his makeshift kitchen to serve a large bowl of overripe salad with dressing. "Fine food from a recipe I learned up in the High North Coast. Enjoy!"

Emiliano casts a doubtful eye.
IC: *The pirate stands up and paces. He turns to Emiliano.* "What do you plan to do after freeing the French Port? Do you have plans to avoid essentially declaring war on the French monarchy?"

Selecting an overripe tomato from her salad, Emiliano shakes her head. "Not at all. Only to restore the LaPaloma's name. I doubt the French enjoy their prized port being overrun by scallywags, or their reputation tarnished by a cowardly governor. Varrow's whisperings will have a harder time to effect the hearts and minds of those impacted, however..."
Emiliano picks up the bowl of salad and stands upright. "Even if this fails, and LaPaloma is forever branded as a band of rogues, I must keep the law of the Dove and rescue the Port. It would help a great deal if I found an ally."

OOC: I keep forgetting to give him the accent. lol

Luz taps his beak on the table, speaking in Morse Code before flying off, back to his acquaintance at the Tavern.

OOC: Finnbarr Galedeep, is that you?
OOC: Not quite. xP More of my personal pirate persona, but kudos for knowing redwall.
IC: *The pirate raises his eyebrows.* "Try at some weapons? Do ye mean ta say that ye don't have weapons?"

IC: Emiliano strolls to a pile of polished cutlasses. "Of course, of course. No, I speak of the more interesting types. Maces, swinging chains, all the good tidings one needs to enter a fortress, ye ken? Need only wait for my feathered first mate to make his return."
Sitting down to clean a flintlock, Emiliano nods. "So, friend. What supplies can you offer for our escapade? Must tally up to form our rescue plan."

If ye need any close combat engagement, ah suppose ah can do that, but ah prefer ta not be seen attackin' imperial troops. As for just supplies, what're ye needin'?
OOC: Man, why'd you say ken? You don't know how tempted I am now to just go straight up irish/scottish accent. xP Also, how much use of electricity is allowed in this rp? (pirates rp) Is it situational like how it's used or just banned/not allowed at all?

OOC: I...couldn't help it. Part of the charm. As for technology, I'm not sure. It seems the original creators had a historical rp in mind, but more fantastical elements seeped through so it turned into a historical fiction rp. I suppose a very limited form is allowed.
IC: "Hmm, well if we find ourselves trapped a well stocked cupboard should be helpful. Though, perhaps a more colorful approach may prove successful. Surely, no Pirate Lord should feel threatened at the presence of a beggar's crew." Taking a spyglass from underneath her hat, Emiliano searches for any sign of the Falcon.
A few of her crewmates approach carrying clothing faded from the sun.
"Oi, last of the uniforms recovered from them soldiers are ready." "Patched and cleared for sear faring."
Emiliano closes the spyglass with a flourish, grinning. "Now we await a ship to complete the ensemble. Sir Pirate, have you a barnacle encrusted ship to spare?"

IC: *The pirate laughs.* "Hardly. The Immortal Daybreak does not fit tha description of a beggar's ship." *Emiliano might recognize the name of the ship of the most renowned bounty hunter captain of the seven seas, Captain Cat.*
OOC: Well, i wouldn't be using it for like the typical use of electric like lights and power and stuff, but rather a sort of steampunk like invention that would harness electricity in the air and from storms to make it weaponized. One certain crewmember would have maybe an electric pack on his back and then sort of looking like wrist flamethrowers, but they would be shooting/using electricity. If that's too much, but electricity in that sort of use would be allowed, I can try to think of a way to dial it back. I already have the character in another roleplay, and his whole gist is kind of electricity, so yeeaaah, if electricity of that type isn't allowed, i'm gonna have to revamp him.

IC: "Such a fine name for a vessel. Surely, it must be a beast!" Clasping her hands, she watches her falcon and Mlinzi come into view. "Well now, here is an opportunity to acquire a ship."

IC: *Mlinzi stalls before setting foot aboard the ship, seems not quite sure of herself, then takes a shaky step abord the vessel. Looks around as if lost if the very ports and dock yards she grew up around. Fallows the falcon over to where it's master and this stranger stand.* "Uh, you're falcon... *realizes this sounds rather absurd* Your falcon informed me you need equipment?" *She askstentatively*

Straight to the point, I do need a reliable supplier for vittles and equipment...though most importantly I'm in need of a ship. Surely, you could spare one of the ailing vessels left docked at doubloon for years for use?"

Luz, the Falcon, gently glides downward. In his beak is a copy of the Graciela Treaty. Waddling to Mlinzi, he drops it for her to read.
Emiliano furrows her brow, thinking to herself. "So Varrow has truly tarnished my name."
Motioning to the Treaty, she shakes her head. "Not at all. The Dove permits no such acts. In fact, we are on a mission of mercy. To rescue a port overrun by true marauding fiends."
